Iron Man 2 was real good. I'd probably give it a solid 8.5.

Downfall 10/10
A L'INTERIEUR 9/10 |
Con Air - 7/10. I should watch more movies.
|
kick ass - 8/10
|
Iron Man 2 - 7/10, standard sequel
|
Låt den rätte komma in - 9.5/10 dunno, fucking loved this movie
|
Kick-Ass 2/10
Pointless movie. |
Iron Man 2
5/10 Dunno that was all a bit crap really, fuck all happened. 5 probably a generous score really. |
Iron Man 2 - 83
Great in IMAX |
The Pianist - 10/10
A beautiful movie that I never want to watch again. |
Unforgiven - 5/5
Eastwood was baaaaaaaaaaad dude. |
The Princess Bride - 7/10.
Hes Just Not That Into You - Yeah, I sat down and tried to watch it but only made it halfway. 0/10. |
Kids - 72
Kind of amazing how slang hasn't evolved in 15 years. |
Slang is more accurately a devolution of language.
*sips tea* http://akvis.com/img/examples/colori...ntleman-bw.jpg Be gone. |
I know I'm going to get shit for this.
There Will Be Blood: 2 out of 5 stars. Super boring. |
Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa.
I took a film class this semester and I loved what I saw by Kurosawa. It was so fucking dark and nihilistic. The movies have this terribly negative moods to them that reflect the attitude of the Japanese after World War II. Seven Samurai is by far one of the more action packed movies by Kurosawa..less atmospheric tho. Not as good as Rashomon but excellent regardless. 9 out of 10. |
Serenity (The Firefly Movie) - 8/10
Fucking loved this movie. Loved the show Firefly. I loved the whole concept of the "space western." I really just wish there was more to it than one season. Felt they could have had a nice overarching story than a bunch of separate ones. Felt like one season left a lot of stories unfinished. Anyways, the movie is pretty good. I don't think it's necessary to watch the series beforehand (because the series precedes the movie), but some of the relationships are better understood by watching the series first. |
Wanna watch There will Be Blood now
|
The Breakfast Club
9/10 |
Robin Hood: 9.5/10
Awesome movie. Prince of Thives is one of my top 20 movies ever, so I had to really tell myself not to try and compare it with it going in. But it was a totally different story and take on everything. This kind of goes back and shows how Robin eventually becomes the outlaw that he'll forever be. The guy who played King John is like the perfect King John. The Sheriff of Notingham in this movie was a goofball, unlike Alan Rickman's version in Price of Thieves. Lots of great action and good buildup to the ending. From the looks of it, I think we may get a sequel. |
Iron Man 2: 7/10 Entertaining, didnt enjoy it as much as the first one.
|
Alice In Wonderland - Regular Version - 7/10
Quite surprised how much I enjoyed this one after the Burton abortion of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory |
Moon - 7/10
|
Seems like everyone here watches the same movies. Lovely.

Legion 7/10

I went to see Robin Hood. I thought it was a tad long but covered an amazing amount of ground in the time it took. 9/10 On your recommendation I am downloading Prince of Thieves right now |

Watching it right now. I am certain that Costner is not a good actor. Freeman is quite cheeky. 45 minutes in and honestly I like the new one better but its still good. |
Hellboy: Golden Army 4 out of 5 stars.
|
The Hangover - 8/10
Iron Man 2 - 9/10 |
iron man 2 8.5/10
|
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - 4.5/5
|
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
7/10 Alot worse then the previous two. |
But still 7/10?
|
Knowing some of the TPWW average scores Rotten Tomatoes style for some of these films would be quite fun.
|
It wasnt a bad movie by any sense, just nowheres near the first two.
|
is 7/10 supposed to be too high of a score, or too low of one?
I thought that movie was horrible, and I liked the first. Second was a good sequel but nothing I wanted to really see again |
Ok, fine. 6/10
|
7/10 is usually my go to number for when I feel like a movie was okay but nothing special. If I go lower than that it usually means there was something(s) wrong with it. I probably would give At World's End a 5/10 because it isn't really Robocop 3 ridiculous, but it also doesn't break any new ground and does reuse all of Jack Sparrow's one-liners. The score was good.
|
The Running Man - 9/10
|
Synecdoche, New York
9.9/10 Don't know how this movie exists |
Iron Man 2 8/10
|
Daybreakers 7/10
|
Spirited Away - 9/10
I don't really like anime but this movie was phenomenal. A lot of underlying implications about growth and maturity and a pretty soundtrack and crazy looking "monsters"/"spirits." Love this |
Speedway Junkie
8/10 surprisingly good indie flick from 2000 that stars Jesse Bradford who goes to Vegas to try and earn cash to move to Charlotte to race cars features a rare cameo from Jonathan Taylor Thomas as a street wise male hustler |
The Game 7/10
Hadn't seen it before. It was a pretty good thriller. The premise sort of dominated the movie, and most decisions seemed to be in the interest of the viewing experience, rather than making much sense. For instance, if you think about the motives and reactions to the reveal at the end, you're not going to get much sense. Still, it's a skillfully made thriller and fun to watch. |
Observe and Report - 5/10 - Had a few laughs, but seemed to be loosely strung together scenes of stuff that didnt really make a lot of sense.
Avatar - 1/10 - CGI looked cool, thats about all the movie had going for it in my opinion. |
Tekken: The Avenging Fist
7/10 It was a whole lot better than I thought it be. It's in Chinese (Cantonese), so over seas movies are hard to tell what your getting. The effects were cool, but I did get tired of them. Story was ok at first, then they rushed everything and then it was the end. Since I only played Tekken a handful of times, I'm not able to say much about it to the game. A few reviews I read thought it was ok and not the worse game movie. |
Where The Wild Things Are - 8/10
Really liked this movie. All the characters in the other world were different people in his life, or different aspects of himself. Was about a kid just trying to deal with some rough circumstances in his life, and distant/difficult relationships with the people around him. |
Robin Hood - 4 out of 5 (8 out of 10)
Good action scenes for a short film and a decent prequel to the Robin Hood story. Only thing I didn't like was the random switch from turning Robin from hero to outlaw as the ending since it was too brief and out of nowhere based on the rest of the film. |
The Sixth Sense - I knew the twist before I watched it, but I never sat down and actually watched the movie. I'll give it 7/10.
Bio-Dome - 2.5/10 Really stupid. |
Legion - 2/5
Uh huh. |
Latter Days
7/10 |
The Book Of Eli
4/10 :| |
The Damned United
8/10 |
The Road 7/10
Had it's ups and downs. Some parts were top notch, while others were just a bit boring. Overall, a good film and worth the watch. |
Iron Man 2 - 4/5
|
I am tired of accidentally clicking the thread title rather than go to last page. To make that experience a little less miserable I have inserted Stacy Keibler into the first page.
|
Iron Man 2 - 6/10
|
Airheads - 6/10
The Shining - 10/10. Good stuff. |
Body of Lies - 7/10
Dunno, I do enjoy a good middle-eastern espionage type shindig, formulaic as it may be |
Prince of Persia 7/10
|
Pirate Radio - 7/10.
|
The Lookout
8.5/10 Joseph Gordon Levitt is goods |
The Road - Stayed true to the book, when I found out that Charlize Theron was cast as the wife I thought they were going to develop this compex back story or something, but they managed to keep the ambiguity of the novel. Despite a good director and strong actors I still felt like something was missing though. 8/10
Lovely Bones - Dumb as hell. 4/10 Crumb - Pretty amazing documentary about an eccentric "underground artist" and his two mentally ill brothers. 9/10 |
Quote:
Legion 2/5 - Could basically give it the same review except replace Quaid for Dafoe this flick was just plain wrong on so many levels and I'm not even religious yeesh. Lovely Bones 3/5 - Can see how this one may not be everyones cup of tea but I found it interesting enough reminded me visually somewhat of What Dreams May Come definetly a rental. |
Iron Man 2 - 4/5
Less suit + more serious = Win. |
A superhero movie without one-liners is so odd. They had Rhody almost exclusively deliver them (and noted it in dialogue).
|
What about The Dark Knight?
|
Joker and Gordon had some cool one-liners.
|
Though yeah, TDK was similarly natural with its dialogue generally.
|
The Pursuit of Happyness - 8/10
A pretty good feel-good film with great performances from Will Smith and his son (very impressed with the youngster). |
Crazy Heart - 3.5/5
Felt like The Dude went country. |
Kick Ass - 7.5/10
The Bounty Hunter - 6.5/10 |
2012
4.5/10 Great effects but everything else was meh or lacking |
Defendor 9/10
|
Exit Through the Gift Shop - 9/10
Directed by Banksy. This was "fantastic." To sum it up quickly, some dumb French guy who took his camera everywhere tried to make a "documentary" about Bansky and other street artists, but Bansky thought the doc was ridiculous so he took over and made a documentary about the guy who was making the documentary about him. Really entertaining. Also good "commentary" about "the art scene." Highly Recommended Capitalism: A Love Story - 7/10 Pretty good. Learned some stuff made me "furious" but only seemed to "scratch the surface" or something. Andy Warhol: The Complete Picture - 6/10 Was OK. Learned some kewl stuff but the doc was done kind of boringly. Conspirators of Pleasure - 6/10 Jan Svankmajer movie pretty much showing each character carrying out some weird ass sexual fetish. No real "story," no dialogue at all. Was really good for the first hour or so then started to kind of get tired of it. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F-S-JSvF7l...nci+slasti.jpg Celestial Navigations: Shorts of Al Jarnow - 7/10 Short film/animation collection of a guy who did a ton of Sesame Street animations back in the 60s/70s. Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas - 9/10
Never watched it all the way through before. |
Robin Hood (Ridley Scott's version) - 3.5/5
I dunno. I'm now wondering who's right in the history aspect of Robin Hood. The BBC TV show, or this movie. |
Spoorloos (The Vanishing) 7/10
|
Prince of Persia 5/10
Eraserhead 4/Sparrows/freewalking/underhill |
Defendor - 8/10
Not that bad, the ending was a bit different than I expected. It was missing something though and I cant quite explain what that is..which is why I gave it an 8. Also, I saw Batman Returns in its entirety for the first time yesterday on HDNet. Prior I had only seen bits and pieces of it and never the ending. WTF was up with the Penguin army? Seriously? 5/10 |
The penguin army isn't out of the realm of possibility in Burton's Batman though. Or did you think it was just not a feasible plan for the Penguin to hatch overall?
|
Quote:
If they put the Penguin in as a villain in the 3rd Batman coming up, I hope they steer away from the Devito version since I always liked the 60's tv version..but somehow I doubt they'll go with the Penguin as a villain. |
Get Him to the Greek - 8.5/10
Not as good as Sarah Marshall but still very funny. |
Armored 8/10

Funny Games (U.S) - 8/10 - I haven't seen the original, but this is a shot-for-shot remake written and directed by the same guy. The wikipedia description makes it sound like it will be Hostel-esque in brutality. It is not. Very well done.
|
The Wolfman - 7/10
|
I love you Philip Morris- 9/10
|
Lovely Bones: 7/10
Kind of wierd. a little too wierd. and this movie pissed me off because Mark Walberg never beat the shit out of the killer. And then they didn't even catch him. He just falls off a cliff and dies out of nowhere at the end. wtf |
The Replicant - 3/5
I learned to like it. |
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans - 9/10
Bad title, great film. Nicolas Cage is outstanding. |
