Well I'll only watch it once then.

The Perks of Being A Wallflower - 10/10
|
The Majestic - 10/10.... probably the only Jim Carrey movie I had not seen and it blew me away..... I was very surprised by the low ratings I've read from critics..... I absolutely loved it....
|
Rise of the Guardians - 9/10
|
The Hobbit - Felt like 2002-2003 all over again. I smell an Oscar.. On the same level of awesomeness as LOTR..
10/10.. Yes, the ending really just growls sequel.. |
Men In Black 3 - 8/10 - Best of the 3 easily. Funny but most importantly an interesting story.
Moonrise Kingdon - 10/10 - Probably going to end up at the top of my best films of 2012. |
Argo - 8/10
To say it has Ben Affleck in it (as well as directing), I quite like it. |
Silver Linings Playbook - 79
It was a little long and too intense at times. Was hoping for a more depressing ending when Bradley Cooper talks about how Catherine dies in A Farewll to Arms that Jennifer Lawrence would die at the end too but it didnt happen |

"Starman" starring Jeff Bridges + Karen Allen (1985). Sci-fi but extremely interesting and entertaining. 9.5/10
|
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol - 7.5/10
As weird as Cruise is, he keeps on delivering the goods in these films. Fifth one please. |
Ted - 10/10
Sam Jones made it more awesome. FLASH!!! |

SPOILER: show |
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - 58 I guess.
I dunno. Really liked that scene where the vampire grabs a running horse by the leg and throws it at Abraham Lincoln. |

Like they split the book into parts or something? |
Yes. Split them into parts and adding extra stuff from the Tolkienverse to flesh them out.
It was really good. |
The Hobbit is getting rather mixed reviews over in the UK. If the first film is naff, it is unlikely that I will waste money on seeing the other two. We'll see come Wednesday when I watch it.
|
ted - 5/10 a couple funny jokes but other than that, meh
|
AL:VH was a ridiculous movie but I dunno.
I didn't hate it |
It should've been a completely ridiculous movie. Except in pretty much every scene except that horse one, it tries to play it as straight as possible, and becomes incredibly self-serious.

yeah it was predictable, and the concept of the bear got kinda old pretty fast. but it's a comedy by seth mcfarlane so you can't really expect a whole lot
|
Let The Right One In - 7/10
Creepy film. Probably would have liked it more if the disc hadn't jammed 3 or 4 times, but still. |
That's the original foreign film right? That movie was stellar.
|
The Hobbit - 9/10
|
The hobbit - wife made me go. Never seen lotr or had any desire too for some reason, still, 8/10. Bit long and dryer dialog than Star Wars but a few really good fights and an all around enjoyable cinema experience.
|
Wanderlust - 3/10 - not even Jennifer Aniston & Malin Akerman's hotness could save this one.....
Lucky Number Slevin - 7.5/10 - a friend from high school told me back in the day that I would love this movie when it came out, but I never listened to her and watched it until now.....Morgan Freeman as a bad guy is certainly different..... |
Looper - I'd read a lot about the plotholes in the film, but if you take yourself out from thinking about it too much then it's a really enjoyable action film. The kid actor was a little bit annoying though and probably would've preferred a more sympathetic looking child. You only had to look at this kid once and know he would be evil. JGL was on top form again though and Bruce Willis was Bruce Willis. The scene with the guys limbs disappearing as he's on the run was pretty well done I thought, again if you ignore the obvious plotholes of the scene.
|
The Bay directed by Barry Levinson (Good Morning Vietnam and Sleepers).. Felt like a typical REC-style news report footage but much more intense than the Paranormal shit going on.. Parasite bugs, infected fishes, minus the zombie mode infection on people, it just eats your intestines inside/out.. A breath of fresh air from the Paranormal Activity franchise. That's all.
8/10. P.S. The news reporter Donna Thompson suggests a lesbo-tomboy character hence her Bieber-ish hair. :P |

Also, when I read "lesbo" I expected "lesbo blowjobs". |
The Hobbit - 6.5/10
I didn't dislike the film, but I came out of the cinema rather unsatisfied. I felt like I'd seen a lot of this before in the previous LOTR films, and that they had put stuff in just to drag is out over 3 hours. I'll probably see the other films but I won't waste money on the IMAX. Oh, and the HFR irritated me. |
The Devil's Rock - 4/10
Pretty crappy WW2 set horror. Would have gained a mark if the guy playing the main Nazi character had bothered to even attempt a German accent. |
Total recall 8/10
Really enjoyed it more than I expected. |
Quote:
Insidious - 7/10. Actually genuinely creepy and some decent scares that weren't overly predictable. Lost a bit of momentum towards the end though. |
Remake.
|
Django Unchained - 4.5/5
Ran longer than I thought. Still was a great flick. |
Watched the new Total Recall. Sucked balls. 2/5
Still have no idea what the whole plot was about. |
Django- 80
|
This Is 40: 8.5/10, kinda fascinating.
Django Unchained: 8.5/10, Quentin being Quentin. |
Flight: 6/10
- Mostly enjoyable and Denzel gives a great performance, as should be expected from someone as good as Denzel, but the movie is fairly predictable and aside from the first 30 minutes, it doesn't offer up much suspense or intrigue. |
Ted - 7/10
Not as hilarious as I thought it was going to be. Almost like an extended version of Family Guy, in how McFarlane directed it. Still was entertaining. |
Lincoln -4.5/5
Just a amazing movie. Daniel Day-Lewis did a incredible job portraying the president. I do recommend this movie to everyone |
Flash (ahhhhhhhhhhhh) Gordon - 4.5/5
|
This Is 40 - 8/10
|
Tangled-8/10
First non Pixar cg movie I've seen from Disney, and really enjoyed it. Was a cute movie. |
Chernobyl Diaries: 3.5/10. Just made very little sense.
The Possession: 8/10. Surprise of the year for me. Very unnerving and creepy. |
Up - 9/10
|
FDR: American Badass - 8/10
like a filthy Leslie Nielsen movie written by a lunatic and it was fucking awesome |
Jack Reacher - 68
Ending reminded me of Batman. Jack Teacher isn't the Army detective America but the Army detective America deserves. Bernie - only watched like 60% of it but seems good |
Watched Bernie last night, liked it, Jack Black was really good. 8/10
|
The Shadow - 0/10
Just awful. |
Django Unchained 8/10
The Hooker cult murders 5/10 |
Jack Reacher-7/10
Tom Cruise was good. The villains were undeveloped, as were their motives, but overall an entertaining getaway. |
Fast Five 4/5 was never a fan of the franchise even the original was passable at best although I felt this was a great heist/action flick.
|
The Cabin In The Woods 10/10 for originality, 6/10 for overall enjoyment.
|
John Dies at the End - 9/10
Dead Leaves - 9/10 |

Kung Fu Panda 2-10/10

It wasn't until after I posted my rating that I found out that it's not been released yet. |
The Hunger Games 8.5/10
Not as good as the book, but it was a very good adaption. |
Jack Reacher 3.5/5 great action, tom cruise did great, wish they would of done more backstory on some of the characters but overall enjoyable movie
|
Killer Joe. I have no idea what I just saw. 3/5
|
Life of Pi. Bollywood Disney-ish style of Jungle Book/Castaway. Richard Parker the Tiger felt like the opposite of Shere Khan.
10/10.. Lovely tearjerker movie. |
Lincoln - 4/5
|
finally got around to watching doom. i always heard it was bad but i had no idea.
although the end part with the first person shooter shot was a nice touch |
To Rome With Love - 70
|
Zero Dark 30 - 6.5/10
Fascinating seeing it all play out. Female lead was sub par at best. 2 1/2 hours long, with only the final 20 minutes being any action. I also wonder how accurate it is. Also Osama Bin Laden dies at the end for those of you who don't know. |
Django Unchained - 10/10 - absolutely great, went in thinking how great Leo, Waltz & Foxx would be portraying their parts, but it was Samuel L "Motherfuckin'" Jackson that stole the movie for me.....
Gangster Squad - 8/10 - above average movie, but I watched it 30 minutes after Django and was a bit disappointed by the lack of gore (which I had expected going in), but I think some of that could be blamed on Django being so awesome.... Emma Stone side-boob..... that is all..... |
Django - great
Seven Psychopaths - rather great Zero Dark Thirty - pretty great Celeste and Jesse Forever - Eh Not Fade Away - Good stuff |
is rather great better than pretty great?
|
nah
|
Dredd - 9/10
pretty fucking awesome |
Tower Heist- 3/10 Don't waste your time.
|
Zero Dark Thirty: Some scenes may bore you to death, but this I know. Obama didn't kill Bin Laden. It was some hot-ass bitch CIA agent hat killed him for avenging the death of her CIA BFF. :P Think I have a new crush on her. :) I love how they portray Bin Laden as an "unseen demon" in the background even when he's being shot in the dark in his own house with 2 mistresses and some kids.. . Still, a decent good movie to pass the time. Oscar Best Picture? Nah.
7/10. |
Last movie I saw for the first time was probably 7/10. It was good binder not the best movie I've seen.
|
Dreams of a life
|
The Lorax 6/10
|
Iron Man 2 - 4 out of 5
|
Quote:
|
Django Unchained: Pretty entertaining. I'm not the biggest Tarantino fan but it was fun enough. Del Rio was great in it.
The Hobbit: Good film but I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as any of the LOTR films. The dwarves always were my least favourite race in the franchise, and they don't do anything to develop any of them outside Thorin. |
Total Recall (2012) - 6.5/10
|
Quote:
|
Central Park Five - I get why black people hate the police.
|
Made a deal with my girlfriend, if she watched an MST3k (Track of the Moonbeast) I would watch a movie of her choice. She chose the Vow... 0/10. Idiotic and sentimentally inept. Worst movie I've seen in a long time and the reason chick flicks are stereotyped.
|
Gangster Squad: 6.5/10. Veers damned close to parody at times, but still entertaining. Ryan Gosling is impossibly suave.
|
West of Memphis - 10/10
|
Hit and Run - 60
|
West of Memphis: 8.5/10. As good and succinct a documentary as you can probably get on the subject.
|
Premium Rush - 39
|
Django 10/10
Pretty fucking rad. Enjoyed it the whole way through. Argo 8/10 Really tense, didn't know this had even happened. I read about it afterwards and understand they took a lot of liberties and put a lot more stress on the US involvement than the help Canada and other countries did to make this come together. |
The Last Stand- 7.5/10--- Started slow and the tone was completely different in the first 30 minutes than the rest of the film. Last half is straight up carnage and humor, very reminiscent of Drive Angry with Nick Cage. Solid action and Arnold is great in it.
|
Amazing Spider-Man - 9/10 (GF Score 9/10)
|
Dredd 3D 8/10
Fuck Stallone. |
The Watch-10/10
Waited until it was on BR/DVD to watch it. Completely forgot about the advertising and previews of the story. Great comedy. The British black guy stole the show. Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, and Vince Vaughn were funny to me. They just looked a little aged from the last time I watched their films. |
Silver Linings Playbook - 8.5
I feel like it's the movie Garden State wanted to be. Well-acted, -written, and -shot, if a bit heavy-handed at times, but a good way to spend date night with the missus. |
End of Watch - 77
|
J. Edgar - 6.5/10
Not bad. Structure was a bit all over the place though, which I found a bit off putting. |
Dredd 7.5/10
Silver Linings playbook 6/10 |
