Might go see that on Sunday if the theater seems sufficiently empty... Feels like a good "return to theaters" movie...

It's been a bit of a Harrison Ford day.

Presumed Innocent 7/10
A solid Harrison Ford film. He plays a deputy prosecutor who is accused of killing one of his colleagues, whom he had once had an affair with. The film gets a bit of extra class with the inclusion of Raul Julia (taken too soon) as Ford's defence lawyer. |

The Green Inferno - Shite, just right off the bad the way everyone talks is so pointed and jagged, all the exposition is obvious and risible, the comic relief daft. Some "social justice" college students decide on a whim that theyre going to fly to the Amazon and stop some company from bulldozing a village, it goes wrong and they get captured by cannibals. Sposto just be a cheap horror movie I guess, I just don't understand why these things get made

Sneakers 7/10
The cast of this film is substantial: Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, Mary McDonnell, Ben Kingsley, David Strathairn, Dan Aykroyd, and River Phoenix; hell, even James Earl Jones makes a cameo. I did find my attention began to wander by the time we were into the final act, but I think that was due to me coming down from a sugar high. It is also a techie film from 30 years ago, but it doesn't seem particularly dated, probably because of the snappy script and the quality cast. |

A Quiet Place 2: 7/10
Felt a little “been there done that”. The opening scene showing d day was cool. And the movie itself was good. But it felt like it was played safe as far as expanding the world and making the sequel bigger in scale. The ending also felt like it came abruptly. Nonetheless a good time at the theater. |

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood - 8/10
a quite interesting film. it was different than what I thought it was gonna be going in. Margot Robbie shined as the beautiful Sharon Tate. Last edited by Seth82; 06-23-2021 at 10:50 PM. |

In the Heights - 7.5/10
First half of the movie was kind of "meh", then the second half was "alright"... didn't know this was based on a stage musical... thought I was going to see a movie that was made to be a musical not a musical that was made to be a movie.... |

Slightly predictable. But it was a better "war" movie for Spike Lee than Miracle at St. Anna. |

if you takw the scriot and imagine they didnt market it as a vampire movie it really is pretty brilliant. if you didnt know going in the 2nd act reveal would be completely bonkers.

Deep Cover 7/10
Laurence Fishburne brings class to an otherwise dated early 90s undercover cop film, filled with iffy dialogue, sketchy acting, and an out of place Jeff Goldblum. Saying all that, I quite enjoyed it, mostly because of Fishburne's performance. Last edited by El Vaquero de Infierno; 04-13-2023 at 07:18 PM. |

The VVitch-6/10
Very moody and grim. And while interesting, I didn’t feel the story went anywhere or told any story worth the time. It wasn’t scary or suspenseful in any way. At least for me. |

F9: The Fast Saga - 8/10
Was pretty mindless entertainment.... I like how these movies have just totally forgone any sort of logic/physics by this point. I also liked how they poked fun at themselves a bit in this one talking about how they seem to be invincible. |

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It - 2 1/2 stars out of 4.
If this is the last in this series. the cinematic adventures of the Warrens ends in a 'meh' as opposed to a bang. I was hoping it'd be the scariest but what it lacks in horror it makes up with the chemistry between the two leads. The case isn't particularly intriguing and it keeps dipping into the familiar wells. It didn't grab me but they tried. |

The Tomorrow War. Saw critics were murdering this movie but then a local facebook group was filled with nothing but people praising it so I gave it a shot.
It wasn't as bad as the critics said, but it wasn't as good as the local nerds said either. It was OK. Pretty interesting plot, but it seems like it's 2 separate stories (maybe even what started off as a movie and a sequel) shoehorned into 2.5 hrs. It doesn't really give either storyline time to fully develop and somehow makes what is a long movie feel rushed. Action and special effects and all that are very good. Liked the design of the bad guyz. Did seem like the big star of the movie was phoning it in a bit though; I've seen way better out of him in other movies. Over all I'd say maybe a 5.5/10. Not a bad movie, but not something to go out of your way to watch. If you're bored and it's on then there are far worse options and it's worth a watch. Or if you just want some standard scifi action or something. |

Black Widow 8/10
I enjoyed it too; Florence Pugh was the stand-out in the film, but everyone acquitted themselves well, except for perhaps Ray Winstone's dodgy Russian accent. |

Black Widow-8/10
Really enjoyed it. David Harbour add the dumb, lovable washed up hero was maybe the show stealer for me. Florence Pugh was a great addition. Can’t wait to see what’s next for her character. It was short, funny, packed with shroom sequences and moved at breakneck speed without losing that marvel charm of character interaction. Highly recommend. |

Luca - 3 stars out of 4.
It's cute and all with an easy to follow story but it just feels like a combination of a bunch of these kinds of movies. There's also not a lot of humor. I mean, the most I got a good laugh was when some poor kid gets his face plastered with a ball. It's still watchable but I can't call it one of Pixar's best. |

Black Widow- 8/10
Really solid. Yelena is a show stealer. plot was reasonably strong. taskmaster was super rad when he was doing taskmaster shit. a bit too many action set pieces though. film really didnt trust its characters to leave them alone for too long. cinematography was subpar. especially the melee action. reeeeeaallly liked it though. i could seriously gush about how much Yelena killed it for several pages. |
