With numbers ranging from 1 to 100
|
I mean how do you come to those numbers?
|
Well the higher the number, the higher the rating it receives from me.
Whereas if it's a lower number, than that means it receives a lower rating. |
Quote:

Yes, yes I am
|
truely sir you are some sort of genious
|
Jesus Christ, You could have said that you just give them numerical ratings based on how much you enjoyed. There really was no need to be a jackass about it.
|
The numerical ratings are not based on how much I enjoyed it, but are based right next to the game title itself.
|
I may not have made myself clear so here is an example
From Dust - 75 The title of the game is in RED whereas the numerical rating is in GREEN. Clearly, you can see that the location of the rating is based right next to the title itself instead of being further down in the post or in a completely different post altogether. This way, it makes for a much smoother and cleaner reading experience. |
|
Can you post the names and ratings in those colors from now on?
|
No, I'm afraid I cannot.
|
Oh, well that is too bad. If you did, perhaps it wouldn't have lead to this misunderstanding.
|
I think "replayability" is the first thing that I look for. Something that keeps me coming back to the game. And then compare it to other games in it's genre. And then consider if it had anything unique about it. And overall fun. I dunno. Lots of stuff
|
Pretty much the same for me, its why I gave DMC4 such a low score. Graphics and Gameplay got a decent rating but setting, ingenuity and replayability all posted low scores.
|
Also, RE5 got a 0 for replayability from me. No way I would torture myself a second time.

Games beaten in 2012:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (9.5/10) Bit.Trip Runner My brother had me play this on Wii when we got stoned. Beat it in one sitting. Simple jump, duck, kick platformer but awesome game nonetheless. And beautiful as hell when high. 10/10 |
Started Mass Effect tonight.
|
I don't know what it is but that game just seems too.......I don't wanna say boring, but at the same time I do. I don't know what it is about that game that makes me not want to play it
|
I don't know what it is either, because the Mass Effect series is my favorite game series of all time. Wouldn't put one of them over the other, because they both have their strengths and flaws, and since the story is a continuation neither is better and it is simply 'the story of Mass Effect'.
Love them, and have played each 4-5 times. |
According to my profile I have the achievement for completing Eden Prime. All I remember is some battle with combat that felt too awkward and maybe it's just that it takes too long to do something? I don't know, to be fair I haven't really given it the old college try. #saystheHSdropout
I may have to try it again once I go on my annual Achievement Quest |
Playing Skyward Sword as the main game for now and a mix of other games on the side.
|
MW3 has taken over my free time, that game is way too addicting...

Games I've Beaten in 2012:
Saints Row: The Third - 86 Ultimate MvC 3 - 80 Mortal Kombat - 85 From Dust - 75 Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition - 60 Skate 3 - 82 Back to the Future: The Game - 70 Even though I didn't finish it, I played enough of Skate 3 to know that it's clearly the best out of the 3 and it's nice to see a game actually improve when it releases sequels. I think there is also some DLC which includes the entire map of 1 & 2 so there's really not much to complain about. Except for the fact that there are no new moves. Not to say that there aren't already a shit ton of moves though, because there are. The only thing added really was a darkslide and underflips. 3 makes 2 feel like 1.5 because there was really nothing added to 2 and I don't know why I even bothered playing it. Playing 2 did nothing but burn me out from playing Skate. 2 added more frustrating components to the game but they listened to the community and took all of that shit out in 3. They even make note of this in like the first 5 minutes of the game, switching the cameraman and making fun of the security guards. It's hard to imagine where they can go from here since they added so much to this. BTTF was disappointing. It felt unpolished. I think I really would have enjoyed it if they did a better job with the lip-synching and better job at directing the cut-scenes. I've seen QUBO cartoons more enthralling than this. I enjoyed the story, and the gameplay is what it is. Great voice-acting though. Working on: Payday: The Heist, Gears of War 3, Resident Evil 5, Dungeon Defenders, Magicka, Bastion, Dark Souls, and I might get the MGS collection soon |
I would've at least rented Rage by now if I only had more than a 20GB HDD, since everyone I've asked tells me it really does take up 22GB, which seems like an awful lot of space for any single game.
|
Started Playing WWE 12, and this game is quickly about to get traded in. I hope I'm not the only one who finds the controls batshit retarded.
Also started playing Soul Calibur IV, really enjoying it. Definitely picking up V later this week. |
Quote:
|
Well, still...I only have a 20GB HDD right now and roughly only 8.4GB of that is available at the moment. Dunno if that's enough space or not, but I've erred on the side of caution so far.

Mass Effect - Loving this game
Bioshock - Haven't played in awhile Crackdown - I think I might be OCD about having the game completion achievements for each game I have actually finished, since I accidentally deleted this, I decided to finish it again. I think I am about 75% done in one night of play. |
SoulCalibur V

Started and finished Portal 2.
It had been in my STEAM library forever, I just never got around to playing it until today. |

Games I've Beaten in 2012:
Saints Row: The Third - 86 Ultimate MvC 3 - 80 Mortal Kombat - 85 From Dust - 75 Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition - 60 Skate 3 - 82 Back to the Future: The Game - 70 Gears of War 3 - 76 Managed to drag through the campaign. I dunno, I never really got into these games so campaign always felt like a chore and this wasn't any different. Multiplayer is fine I guess if you're into these games but I don't really care. Someone tell me what happens in the DLC because I won't be getting it. Might send this out in a week, maybe 2. |
In the Gears DLC? Marcus 2 (Michael Barrick) smokes a cigar, rescues a black kid, then RAAM from Gears 1 points bats at people and they explode.
This is what I gathered to be the plot of the DLC. |
Why such a low score for SF III?
Also, I am playing KoF 2002 Unlimited Match again. Really fun game. Assload of characters, most of which play drastically different from one another. Anyone else have it? I know Funky does, but trying to get him to play any game with you these days, is more difficult than securing an audience with the pope. Would like to get KoF 13 in the near future, but there are a lot of good games coming out in the next month or so. UFC 3, Street Fighter x Tekken, Mass Effect 3, and Rainbow 6 Patriots are all day one buys for me, and I still have to get Soul Calibur 5. So until all those have been purchased, I'll be sticking with 02. Which is fine atm, as I don't believe 13 has Shermie. |
Oh, and Rugal can suck a big fat cock.

My beat in 2012 list still stands at just Assassin's Creed Revelations. Need to be playing less of Star Trek Online and more of games I've started. Gonna try an finish the main story of Kingdoms of Amalur, so that it's out of the way when Mass Effect 3 comes out.
|
Finally done with the Dead Money add-on. Good riddance, Father Elijah! (Played all 3 endings, too...the fake one with the slide show that mentions that the player trapped him or herself in the vault, the obligatory "Kill Him!" one, and the one where you sneak out towards the elevator before he realizes you set a trap for him, and then you exit through the elevator, trapping him in the vault for all time.) Also, it took a good bit of time for me to realize I had to shoot a speaker in the hallway before the stairwell to the Cantina Madrid kitchen to have any chance of completing Put the Beast Down...most infuriating Fallout quest I've ever come across (Heist of the Centuries was tame in comparison).
Working on Honest Hearts now. |
Rhythm Heaven Fever, Skyward Sword, and TimeSplitters 2 are the main games I'm playing for now.
Picked up Rhythm Heaven Fever a short while ago. |
PC : Modern Warfare 3 & Deus Ex Human Revolution
PS3 : Red Dead Redemption Dreamcast : Resident Evil 2 |
Currently Playing:
WWE 12 Madden 12 Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection X-Men Arcade Soul Calibur IV |
Back to playing X-Com Enemy Unknown on the PS3 (Yeah, PSX game though ofc).
Other than that, Fifa 12 and even though I ain't played in months, still technically BF3. |
Feeling nostalgic, so I'm replaying Half-Life.
Haven't played it since my junior year of high school, and while some aspects haven't aged well at all, it's still quite fun. |
Games I've beaten so far in 2012:
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword |
Started back up Mass Effect to get some of the achievements. Need to work on the biotic now (have to do Liara, Ashley, and Kaidan too...)
Will probably play Mass Effect 2 again just to play it, but only things left is beating Shadow Broker on Hard/Insane and beating the game on Insane itself. Not playing anything really though, until Street Fighter x Tekken and Mass Effect 3 are released. |

Beat in 2012:
Demon's Souls The Adventures of Alundra Currently Playing: Catherine  Blazblue: Calamity Trigger Dead Nation (Sort of, I've played it twice in two weeks. Not really rushing back to it) |
Beaten on X-Box now: Halo CE: Anniversary.. Final mission was frustrating esp. the blowing up reactors with rocket launcher while the sentinels are flaming your ass.
And about to finish Spider-Man: Edge of Time.. It felt like Tron Evolution and Arkham style beat em up platform game series. I'm at the final battle scene with The Evil Peter Parker in the IRon Spider Suit. He's weakening yet manages to climb over the portal to make one huuuge uber red laser on me.. Very Frustrating to beat this guy. |
|
Yes, Finally finished Spider-Man's edge of time.
And currently playing: Clash of the Titans (it's very different than the 2010 movie even though the graphics and actors are the same images yet different voices.. Haha. That's my CONS there.) Lots of shit reviews on this game but I wasn't even bored the least... Sure, it's repetitive quests of gathering weapons and magic spells from Greek's famous monsters.. All because I'm a biiiggg nerd on anything Greek mythology stuff even if the game is pure shit.. DOn't expect high standard graphics like MW3 or anything. Sometimes the gameplay is what matters the most. |
Games beaten in 2012:
Sonic 2 (XBLA version) Call of Duty Black Ops In terms of just the campaign, 2nd CoD game I've ever played and 1st since the start of the Modern Warfare split. Besides some forced moments, it was pretty great and liked the Vietnam War parts the most. Going to spend the most time with Skyward Sword and Eternal Darkness as the main games for the rest of the month. |
I don't think I ever beat a Sonic game. Hmmm
|
I am on Assassins Creed Revalations and Skyrim right now. I want to get some play throughs of Mass Effect 1 and 2 before getting Mass Effect 3.

Beat in 2012:
Assassins Creed: Revelations Mass Effect 2 Mass Effect 3 Modern Warfare 3 Gotta go back and finish Kingdoms of Amalur now. |
Just beat Vanquish.
The graphics and art design is fantastic, the action set pieces are engaging, tense, and fun, and the game does a good job of pacing itself so you don't get burnt out. It's really short - only took 5 1/2 hours to complete, but it's a very solid shooter/action game. You could probably find it quite cheap now, so if you see it I recommend picking it up. Just picked up Velvet Assassin on clearance, so I'll be starting that shortly. |
Games I've Beaten in 2012:
Saints Row: The Third - 86 Ultimate MvC 3 - 80 Mortal Kombat - 85 From Dust - 75 Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition - 60 Skate 3 - 82 Back to the Future: The Game - 70 Gears of War 3 - 76 The Simpsons: The Arcade Game - 56 Mass Effect 3 - 86 My thoughts are in the thread. Great series, poor ending. Working on: Street Fighter X Tekken, Soul Calibur V, Ultimate: Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Dark Souls, MLB 12: The Show, Dungeon Defenders, Magicka, Bastion, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Trilogy Collection HD, Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid Collection, NBA 2K12 |
this is what i'm playing and have played a mix of currently playing and beaten
Saints Row the Third Soulcalibur V Gotham City Impostors Halo Reach AC Revelations just beat the hell out of Arkham City just cause 2 still play the shit out of worms armageddon and worms ultimate mayhem and i have a soft spot for dungeon crawlers/beat em ups Castle Crasher, Crimson alliance, Torchlight, Scott Pilgrim, Lara Croft and... the tomb of something i forgot tomb o' light i think. then i dunno, a buttload of indie games, most of them zombie themed or -alright- Minecraft clones. |

Bioshock - 88
Story 18/20 Setting 20/20 Gameplay 15/20 Originality 20/20 Replayability 15/20 Just finished playing this last night and I can only agree with what the critics have said about it. It is an exceptionally solid game start to finish. The twists are wonderful and well done. I never once felt truly safe traversing Rapture, as the security systems, splicers and Big Daddies have a way of tearing you to shreds no matter how prepared you are. That is another thing I quite liked, the lack of ammo. They seemed to strike that perfect balance between Resident Evil where ammo conservation is important and Call of Duty where you seem to be a walking bullet hose at times. It found a nice niche right in the middle that even despite having some ammo, very very rarely was I not able to pick more up due to having capacity. The dreary setting they made and the musical score went together like peas and carrots. The setting I think is what made this game so good, based on Ayn Rand and her beliefs in Objectivism which I had previously been quite interested in before this game. It gave a look how a society driven on morals and the advancement of mankind without limitations or hindrances can still fall apart despite the efforts against it. What I found interesting and in the very least ironic, is the rejection of religion Ayn Rand and in turn Andrew Ryan (which I think was a clever way of referencing her) and there still being bibles found all over Rapture. Hell, even the name of the place itself is dripping with irony. And the first person you see I believe in Neptunes Fortune is a smuggler who is crucified... Anyways, the game has an incredible story which you can make as deep as you want by listening to the audio tapes (must have spent hours doing this myself) and drawing the conclusions from those with what you think happened that the games story doesn't tell you. Now, I gave it some perfect marks on a couple areas, so I will just elaborate on the ones I didn't. Story - Its far too black and white. The game is based on your choices and the consequences are just way too black and white. Contains end game spoilers SPOILER: show Gameplay - A crossbow having a higher damage output then a grenade launcher sort of irritated me since the crossbow bolts are ridiculously cheap in comparison and made the game after that far too easy for me as I play CoD a lot and have been using a sniper rifle to shoot people charging at me quite a bit. I don't think this would apply to a normal person who doesn't play shooters but I had to say it. Two other things, one was that sometimes hacking there wasn't a possible way to win. It happened only a handful of times and incidentally only when hacking safes but it was frustrating as you lose quite a bit of health or get security drones on you. Lastly, Every time you revived in a Vita-Chamber, the monsters didn't regain health. You only recovered a little bit yourself but through perseverance you could whittle away an enemies health and that I think was the biggest flaw in the game. During several fights, I saw splicers run to healing stations to get health back but NOT after you die. I suppose this would have made the game abnormally difficult at some points but it would have made sense if they had run to a healing station after they killed you and not just limped away. Replayability - Only reason I dropped it down was because after you know the twists, I don't think the experience would truly be the same. In conclusion, one of the most engulfing and well developed games I have ever had the pleasure to play. Games I finished in 2011 and 2012 (Long List) SPOILER: show Currently Playing: Mass Effect |
Games beaten: final fantasy XIII-2
Currently playing: SSX Armored core V |
Games beaten in 2012:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (9.5/10) Bit.Trip Runner (10/10) UFC Undisputed 3 Redboxed this over the weekend. Pretty decent controls, though I'm horrible with transitions and submissions. Mostly try to keep headkicks flying and throw on a suplex every now and then. Disappointed that the career mode makes you retire after 11 years. REALLY disappointed that Ultimate Fights only has 4 fights without forcing you to get DLC. 7/10 |
Beat in 2012 - Rating
Assassins Creed: Revelations - 2/5 Mass Effect 2 - 5/5 Mass Effect 3 - 4/5 Modern Warfare 3 - 3/5 Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - 4/5 Copying everyone else and doing ratings from this point on, unless I get bored of it anyway. 1 through 5 scale > others btw! |
Only game I have been playing lately is Call of Duty modern warfare 3 on xbox 360 online. Mostly only play infected mode.
I do have a big backlog though to start on sometime |
Games I've Beaten in 2012:
Saints Row: The Third - 86 Ultimate MvC 3 - 80 Mortal Kombat - 85 From Dust - 75 Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition - 60 Skate 3 - 82 Back to the Future: The Game - 70 Gears of War 3 - 76 The Simpsons: The Arcade Game - 56 Mass Effect 3 - 86 Payday: The Heist - 70 MLB 12: The Show - 83 NBA 2K12 - 79 Haven't finished Payday but I don't think I will. Doing the last two or three missions require you to level up a bit to get different loadouts/abilities and I don't feel like playing it that much. It's not a bad game but the movement can feel a little clunky at times. I wish that you had to do more than hold one button when interacting with objects. Maybe rotate the analog stick, complete a quick time event, or something. Lack of communication from playing on PS3 didn't help either. But it's a fun co-op shooter. Could have used a few more missions I think but for however much I paid for it, it's pretty good. Although I'm not "done" with the sports games I've played enough to know what I see. I really enjoy Diamond Dynasty in The Show. At first I did. Now though, I think the rest of the teams are going to be overpowered cheaters. The system of using X amount of created players along with X amount of MLB players for only X amount of games and improving the created players to X amount of attributes for X amount of cash needs to be improved. I don't know how. I haven't spent enough time with the system yet but I'll think of something. The game itself is fine. As long as you have an hour to kill for each game. You COULD speed up the in game time by ignoring cutscenes, making the CPU throw more strikes, etc but if you tinker with those settings than it ruins the pitcher/batter battle which is really what baseball is all about. 2K is what it is. I'm starting to get sick of it though. I think it's the controls and the fact that I can never pass to who I want to. Working on: Street Fighter X Tekken, Soul Calibur V, Dark Souls, Dungeon Defenders, Magicka, Bastion, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Trilogy Collection HD, Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid Collection, Deadly Premonition |
Lots of high scores to start off the year. Good.

I just wrapped up Mass Effect and have started Mass Effect 2. It's good shit.

$0 I don't think we will ever get passed that last part of the Batman Skyhook mission |
I think you have to just spread out and keep moving forward while shooting to get to the other side of the bridge and not get fox holed into one spot.
I did the next mission a minute ago and I think we almost made it to the end but died. It's a stealth mission where you can do the whole thing without shooting if you're really good. Except we got found out like 1 minute into it. Haven't done the last one. |
Don't even like baseball and I've been addicted to MLB 2K12 for the last week or so :-\ Haven't finished Soul Caliber V yet because of it.

Just beat Deus Ex : Human Revolution. Phenomenal game and finally a worthy sequel to Deus Ex. 10/10, easily best game of 2011 and probably 2012 as well.
Currently Playing: Castlevania : Lords Of Shadow. Control seems kinda awkward, stuck on the first "semi-boss", about 5 minutes into the game. Pretty frustrating. |
Finally got around to finishing RDR Undead Nightmare.
Really wish you could use the weapons and horses from that in the regular game. As it is, there are two few people around to have fun fucking around. |

Games I've beaten so far in 2012:
Forza 3 Fight Night Round 4 WWE '12 Road to Wrestlemania mode I was on a role and had all of those beaten by the middle of January (of course I had started most of them in 2011 or earlier) and thought I would have a couple more done by now, but I haven't done any more than fire the xbox up and play around with WWE 12 Universe mode a couple of times (and my brother beat Arkham City) since then. |
Recently picked up Final Fantasy X again. I am only very early on the game...

Games beaten in 2012:
Sonic 2 (XBLA version) Call of Duty Black Ops Portal (Xbox 360 Orange Box version) Been playing this sporadically for the last couple of years and just got around to completing it. Main reason was I had a lot of difficulties with the slingshot type jump and almost every Youtube video on the game was just people using tricks instead of solving the tests normally. |
Games beaten in 2012:

Just finished Saint's Row. Gonna start LA Noire tonight.
|
Gonna look up some how-to's on achievements for BioShock 2 and then give it another long-awaited playthrough. Honestly not even that excited at all for BioShock Infinite. Guess it's because the Rapture 1959 and 1969 from the first two, as well as the characters, gameplay and story have made me see them through rose-colored glasses, whereas I percieve this new game may be only average at best by my personal standards.
|
X-Men 2: Wolverine's Revenge.
Gave up on GTA: Vice City. Made it to 99%. |
Playing through Spider-Man : Edge of Time. It's pretty enjoyable. Game play is pretty repetitive, but the story is fun.
TBH, it's hard not to compare any superhero game against Arkham, which blows everything else out of the water. The Amazing Spider-Man game adaptation looks promising. Also playing UFC 3. It's fun, and I prefer the submission system to the 'shinning' crap from the last game. I'll probably just play it for a week and sell it on though. |
What a shame...this classic is still not a sticky...been going for close to 2 years...
