Captain America: Civil War - I thought it was pretty good, this movie did a better job handling a lot of plots and character motivations than the Ultron movie, cool action scenes and set pieces. But it felt kind of slight, like for all its complexities and big name characters it was lacking in real catharsis and weight, when it was all over I was like "all of that was for this." it felt like nothing really important happened, and the story didn't end up at a much different place than it started. 7/10
Green Room - This movie was cool. Very tense and violent. 8/10 |
The Jungle Book-8/10
Good stuff if nothing amazing. Felt like a kid again at times. |
Civil War: 9/10
Dead Rising: Watch Tower: 4.5/10 |
Neighbors 2: 5/10
It was fun for what it was. |
The Revenant - 10/10
Absolutely beautiful. |
Captain America: Civil War - 3/5
|
Finally saw Kingsman. Feel like I could give it 10/10 just for the church scene alone.
|
A Most Violent Year - 9/10
Oscar Isaac comes across as very talented. |
X-Men: Apocalypse 6/10
|
The Nice Guys - 3.5/5
|
Dredd 7.5/10

X Men Apoc - 9/10
|
Money Monster - 4/5
Be careful with those stock tips, Jim Cramer. |
John Wick - 7/10
|
Xmen Apoc: 7/10
Good summer flick. Fox is albeit slowly, moving in the right direction. |
Terminator Genisys: 7/10
T2 is still one of my top 5 movies ever so I was unsure going into this. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would, considering how this story basically shat over everything (but that's the whole point). |
The new turtles movie: 7/10
It didnt try and modernize the franchise, instead it took the comics, the 80s cartoon and the 90s films and used them to craft new stpries. Where the last one failed to be fun this one succeeded. |
Kimgsman, liked it I'll give it 4.75/7
|
X-Men Apocalypse 6/10
|
X-Men: Apocalypse - 5/10
Wasn't bad. Didn't feel like a "typical" X-Men film. |
X-Men Apocalypse: 6.5/10
|
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For: 4/10
Plot was all over the place but it gets extra marks for Eva Green boobies. |
The Green Inferno 5/10
Not as fucked up as it was hyped up to be (which is a good thing), but overall, meh. |
Night of the Living Dead (90s remake) 7.5/10
An interesting take on some of the characters, Barbara was actually watchable. |
The Nice Guys-8/10
Hilarious movie about a 70s P.I. and a hired gun trying to find a young girl and who killed a porn star and their crew. |
The Watchmen 8/10
|
Conjuring 2 - 6/10
Folks in the hall were quite scared. The movie was "formulaic" in nature but enjoyable. |
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping-8/10
Mockumentary staring the Lonely Island about a boy band. Absolutely hilarious. |
Love Lonely Island, gotta check this out.
Thanks for informing me of this movie's existence. |
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping - 7/10
Predictable and enjoyable. Typical Lonely Island goodness. |
Hoping that gets a UK release.
|
Central Intelligence
7/10 I'm sure it has bad reviews cause it isn't 4hrs long and up for 50 Oscars. |
It's actually getting pretty good reviews. Because if a movie's good critics tend to like it. Simple, I know.

Empire Records Just Friends Fun With Dick and Jane I Know What You Did Last Summer I could keep going though |
I have seen none of those films. Except maybe Empire Records when I was young.
It's all subjective anyways.... F the critics.... |
Saw TMNT II Out of The BeySplosions.
I'd give it 8/10. Turtles acted more like the turtles that most people have come to know. I have been a TMNT fan since my childhood and this felt a lot like the turtles of that time, being goofy and having fun, but turning it up when they needed to. The weakest part of the movie, imo, was Krang. He wasn't done too well (his robotic suit was), didn't care for his voice and his character was very goofy. Seemed like a tryhard effort with Krang. Fun movie. |

Finding Dory-10/10
Absolutely loved it. Funny, heartwarming, and a great sequel. Highly advised. |
10 Cloverfield Lane - 8/10
Quite enjoyable. So many unanswered questions :( |
Alice: Through the Looking Glass - 2.5/5
|
Independence Day: Resurgence 6.5/10
You can tell they are looking for a final sequel with how the film ends. |
The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials - 2/5
Aiden Gillen was the only cool thing here. |
Limitless 6.5/10
|
American Sniper - 5/10
I would probably enjoy it more if I hadn't read about the guy before, so I kinda knew this movie is full of shit. Also, the baby scene alone probably lost 2 points. |
The Fundamentals of Caring - 8/10
|
Independence Day: Resurgence 6/10
|
Free State of Jones - 2/5
|
Independence Day: Resurgence-5/10
Lots of characters. Some you're supposed to remember. Others now adults. Just a 2 hour exercise in one liners and set pieces. Definitely being banked on for a sequel. Just found everything really boring. |
Take Me To The River - 6/10
Midnight Special - 6/10 |
Independence Day: Resurgence - 1.5/5
It was like the entire backstory of Destiny rolled into 2 hours. |
Batman v Superman Ultimate Cut-5/10
Just as meandering and boring as the original, only longer. Some scenes are fleshed out a bit more but they do nothing to weave a tighter story. The characters are still lacking in sound motive. Batman is still ridiculously short sided, murderous and dumb. Superman is still a sad sack. And Luthor is still a jittery mess with no reasoning behind his plotting. Watching the movie again only longer just made me realize it's even worse than I remember. |
Expect much heat but The Big Lebowski 3/10 so boring
|
Don't worry man. I didn't care for it last time I saw it.

The Infiltrator - 3.5/5
|
Everybody Wants Some - 7/10
|
Turtles Out Of the Shadows: 4/10
|
Triple 9 7/10
|
Allegiant 5.5/10
|
The Legend of Tarzan - 2.5/5

Ghostbusters (2016) 8/10
|
C'mon LJ, a standard paint by the numbers summer comedy cannot possibly earn such an enjoyment induced rating.
|
2001: A space odyssey- 9/10
I think the largest testament to this film is that despite its age this films themes become more relevent as time moves forward, and i think that will hold true for future generations as well. Timesless to be sure. |
Ghostbusters-7/10
Not bad. Characters are thin. Movie moves pretty fast so nothing really gets to simmer. The cgi was pretty mediocre at best and the story lacked stakes and was not particularly intimate. The end devolved and drug on a bit. And the villain stunk. The lines however are funny. The characters work as a group and are better together than the sum of their individual parts. It was a good waste of 2 hours with laughs and an overall enjoyable time. But that's about it. P.s. keep an eye out for the secret ending. |
Star Trek Beyond 7/10
|
Star Trek: Beyond - 8/10
|
ghostbusters: 5/10
No chemistry with cast, no story, low aimed humor (queef jokes and fart jokes?) I liked some of the ghost designs, the equipment, the opening sequence. Felt more like a spoof of GB. |
Ghostbusters 8/10
Thought it was pretty good. Well balanced, good cast and a plot that did the job. |
Star Trek Beyond- 9/10, Felt like an action episode of TOS. So, it was very good. Very glad that Earth wasn't involved at all. Enterprise almost never went to Earth in the shows.
6/10 "Ghostbusters" Ecto Cooler gives it a few extra points. |
Star Trek Beyond: 9/10
|
Jason Bourne 7.5/10
|
Brahman Naman - 6/10
|
Juggalo Documentary 6/10
|
Trumbo 7.5/10
Jack Reacher 7.5/10 |
Batman v Superman - I wanted to hate this movie, the only reason I watched it was because I thought it would annoy me, and sometimes I like to feel annoyed, but this really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and if it wasn't for the stuff with Doomsday I would have actually liked it. First 2/3 had flaws (too may story threads) but I still thought it was alright, and I think a Synder Batman film would have actually been pretty good, I liked how Batman/Bruce was kind of like James Bond. Too bad it shits itself at the end. 5/10
|
It was not necessarily a bad movie. It just didn't live up to its potential and themes that would rival those of Bollywood.
|
Bridesmaids - 5/10
Been hearing about this one for years and about how it was "good", but first half of the movie seemed "terrible" and then second half seemed "average at most"..... |
Suicide Squad 4/10
Naff |
Suicide Squad 8/10
|
Suicide squad: 3/10
Horrendous pacing issues. Exceptionally weak script. Onlynsaved by Deadshot and Harley managing to make bad material entertaining. This film is almost as if they took every critism applied to BvS and did it 10 fold out of spite. This isnt even fit fpr direct to dvd. |
The Peanuts Movie - 7/10
Average movie, I guess. |
ghostbusters - 3/10
suicide squad - 7/10 suck it |
Star Trek Beyond - I like that this had zero fat on it, just a nice tight plot. There are no double crosses or characters dying and then coming back to life, or cities being destroyed, or Batman looking at videos of other super heroes on his computer, or Thor slipping into an electric bath, it just goes from point A to point B. A total waste of Idris Elba though, I didn't really understand his character's motives either. 7/10
Blood Simple - I haven't watched this movie in like 10 years but it was just as good as I remember. 8/10 |
Suicide Squad-5/10
Villain was lame. The idea that a team of meta humans needs to be assembled in the event of an anti Superman event is interesting, except the Squad only had one real meta human. Most of the characters outside of Deadshot and Harley are extremely short changed and get very little direction or development. The save the world plot with essentially a group of skilled humans didn't make sense when they had a popular character like the Joker ready in waiting. Speaking of which, for all the hype he's barely in the fucking movie to the point that a fair take on his version can't made. Big time disappointment. |
Sausage Party - 7/10
It was everything that I'd expect from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Folks that accompanied me to the movie did not enjoy the film and told me how stupid it was. Made me sad. |
Sausage Party - 9.5/10 - Best movie I've seen all year
|
The Raid 7/10

War Dogs - 7.5/10 - Pretty good overall, one of those "based on a true story" movies that is almost unbelievable to have actually happened. Jonah Hill is so much better fat.
