I think Juan and Tb1 saw 2012 together.

We went to the Olive Garden after the movie. Pretty good night over all
|
No way I was just there!
|
No way!
|
The Olive Garden - Pork Milanese - 9/10
Served with some kind of stuffed pasta side. I squeezed lemon on the pork and it was even better. Unlimited pasta and breadsticks as always. |
I love their Chicken Alfredo so much
|
Chicken Parm from Olive Garden - 10/10
|
Drag Me to Hell 7/10 - Okay, but didnt really feel like anything special. Kind of enjoyed the last twist though. And I love Alison Lohman.
Pretty in Pink 7/10 - Not my favorite of the John Hughes movies. Food Inc. 6.5/10 - Interesting documentary, but ultimately nothing special. Bruno 8/10 - Funny, but not Borat funny. |
Funny People - I've no idea what to rate it, nothing like what I thought it'd be really. Def way too long ended up pausing it a few times to do other stuff. Kinda liked it though not sure really.

Anyway.. Monsters vs Aliens 6/10 Very disappointing though I will say that Dreamworks has picked up their CG Animation a lot. The celebrity voice cast was pretty much wasted. |
Reign Over Me - Don Cheadle & Adam Sandler
9/10 - I admit....I balled like a fucking baby at times. Watch this one when you feel like a good cry. I'm a man. Admit it. You cry too bitches. |
1/10 - Saw 6
We saw this film to kill time before a coach journey back from a weekend away. I wish I'd stayed in the hotel and masturbated with a cheese-wire wrapped around my shaft. |

Donnie Darko- 8.5/10
|
2012 - 6/10
Got real fed up with the amount of times they escaped certain death through pure luck. Went on a bit. |
The Forgotten - 5/10.
Flightplan - 7/10 |
New Moon - 5.5
For someone who is way out of their TA, I think it's a fair score. Wasn't THAT bad, but still, not at all my thing. |
Star Trek ('09) - 3/5
Nothing special. |
You're crazy Clockshot.
|
I've always been more of a TNG guy to be honest.
|
I love TNG but that new star trek was the shit 8/10
|
Bruno: 9.5/10
hahaha, classic. I must have a sick sense of humor because like Borat most people I know called this disturbing. I think it's the most hillarious thing making people feel uncomfortable and preying off prejudices. My favorite parts is when he went hunting with those rednecks, when he went to the army and when he went on that talk show. "Africa was full of African-Americans" ROFL |
Ninja Assassin - 2/5
Plot sucked, acting sucked, actors sucked. Only saving graces were Zao from Die Another Day and some good fight sequences. Only see this movie during matinee hours. |
Funny People - 7/10
Pretty good. Sandler turns in a good performance. I like the idea of non-Apatow regulars in the lead because none of they all hit the best part of their range in Knocked Up. |
The Thing - 9/10
Excellent film. Obviously it isn't as scary by today's standards, but when this came out in the early 80's this probably scared the shit out of kids. Great music, great setting, great directing. |
The Graduate- 10/10
|
Analyze This - 6/10.
|
The Stand - 7/10
Not as good as the book, but that's the case 95% of the time, isn't it? Still a very good representation of the novel, even though there are several noticeable changes. Mainly bought this because I recently read the book for the first time and wanted to see how they compared. Mission accomplished. |
Ninja Assasin - 7/10.
Kind of what Clockshot said, only I enjoyed some of the plot, although it was kind of confusing. Action scenes were shaky cam, which sucked big time. Would have been alot better if they werent filmed like that. Action scenes were a huge mess at times, but enjoyable. |
Dr. Strangelove - 9/10
Pretty stellar movie Peter Sellers was the man |
The Road. Excellent film.
Viggo is the man among all men. Duvall played a great part despite not getting much screen time, and the boy did a great job too. And it stayed true to the book, which is always a good thing. |
Zen, you make me want to go to the movies.
|
Childs Play 2 - 6/10.
|
Quote:
But not to see Twilight or some such shit. |
I wanna see The Road, have to convince my significant other to as well.
|
Terminator: Salvation - 3.5/5
Watching this makes me miss The Sarah Connor Chronicles even more. :'( |
Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) - 7/10
Prince of Darkness - 6.5/10 In the Mouth of Madness 7/10 |
The Wrestler
10/10 due to Marisa Tomei being naked for 20 minutes of it.. Been in love with her since My Cousin Vinny.. |
A History of Violence
9/10 because of the excellent yet simple story. And the fight scenes  They were few and far between but Viggo Mortensen was like a killing machine. Completley awesome. |
why is Viggo Mortensen naked in all of David Cronenberg's movies?
|
Funny People 7/10
It was ok. kind of didn't expect them to go where they did with this. It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. Way to many dick jokes for me. And it was about a half hour too long. Star Trek: 9/10: Cool movie. I was never a fan of Star Trek, so it was cool that they started from the beginning where the characters first meet each other. Four Christmas': 8.7/10 A lot funnier then I anticipated. Vince Vaughn was great in this and the movie had a lot of stupid comedy, which I love. And Reese Whitherspoon is as hot as always. |
Lethal Weapon 4 - 8/10. First LW movie that I've seen....and I enjoyed it.
|
If you gave 4 8/10, looks like the first three are on for an average of about 13/10
|
I like to pretend Lethal Weapon 4 is a giant blooper reel of the other films.
|
Fantastic Mr. Fox - 7/10
Pretty good. The animation was the best part/main reason I saw it. Incredible. Apparently shot the entire thing on a DSLR using just hand made puppets and sets. Looked amazing. Story was pretty good too. I think this is probably my favorite Wes Anderson movie actually, but that is because I never really liked any of his other movies that much other than Rushmore I guess. Something "off putting" about them to me, I do not know. The Room - 7/10 I guess. Really "terrible" movie that is hilarious. Don't know how to rate this properly. Kinda legitimately got into the story. :'( lol so many unnecessarily long sex scenes and ridiculous dialogue. Immediately feel like watching it again right now. Antichrist - 7/10 jalsfdlasdlasdflasdlaksdflasdfjsdiojasdf @ this movie. Dunno how to explain it. Almost turned it off during the middle but stuck with it and it was well worth it. Like extremely slow paced but then it is like fuck. A couple's child dies and the woman begins to lose her mind. They go off into the woods as a "retreat" and she gets worse. What a fucked up movie this is. Lars von Trier btw. If you liked/hated his other movies, this will prob be the same. Wholphin no. 8 - 7/10 Quarterly DVD series of short films. Like 70% great and 30% shitty. Had some short where James Franco destroys a room for like 30 mins straight. Also another "room" skit with Creed from The Office. Also some documentary about tweens being obsessed with money and fashion that was real good. And other good stuff. Examined Life - 6/10 Basically shows like 10 or so "philosophers" philosophizing about random things in "the streets." Was OK. A few of the people were really interesting and a couple were annoying and shitty. Nights and Weekends - 6.5/10 Pretty good. "Mumblecore" movie about some couple who is in a long distance relationship and how they "grow distant." Helvetica - 4/10 I don't know, kinda shitty. Not sure what I was really expecting though. Was done in a pretty boring way. |
I could never get into Von Trier's movies.
|
28 Weeks Later - 3/5
Seemed like a disconnected series of events to me, and despite the family angle, didn't seem quite as personal as the first one. Not digging the idea of a 'main antagonist' infected. I rather they took the prologue and stretched that into the feature. Let The Right One In - 5/5 Great movie. Can't wait to see how we Yanks do it. |
Paranormal Activity - 8/10
Maybe not "Scream Out Loud" scary but genuinely spinetingling at points. Think the ending was overdone. |
Ninja Assassin - 7.5 out of 10.
The ninja scenes and the final battle were the best parts of the film. A bit slow at points since it tries telling too many storylines at certain points. |
Red Cliff pt. 2 - 4.5/5
|
Taking of Peltham 134 or whatever number it was. 5/10 - Passed some time, didn't bore me but wasn't actually good really
Inglorious Basterds 8/10 Really liked this, kept thinking they were going to gay things up and have the two plots kinda foil each other or something and then almost got annoyed when it worked even though I'd have been more annoyed had it not. Brad Pitts Italian accent a particular highlight. |
SLC Punk - 7/10 - I loved the pacing of this movie. I could have used a bit more about Steven's philosophy. He's a great character when he's going on his adventures and Matthew Lillard plays the role well, but when he's talking to his dad about his philosophy he speaks a bit generically about the whole thing, and yet the father seems overwhelmed by it every time.

I have rented Public Enemies and have not put it in yet, but I am going to go ahead and just give it a 10/10 as I have no doubt this is what it will be
|
Public Enemies is no. 1 on my weekend priority list.
|
Public Enemies: Fucking Incredible.
|
Indeed. Public Enemies is quite good,
Gone Baby Gone - This was one of those movies where it don't make sense till the end and makes you think. And I always get confused during them, damnit! But, still, it was a real good watch. 9/10 |
Spider-Man 3- 6.5/10
Special effects and the action were incredible. Story was weak. Way too many "Evil Dead" like over the top comedy. Went a little overboard on flashbacks to the past 2 movies. Peter Parker is an asshole even without the symbiote, and he also loses his mask too much. Weak movie. |
Diary of the Dead - 2/5
Great production, but so-so acting, bad writing, and vague direction turn an interesting premise into a bad execution. There's some hilariously bad, out of place lines said by the characters during pivotal moments. It just shows how the writing is a big screw up overall. For instance, a big hurdle with the first-person 'found footage' sub-genre is that somewhere along the line the writer needs to address why Character A is continually 'shooting' during the usually horrific events. The most common explanation is some belief that people need to know what happened. Diary takes it a step further by alluding to the current 'YouTube' trend of media transparency. While admirable, there's situations where the character's obsessive compulsion to shoot is wildly out of place and shatters suspension of belief - and a main character in particular just comes off as an ass who doesn't understand the weight of the situation. "Why is he still filming?" is asked at all of these found footage movies, but it's too much of a credible question with this movie. More on the writing, I noticed an interesting facet of the dialogue. All the characters seem to speak in lyric, expressing themselves through poetic mini-monologues. This overly dramatic style is reminiscent of anime, JRPGs, stage plays, soap operas, and WWE. As such, the spoken lines are way out of place for something meant to capture 'reality', even if it's 'fake reality'. The best way to film found footage movies is for the cast to improvise scenes, this movie very obviously intends for characters to say certain things a certain way. And again, the style is random and out of place. This leads me to believe that the movie probably would have been better served with a traditional presentation, where the dialogue would have fit better (although still bad writing). Romero's knack for social commentary is spoon fed to you, in case you're too dense to understand. I didn't mind that, though - it was the least of the movie's issues. In any case, I couldn't stop watching, and I liked seeing classic zombies stumbling around again. |
Welcome to the Dollhouse - 7/10
This is hard to rate. The characters are really good, but there isn't really a plot. The film just kind of follows a girl around as she gets picked on in junior high. I guess that's part of the message of the film and what makes it more true to life. It's billed as a dark comedy, but most of it is really just depressing. I don't mind that, but it wasn't what I expected. |

didn't know Jason Segel is in it until like 2 weeks ago though |

|

|
Reefer Madness - 10/10 - Wildly entertaining.
Dead Reckoning - 6/10 - I watched some old black and white movies on AMC today. why not. |
Night at the Museum - 3.5/5
This was on FX all day so I gave it watch. Pretty good, nice to see Dick Van Dyke in another film. |
Public Enemies was meh.
|
From Dusk til Dawn 6/10
Tarantino vampire flick w/George Clooney. Not too bad. |
Zombieland - 8/10
Extract - 6/10 Bruno - 7/10 Funny People - 9/10 |
Sherlock Holmes - 8.5/10
|
G. I. Joe, The Rise of Cobra: 6/10
Great action but the ending sucked balls. |
The Invention of Lying - 8/10
I dunno, I really liked this movie for some reason. |
Up - 10/10
great flick |
Up: It was ok, but I thought it would hold my attention a little better then it did. Not really my kind of cartoon/animated movie. 5/10
Land of the Lost: I wasn't expecting much, so it was decent. There were a few really funny parts, but you kind of have to be a Will Ferrel fan to find them funny I guess: 7/10 District 9: In the beginning of this movie, I was like what the fuck is this. horrible. but then after about 20 minutes it became awesome. loved the rest of the movie. It was kind of a refresher to be rooting for the aliens against the humans. 9/10 |
Ong Bak 2 - 4/5
Can't wait for part 3! |
District 9 5/10
Not what I was expecting. |
Miller's Crossing - 5/5
Boy, the Coen Bros. sure know how to make a movie. And Gabe Byrne was the man back in the day. |
Public Enemies 7/10
I enjoyed it, but it wasn't that great. For some strange reason Im sticking by The Untouchables as my favorite Gangster Movie even though I know that it wasn't nearly as factually accurate. |
The Good The Bad and The Ugly - 10/10. Why not? It was good enough. Very cheesey with the western music whenever Clint Eastwood was on screen.
|
Trailer Park Boys The Movie: 9/10 funny
|
lol
|
Well, it was.
|
Goodbye Solo - About the friendship between a Senegalese cab driver and an old southern white guy. Thematically the film digs deep, but I guess it was the interaction between the two main characters that really made the film exceptional. 9/10
|
The Magic Roundabout (UK version) 8/10. Pretty good for a childrens film. I admit, I chuckled at a few points. Worth checking out if you have a young kid or young relatives over.
I found out that the US version, called "Doogal", is awful. I watch a comparison video and, for some reason, they replaced all the UK actors with US ones, changed the dialouge and threw in a bunch of fart jokes and pop culture references which is sort of the opposite of what the film is supposed to be. One character even talks about Master Chief from Halo. Kinda bugs me that they ruined a decent film (and other tv shows in the past) just because it was full of English people. |
Law Abiding Citizen - 8/10
Took me by suprise how much I enjoyed this. |
avatar - 7/10

Observe and Report - 0/10. Good lord it was terrible.
