Most fun I've had with a mega man game since I discovered mega man. The second one should of been the capcom endorsed fan game instead of that piece of shit street fighter one.

Seriously, go play these. They're free and they're fun as hell.

Where did you get these? They sound interesting.

Fignuts 01-31-2013 11:10 PM

Just google it. There are links for them everywhere. I'd copy and paste a link for you but I haven't figured out how to do that on my phone.

Kris P Lettus 01-31-2013 11:28 PM

UFC 3
Skate 3
Kingdoms of Amalur

And I picked up Sniper but haven't checked it out yet..

Older games are harder than games today. Today we can beat a game in just a few hours where as before we could play some games for weeks and still not beat it. One game I've never beaten to this day was the dos game The Dark Heart of Uukrul.

DaveBrawl 02-01-2013 09:53 AM

My brother bought Nightshade for the NES shortly after we got the system and we never could beat it. I found game genie codes for it a last year, because people apparently make their own now, and we still could not beat it because one of the early bosses glitch you into a never ending loop of knocking you down so you can't get up and pushing you against the wall so you just stay down.

We decided it's impossible to beat that game.

Bad News Gertner 02-01-2013 10:57 AM

My gf is a retro game collector and the old games are definitely harder because a lot of thecontrols are fucking terrible.

Oh and Kirby's Pinball for Game Boy 10/10. Best Game Boy game ever.

And the Infinite sequel says it might not be the same storyline as these 2.

The first couple were told in more of an Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged kind of vein. I’ve heard Ken Levine might just leave it open to players’ own interpretations as to whether or not there’s any link between BioShock Infinite’s world and those of BioShock & Bioshock 2

Depends on what you mean by “older”...are you talking about as recently as the PS2/XBOX/GCN gen consoles or farther back than that? Because if you’re talking PS1 and before I would say, yes, definitely.:yes::yes:

Also, am stoked to play through BioShock Infinite normally after picking it up and then giving 1999 Mode, which will, according to Irrational Games’ Ken Levine, be much more than just a tougher difficulty to try to get through the game on...apparently had some inspiration from spiritual predecessor System Shock 2 which maybe coincidentally, maybe not (thinking the latter) released in 1999.

Ever tried the original Ninja Gaiden? Fuck me, that’s the most insane shit in the history of insanity!!!

Ninja Gaiden 2 is harder imo.

Yes, older. As in the NES days

It is pretty tough, till you get the level patterns down. 6-2 was the game defining stage IMO. I could get through the game to that point in 1 life. There is a god damn eagle that infinitely respawns at one of the last jumps, but you have to time it JUST right, or it hits you and sends you plunging to your death. Outside of that, 6-3 is a walk and then it is on to the 3 boss fights, with the 2nd one (Jaquio) being the toughest.

LOVE the damn series. NG II was MUCH easier and III was the first one I beat.

Kris P Lettus 02-02-2013 08:40 PM

Ghosts and Goblins on NES is the hardest game of all time..

Yes, games of yesteryear are mostly based on Arcade games which involved timing, coordination and skills to beat. They were made that hard to keep you pumping quarters into the machines. Also now that we have saves all you really need to be a video game now is time.

No way. Ninja clone makes things easier.

And dying on the final boss and getting sent all the way back to 6-god damn 1, is one of the biggest fuck yous in gaming history.

One of the hardest for sure! Never beat the damn thing w/o Genie. That is one game that could have used saves.

Indeed. I remember when buying a memory card for N64/PSOne and 2 were NECESSARY for some games. I had 2 memory cards for CAW's alone on 64 :D

Raven Reaper 02-03-2013 06:52 PM

Dead Space... It makes Ridley Scott's Alien movie looked tame!! Even on Normal mode, I still got stuck in Chapter 5 where I face that fucking alien that keeps regenerating even if I blew off its limbs to pieces in the surgery room full of dead bodies... Worse, I run out of ammo!!! Dammit.. Other than that, it's a good game to play at night for those boo moments with the dead bodies jumping at you!!!

I don't remember, I probably avoided it for that very reason.

Haze 02-04-2013 09:38 AM

Just got Fall Out 3 and Oblivion.

Other than that I have Dead Island that I never finished last year, and then a bunch of other games I am going through trying to 100% the achievements.

Kris P Lettus 02-04-2013 10:36 AM

Both of those games are amazing..

Did you get the original Oblivion or the GOTY version??

whiteyford 02-04-2013 11:42 AM

I kinda broke Oblivion when I played it, leveled up wrong and couldn't get any further since I couldn't kill ghosts, fantastic up till then though.

whiteyford 02-04-2013 05:08 PM

Just started Lollipop Chainsaw, only up to stage 2 or 3 but giggling like a drunk all the way through it.

I got it off the Xbox Market place, so I think the regular version...

Also I just got my Xbox last year, and have been back tracking trying to pick anything I might have missed in the last couple of years that is worth picking up. So far I have...

Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 (Complete)
Skyrim (Complete)
Halo: Reach (Complete)
L.A. Noire (Complete)
Dishonored (Complete)
Red Dead Redemption (Complete)
Fable 2 and 3 (Complete)
Hitman: Absolution (Complete)
Batman Arkham City (Complete)
Portal 1 and 2 (Complete)
Walking Dead (Complete)

Still have to finish up:
Dead Island
Borderlands
I Am Alive
and Fez

Raven Reaper 02-05-2013 07:58 PM

SPOILER: show
Finished Dead Space 2.. Got backstabbed twice by both hot-ass women.. At first, Kendra and Daina should be like sidekicks much like Halo's Cortana. But NNOOOOO..

Those fucking exploding babies and the toddler ones are the creepiest of them all.. Their screams scarred my nightmares permanently. Scariest levels: The nursery day-care and that Unitology Church indoctrination... Who are these awesome yet twisted people?

Drakul 02-06-2013 05:22 AM

No interest in DS2 but that's got to be spoilers. You should tag it [spoiler][/spoiler$] remover the $.

stultiloquy 02-06-2013 11:16 PM

Just started Asura's Wrath.

This game is (unintentionally) hilarious and fun, with good art direction too...not very deep at all in the gameplay department, but fun nonetheless.

We'll see where it goes, but I salute Capcom for taking a bit of a gamble with this one.

Tommy Gunn 02-07-2013 05:54 AM

Just started Deus Ex: Human Revoultion... It's amazing. Definitely going to take my time with it.

After that I have Bioshock 2 and Dishonored in their shrink wrap waiting to be opened.

Black Widow 02-07-2013 08:53 AM

Mario Kart 64
dark souls
wwe 13

Kris P Lettus 02-07-2013 07:58 PM

I've been rocking Skate 3 alot.. I love this series and think it is super underrated..

Actually, all three of them are pretty fucking hard. They can give you all the fire wheels, ninja clones, and god swords they want, but it's all about the precise platform jumping while dealing with perpetual enemies with the worst possible spawn points.

Currently playing:

Been addicted to Dungeon Defenders as of late. Wish I picked that game up before it being on sale for Christmas... wasting more time than I realize grinding like I'm playing Diablo and I don't know anyone else with the damn thing to co op.

Hoping the Scott Pilgrim online multiplayer DLC delay isn't another six months in the making. I wanna 4 person brawl, Ninja Turtles/Simpsons/X-Men/Avengers style!

RoXer 02-09-2013 02:22 AM

Games I've Beaten in 2013:

Max Payne 3 - 80
Driver: San Francisco - 77
Shift 2 Unleashed - Holy Shit I Don't Care
Dead Space 2 - 77

This was A LOT better than the first one.

For starters, I played on casual to try and get through it as quick as possible. I know you're not supposed to and to play and normal or harder is the recommended setting but I didn't have time for all that. I also played I'd say about 70% of the game with my speakers on and in a darkish environment. Even under those settings, there were still plenty of "scary" moments and if I cranked up the difficulty a little would have probably been tougher to get through also. I didn't feel like a "space janitor" in this one either, I felt like I had a purpose and was actually working toward something. It probably helped from Issac being able to talk. The visuals were A LOT better too than in the first. Just about everything was improved. Didn't try multiplayer, don't really care.

Working On: Blops 2, The Walking Dead, inFamous 2, God of War 3, God of War: Origins, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Halo 4, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Assassin's Creed 3, Deus Ex, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Spelunky, Dear Esther, Trine 2, Super Meat Boy, Metal Gear Solid Collection, maybe Portal 2 co-op

I played a crap ton of the first Skate it first came out. Then I got hooked on COD and skipped over 2 and 3. Finally played both of them last year and 3 is amazing. The improvements from 2-3 compared to 1-2 makes the 2nd one seem like a shitty dlc game. That and the fact that you can actually buy the entire map from 1 and 2 as DLC for 3 makes 3 the winner, no contest.

Problem is, there really isn't anywhere to go from there. They made such a great game there's really nothing to improve on. There's already a crapton of tricks in it and if they added any more it would probably feel awkward trying to do them since most of the configurations are taken.

I started on the first one yesterday, Guts Man is horrible to play as. Huge fucking robot and he dies in four hits from a metool. Otherwise it's a pretty cool fan game so far. Just have to finish Fire Man's level then Wily's Castle I guess.

Oh also, NI NO KUNI.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare DLC. Never got to play the main game cos I got lucky I guess in buying this instead cos the main game is just pretty much any gun slinger Wild West movie anywhoo.

Gutsman is either love it or hate it it seems. I personally like his stage. It forces you to slow down and think more strategically.

The wily stages are the best part of the first game. If you've enjoyed the game so far, you'll really like the next part.

And the robot masters in 2 are more fun.

Oh and when you play 2 make sure you get all the hidden blue squares. The reward is awesome.
