Alien 3 - 2.5/5 Easily the worst in the franchise no wonder I held off watching this for so long I remember how crappy it looked in the trailers.

Toy Story 3 - 4/5 I'd have to say that although I didn't find this one as funny as either of it's predecessors but made for it in it's concept very well done.

Fucked up thing is I was mentioning this to a co-worker today. For no other reason, this:

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aOGfN4gkv_I&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aOGfN4gkv_I&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

I thought the acting was good and there were some scenes I generally enjoyed. However, and maybe because ive been hearing about the movie for so long, I just felt like it took forever to get going, and when it finally did nothing really happened.

Its just the showing of a guy gradually going crazy, but I felt like the ultimate payoff just wasnt there. I dunno, like I said, the movie just didnt do it for me. It never drew me in.

The Sorcerers Apprentice - Starring Nic Cage & That Other Guy From She's Not Into You

I give this movie a 9 out of 10.

It was funny. It was family friendly. It had plenty of action. It was just all around fun.

Nic Cage plays the typical Nic Cage role, he does nothing special
The other guy is the same way. He plays the same gimp as he always does. He is like Michael Cera the 3rd...right after Jesse Eisenberg from Zombieland. Just another schlub.

That didn't take away from the film at all. Like I said it was funny, full of action and had a really good flowing plot.

PorkSoda 07-15-2010 06:36 PM

The Blind Side - 9/10. Should have been a better actor for Michael.
Lethal Weapon - 10/10.

thedamndest 07-15-2010 06:38 PM

Considering you rated Lethal Weapon 4 8/10 you should probably rate Lethal Weapon 35/10.

PorkSoda 07-15-2010 06:59 PM

It's a 12/10 at the most for me. I don't think its 35 points over the limit.

From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money - 9 out of 10. What can I say I love cheesy camp..and this film was exactly that. Played out similar to the first film without any of the class but like I said..it went for campy and it succeeded.

Vastardikai 07-22-2010 01:12 PM

The Runaways - 7/10

Dakota Fanning, as much as she is the anti-christ, really got into this role. I was impressed. Kristen Stewart. Can't. Fucking. Act. There were scenes where we are meant to play off her 'sexiness,' and I'm like "No." But I loved the story. I felt like it was one that needed to be told. The Runaways were a really underrated rock group.

Michael Douglas is the correct spelling. I put the Mitchel (sp?) in there to try and be humerous.

Inception 4.5/5 - I'd have to disagree with those that claimed it was Nolan's best don't get me it was an excellent film but I didn't feel it was as well crafted as the likes of TDK but certainly better then The Prestige.

LIFE DURING WARTIME - 8/10

New Todd Solondz movie (Happiness, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Palindromes). I feel like if this was any other director, I would have given it a 9 at least. It was still really good but was pretty much Happiness 2 and kinda rehashed a few of the same jokes and is kinda "overshadowed" by how good Happiness was, so felt slightly disappointed.

Still really good though. Need to see it again.

Survival Of The Dead - The laterst work of George Romero. I loved the premise be it somewhat old hat at this point I just love most of what George creates and this is no different. I give it 8/10 for the originalities in the plot.

Staunton Hill - The directorial debut of George Romero's son Cameron. I liked it at first and then got bored in the middle but the killings and plot holes came to a head nicely. The end was a bit of a wash. Good first outing but far too art house like for a slasher flick. Think House of a 1,000 Corpses meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre. 6/10.

Dead Snow - Norwegian NAZI ZOMBIE flick. Very creative and very gruesome kills. Lagged a bit in the beginning but once the action got under way it flowed a lot better. 8/10.

Lock Jaw 07-30-2010 02:02 AM

Finally got around to watching the two Pirates of the Caribbean sequels.

Dead Man's Chest: 8/10. Not as good as the first one, but still fun. Doesn't really have an ending due to its nature as a split film.

At World's End: 6.5/10. Felt really different than the first two, and seemed to take the story off in another direction. The whole thing could have been simplified, but they wanted to make it "epic". Which, granted, they did by the end.
SPOILER: show
Also, that totally wasn't a happy ending at the end for Will and Elizabeth, but they played it off like it was. They can only see each other once every 10 years? That's kinda sad, bro. Logical thing to do would have been to have Bootstrap be the one to stab the heart and become the new captain. Was certain they were going this root, as it seemed to be the only one. I was wrong.

Granted the whole thought of the apocalypse and the world ending being extremely scary, Hollywood had to ruin the movie with a love angle. Granted the special effects were phenomenal, the whole love angle killed it. Without it might have gotten a better review in my opinion, but eh.

Dinner With Schmucks - Steve Carell & Paul Rudd

3/10

What a MISERABLE movie. You know those scenes in The Office where Michael Scott just makes you squirm in your seat in embarrassment? This ENTIRE movie was like those unbearable scenes of embarrassment.

The only tolerable ( and the only funny part) of the film was the actual dinner which circumferences maybe 20 minutes of the film.

Don't waste your time unless you like to be tortured.

Carell did not create anything new here. Instead he put in false teeth and acted like the unbearable side of his Michael Scott character.

Paul Rudd typically plays the cute, lovable loser very well (see I Love You, Man) but here he is inept, unfunny, not charming & at times interoperable to watch. I have loved every Rudd role from Wet Hot American Summer to The 40 Year Old Virgin - This is his weakest performance to date.
