True Grit - 7.5/10 I guess. Already posted about it in its thread.
3 Woody Allen movies: Manhattan Murder Mystery - 7/10 Stardust Memories - 6/10 - Really liked some of this but felt "underwhelmed" overall. The Purple Rose of Cairo - 4/10 - Kinda really disliked this. Seemed like a movie that people who didn't like Woody Allen's regular movies would "love." |
Pawnee - D.
Fuck this movie. It is racist garbage. |
12 Rounds - 4/10
Come the fuck on, John. You cannot act for shit. I mean, yeah, you were surrounded by utterly terrible actors (I can't believe the villain is the Mayor from The Wire and he is so shit in this movie), the scripted lines you were given are fucking terrible, but still. Work with this shit, man! Basically just watching shit get blown up for like 2 hours and it wasn't even that entertaining. Best part was when the chick gets hit by the car and John has the same look he had when he got "fired" on RAW. |
Also, when he's at the firehouse and finds out he has only so much time to get to the next building to get the bank boxes and he fucking WAITS AROUND for the fire trucks to roll out? Are you kidding me? Hmm, my wife is going to die if I'm not fast enough, but maybe I should wait for the fire trucks. COME ON.

The King's Speech - 5/5
|
The Social Network.
It was pretty good but not great. I would give it 6.9 I guess. Like a 2.5 star movie. |
Carlos - Ambitious mini series/movie about the terrorist Carlos the Jackal. Informative, but really entertaining, and I liked that it makes no attempt to romanticize the terrorist at all as he comes off as not an idealist but a huge narcissist. The portion involving the raid of the OPEC meating was one of the most thrilling things i've seen in a long while. 9/10
Police Adjective - A Romanian film about a cop pursuing a teenager who is giving weed to his friends, apparently Romania has really strict laws when it comes to this and the kid could receive up to 8 years. The cop doesn't want to go after the kid because he doesn't want to ruin his life and he has witnessed first hand the more relax drug laws in other European countries and thinks things will change in Romania. The ending turns into this exercise in dialectics where his boss makes him look up words in a dictionary. Probably sounds boring as hell and the movie is very slow but I thought it was incredible. 9/10 Machete - 7/10 |

Knucklehead-2.5/10. OMG perhaps the worst movie I've ever seen in my life. I mean the script and dialogue was extremely corny as hell and it tries too hard to be funny, the jokes are extremely lame and Big Show shows that he cannont carry a movie, hell even the other actors are weak and the score is pretty much the only good thing about this film. Perhaps the worst WWE film ever made, yes its even worse than The Marine & 12 Fucking Rounds -_-
|
Hannah and Her Sisters - 10/10
Incredible. I watched this like 12 years ago and barely remembered anything about it for some reason. Def in my top 3 Woody Allen movies. "Brilliant." My Flesh and Blood - 10/10 My god, this is one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life. Jesus. Was "riveting" for every second. Felt like crying like 6,000 times. Never seen anything like this. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xDIhXB5c0cA?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xDIhXB5c0cA?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> |
Frozen: 8/10
Really liked this one. It's about 3 kids that get stuck on a ski lift that's like 80 feet up in the air and the park is closed. fucking ridiculous. movie held my attention the entire time. reminds me of that movie Open Water a little bit. |
Solitary Man: 8/10
Pretty apt depiction of a man's complete and total fall from grace. Michael Douglas in particular was fantastic, and I was pleasantly surprised by Jenna Fischer's performance in a semi-demanding dramatic role. |
Dirty Harry 9/10
Blade Runner 8/0 I liked it, but it was really weird. |
The Green Hornet
2/10 What a load of shit, terribly unfunny and Seth Rogans character was truely unlikeable |
Thx a lot. Gunna go see that tomorrow. In beautiful imxa 3d
|
Green Hornet:
Saw it in IMAX. I don't feel it was worth the $16.50. I wouldn't have had a problem if it were just 2d. Not much 3d I could really notice, except for the credits. Rogan played an obnoxious playboy, but he wasn't even the worst part of the movie. Cameron Diaz annoyed the fuck out of me. I noted at least 4 different Bruce Lee references. 1 was VERY obvious. 2 were basically trademarks. the 4th was incredibly subtle, which I'll throw in a spoiler tag below... SPOILER: show Jay Chou saved the movie in many ways, and I felt the movie was more about Kato than the Hornet. That could possibly be a 5th Bruce Lee reference, considering how, in China, the TV series was called "the Kato show." And similarly, many of Lee's fighting scenes were allegedly cut from the show to keep him from overshadowing the Hornet. Even then, it didn't work. In the Green Hornet thread, I mentioned how they could make the movie work with the casting. That was actually the direction they went. Hence, I give the movie 7/10. It was good, but not great. |
Cameron Diaz has to be in the running for Most Overrated Actress Of Our Generation, and that's taking into consideration that very few people rate her all that highly.
|
The Fountain.
8.8/10 Awesome movie. |
Thirst - 8/10
Fantastic vampire movie from the director of Oldboy. |
The Green Hornet in beautiful IMAX 3D - 73
The Dilemma - 53 |
Kick-Ass - 3/5

Last Airbender - 8/10

Anyway Expendables: 9/10 LOVED it. If you love action movies, you'll love this. really nothing else to say The Exam: 8/10 Good movie. If you like that pyschology type mind fuck shit, you'll like this. 8 people are brought in to answer one question on an Exam and whomever answers correctly gets hired to this company. The whole movie takes place in one room. Descent 2: 5/10 I really liked the first one. Part II is pretty much the same as Part I, but we've got male characters now. Shutter Island: 7/10 It was kind of slow for my taste, but I knew it would be going into it. It did have a nice build to the end though. |

Also, Blade Runner is awesome therefore LC sucks. |
Airbender's better than the negative-hype it got. And there were technical things about it that impressed me.

I love Cameron Diaz btw
|
She should stick to starring in softcore BDSM movies.
|
Kings Speech: 9/10 terrific performances all around
|

More brutal than the original. SPOILER: show Oh well. I officially LOVE BOTH of them now. SPOILER: show P.S. I already saw the 1978 version too BEFORE this remake.. Despite Ebert gave it 0 stars as the original calling it despicable. WELL, TO ME IT WAS DESPICABLE. In a fucking good way.. 5/5 |
Black Swan looks like something that I would not enjoy. possibly a 0/10 there.
Eraser: 8/10 Just watched it this morning. hard to believe I've never seen this as I love action movies. Venessa Williams is hot The Warriors: 9/10 Really really liked this movie. I can see why it's got a cult following as they say. Plus I grew up where some of this movie took place, so that was pretty cool. My Dog Skip: 8/10 Date night movie alert. Nah, I really liked it. fucking dog dies though. that's like the only thing in any movie that makes me tear up. That and the scene where Rudy makes the tackle on the QB. RUDY RUDY RUDY :'( Luke Wilson's character being named Dink was pretty hillarious. |
no strings attached 5/10
|
In Hell 7/10
|
Almost Famous - 7/10
|
Black Swan - 8/10
I was not disappointed with the lesbian blowjob scene. |
The Book of ELI: 9.5/10
Badass movie and a great story to go with it. |
Universal Soldier: The Return
Entertainment wise - 10/10 Storyline/dialogue - 0/10. It's a terrible story with terrible dialogue with horrible one liners from Bill Goldberg. Van Damme kicks Goldberg out a window, landing on a car, Goldberg replies "I hate that guy." Goldberg picks Van Damme up by the throut and says "I never did like you." Goldberg tries to drown Van Damme in muddy water and says "Have a drink." Other than the dialogue and the terrible story, it's entertaining as hell and it's so much fun to watch! Also, Goldberg SPEARS someone! Also, Megadeth's Crush Em is involved in the credits! |
Takers 8/10 Good movie but the ending sucked.

ENTER THE VOID - 9.5/10
This movie is one of the biggest "mindfucks" of a movie I have seen. Felt extremely uncomfortable for like 90% of the movie and was just like mesmerized for the entire thing. "A visual treat." Never really seen anything "quite" like this. Probably not recommended for people "prone" to seizures. From Gaspar Noe, director of Irreversible (that movie with the insanely long rape scene). Here are the opening credits: <iframe title="YouTube video player" class="youtube-player" type="text/html" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/dL0lNGXoP8E" frameborder="0" allowFullScreen></iframe> THE SOCIAL NETWORK - 6/10 I DUNNO it was "OK" I guess. I don't know. I hate Justin Timberlake. I hate how everyone was all cocky and had witty "snarky" dialogue. w/e |
The Social Network - 7.5/10. Maybe it would be higher if I'd seen it earlier or was in a better mood. I don't think so, though. It was quite good, and held my interest strongly. But it was more or less just a very well-crafted account of a current event, unfolding in a very streamlined fashion.
I noticed this about Fincher first with Zodiac, and to a lesser extent, here. It reminds me of All The President's Men. Though he does switch it up here with flash-forwards to legal depositions. The movie also lacks strong characters, and any real weight. Ultimately, I don't feel that The Social Network tells a story that offers anything of substance. Rather, it's content in being interesting and relevant enough to command an audience through a topic from the pulse. And it does that well. And perhaps it shouldn't be any more than that. It's a saga that's still unfolding, and it doesn't really know it's identity yet. It's hard to make a statement at this stage. I don't see how it "defines a generation" or "is a game changer", though. The subject matter certainly might, but not the film itself. I'm not even sure I will see it again, tbh. Buried - 7/10 - I took this on a recommendation. 'Twas pretty enjoyable and engaging, without getting too outrageous. Pretty successful minimalist thriller effort. I only felt they began to stretch it in one place, but it was a short-lived moment. Dinner for Schmucks 5/10. This is saying a lot, but somehow the strange plot was the only thing about this that held me. But I don't know how. It was terribly unfunny. I didn't laugh once, I don't think. It featured 3 or 4 great comedians, so it has no business not drawing some chuckles. They obviously had nothing to work with. On top of that, the entire movie is just oddly sad. Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps 6/10. A competently made sequel to Wall Street. Nothing more. Almost all points are awarded for Michael Douglas greatness, chewing the scenery and delivering some great lines. The story was about as interesting as the original Wall Street, but that was never what mattered in that movie. It was about the statement and that's all lost here. It felt too much like a true sequel to a family story that never existed. The social commentary and themes are pretty disappointing. Especially in the end. I'm not sure if it's because they're under-done, or over-done. It seems like both, in a way. Those who have seen it may understand what I mean. |
The Wolfman
3/10 |
you follow Jeritron's awesome reviews with the Woflman 3/10? wtf is wrong with you. you're better then that JimmyMess

They should have ditched the family angle, chosen a few of the ideas behind the business commentary and focused on those only. |
Louis CK: Hilarious - 8/10
|
Despicable Me 7/10
Felt that they wanted Mike Myers to do the voice instead of Carrell..was funny enough though the minion things got annoying halfway through. |
Clash of the Titans (2010)
8/10 Great action movie. pretty much what I expected it to be. it was nice seeing an updated version though because that one from the 80's was pretty dated. loved the fight with Medusa. |
Dogtooth - Strange and twisted, disturbing yet funny. Hard to get into the plot but everyone should check this out, at times it felt like it was chanelling Bunuel, but really there is nothing out there quite like it. 8/10
|
Virtuosity - 8/10. Russel Crowe was great in this. I'm usually not a fan of Crowe, but he did great in this.
Edward Scissorhands - 10/10. This was incredible. Everything about it was great. Cinematography, the script, the character of Edward and how Johnny Depp portrayed him. It was great. If Edward put on a suit, I wonder if he would be a sharp dressed man |
Machete - 8/10
|
Inception: 8.5/10
|
Dogtooth - 9/10
So good. "Bizarre," funny, "original." Liked this a whole lot. Kinda want to watch it again already. Black Swan - 8.5/10 Really liked it. I usually kinda dislike Natalie Portman but she was great in this. Curse of the Jade Scorpion - 5/10 Meh. Felt very "corny." |
Terminator Salvation - 3/5
Neat effects, couldn't get into it. How to Train Your Dragon - 5/5 A really good movie all around Insepction - n/a I was confused and didn't get to finish it Toy Story 3 - 5/5 How does pixar make me cry all the time? Master and Commander of the Farside of the World - 4/5 It hit a lot of the right notes for me, I don't know if other people like it. |
127 Hours 9/10

Death to Smoochy - 7/10
|
Really hated Machete. 4/10
|
Julie and Julia 2/5
It was so boring. |
Green Street Hooligans 3.5/5
It was very good. A movie everyone must see. |
Black Swan 5/5
It was awesome. It was very similar to The Wrestler. However, it is still a top notch movie. |
True Grit
8/10 I put off watching this out of respect for The Duke, but, bugger me it was bloody good. |

Ninja Assassin - 3/10.
Awful film. |
Unstoppable 8/10
|
Winter's Bone - 9/10.
Had the disc sitting around for a good week and a half now; my girl and I were supposed to go out tonight, but the snow had other plans and as such, movie night was born. Just fantastic. Jennifer Lawrence would have a legitimate chance at an Oscar in another year. I'd recommend watching this before the Oscars (it's on Netflix) just so the level of films in 2010 that stand to walk away with absolutely nothing can be fully appreciated. |
Catfish
5/10 If you didn't see the twist at the end 5 minutes into the movie, you are retarded. Not convinced its real |
Moon 10/10 - really really loved it, Sam Rockwells were awesome
|
MacGruber 63|100
The Tourist 71|100 |
Paper Heart 3/5
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 4/5 Buried 4/5 Eight Men Out 4.5/5 Bronson 2.5/5 Holy Rollers 3/5 |
You Don't Know Jack gets a 9/10 out of me also.
Pacino is brilliant as usual, and absolutely nails everything about Kevorkian's persona. It's eerie. The movie is based upon his camp being the main focus, yet still manages to avoid either endorsing or denouncing either side of the issue, which is no small task and certainly wouldn't have been the case had this project wound up in lesser hands. It'll get you thinking and talking long after the film is over regardless of your personal stance, mostly because it never questions it. Highly recommended. |

King of Kong: Fistful of Quarters
8/10 Most of the people on here would love this documentary. Good stuff I think I've finally seen the most sorriest (is this a real word?) person in the whole world in his movie. So the movie is about this dude who "apprently" broke the world record for Donky Kong Arcade. He "breaks" it at his house with his own machine. He submits his record breaking video he recorded to this insane cult of video game nerds who are the official record keepers of arcade games. These fucking lunatics don't think his machine was legit and think he cheated, so a bunch of them break into his house (WTF????) and start gutting his machine to take pictures of the game board. They finally say he cheated, with no proof what so ever. Oh and by the way, the leader of these freaks was the current record holder at the time. Some serious ridiculous shit here. Anyway, so the rest of the movie is about the guy going to these live events so he could break the record in front of people. Classic "babyface gets cheated out of the title and tries to get his revenge on the heel" storyline here And the guy who's the most sorriest person ever? Well he's a membr of the Twin Galaxies cult in the movie. His job is to sit and watch VHS tapes all day long of people breaking records just to make sure it was legit. THAT'S ALL HE FUCKING DOES. they showed his rat hole where he lived full of VHS Tapes of people playing video games. like 17 hours a day watching tape. unreal. watch this |
Exam - 8/10 (Thanks LC - it was LC that reviewed it before, right?)
Black Swan - 8/10 |

But this seems worthy, considering I get to see Chester Bennington suffer. |
The Town - 8,5/10
Always hated Affleck as an actor, but this is the second movie he directed and the second I really enjoyed. I know it's details but the way they talked kinda annoyed me. No idea what half-assed accent they were going for but it didn't sound anything like Irish. And they were supposed to be Irish, I guess. |
It's a Boston accent. There's a lot of different accents in America that is unique to a certain region. Maybe they are of Irish descent but they are American, not Irish.

Tears of the Sun:
10/10 I'm always a sucker for rescue mission type movies. Three Kings with Clooney comes to mind. Basically Bruce Willis and his team go into the hostile Nigeria to rescue this American doctor, but they end up changing up the mission to rescue the refugees with the Dr as well. They have to get to the Cameroon broder by foot while evading the Nigerian rebels. The last 20 minutes was amazing. great action and storyline. love Bruce Willis |
If you love him so much then why don't you marry him.

I turned around and watched Die Hard right after that. no review needed though because I've seen int 50 times

7/10. LOL@the part where Hopkins was having exorcism on a preggie teen and suddenly his cell phone rings. And after that he made a Exorcist reference to the young priest who has first witnessed his ritual. "What did you expect,?!? Spinning heads and spitting pea soup?!" LOLZ. And this: http://econo-soft.com/uploads/posts/...cialmovie.jpeg 6/10. Despite its obvious run of the mill revenge movie, for once, The Rock has stopped making wholesome family shit movies from Disney.. Fairly decent.. I like the intros of the characters like Feast minus the profile status. All you see are nouns like Cop, Driver (The Rock), and Killer.. |
Closely Watched Trains - 8/10
Pretty funny at points and definitely an absurd story |
Fargo
I thought it was going to be funny. Still good though. Enjoyed it but that's about it. |
The Other Guys - 6/10 - There were some funny parts, but overall, nothing great. I was surprised to see Billy Gunn in it.
