Come to think of it those ratings are all wrong, just felt right at that second I was typing them. I think I rated The Prestige 8/10 and I loved that film a lot more than all of them. Retiring from this thread from this moment on.

What About Bob? - 8/10
I saw it on Sunday, on TV, and like it quite a lot. Bill Murray cracked me up throughout. |

How did it manage a 5 for you? One of the worst films I've ever seen, probably rate it no higher than a 1/10 personally.

Amazing Spider-Man (on stream) 6/10
I thought the "origin" dragged on way too long and it took too long to get to the meaty stuff. Have see it in better quality to decide how much I liked it but it was 'alright'. |

Captain America 2011 - Not bad, a good cast, and good origin story for the first hour, but quickly lost focus when the middle of the film became a clip show of blowing up bases, leading to a rushed ending. Oh well. 7/10

Kevin Nash fighting Kurgan with Dave Foley on commentary pushed it up a few notches, didn't find it that bad for what it was, might have been over generous in fairness.

Thor - Loved the ice planet (can't remember any names sadly), but felt Thor and Natalie Portman didn't have an ounce of chemistry, which made their scenes really drag. Other than Thor, I can't remember a single other character name, other than Loki, that's how underdeveloped the supporting cast were, just background scenery, but it's cool, because the story itself was pretty decent. 7.5/10

Now normally I would give a rating, an arbitrary number that is meaningless. It is difficult to categorize movies into one of ten piles and leave it at that, sometimes you wonder if it deserved more or you wonder if it deserves less. This movie however, I will watch time and again. I have not enjoyed any movie as much as this one in years. I am serious when I say this is a classic. If we want to have 10 as perfect, then here you have it. 10/10 And that is just for the climax alone. |

Princess Mononoke is phenomenal. 10/10
Just had to add that, seeing the above ratings. Ghibli is one of my favorite movie studios now. Love me some Pixar, but Ghibli is a whole different ballpark. |

No wonder Ebert gave it a perfect score.. Sure, he admits this one being Exorcist as the huge influence but still, Sam Raimi as producer always loves to turn demons into much like the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness versions of the female possessed. Yes, the hand that comes out of the mouth is the fucking creepy shit.. Much better than Paranormal Activity stuff. SPOILER: show My other fave scene: SPOILER: show After the movie, I felt my hands and arms a bit shaky.. Despite the air condition in the theater is weak.. I dunno. I think I'm sensitive scary when it comes to demon possessions. Gets me everytime when I was a kid I guess.. Anyway, I liked it. 9/10. Is it just me or the sister of the possessed girl looks like Lindsay Lohan in her cleany teenage days or what? |

Iron Man - 4 out of 5
Has that very slow build in the beginning of the film like every recent super hero film does for a character but great film overall. |

Friends With Benefits - average. Pretty standard romcom with a few good laughs here and there but doesn't really do anything groundbreaking obviously. Justin Timberlake is pretty likeable though and Mila Kunis is fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttt. Richard Jenkins and Woody Harrelson were in it too so it kept my attention.

No holds barred. Not sure how to rate it, it was funny as fuck but I don't think that was the intention, 7/10 I guess for the cheesy 80s goodness that it was.

Remember Me -3/10
Someone at work insisted I watch it. Wish I hadn't. The ending was terrible as well, like a rejected entry from a list of awful twist endings or something. |

The Sum Of All Fears - 5/10..... decent, nothing special, although I never read the Tom Clancy novel the movie was based off of either...... |

Only good part of this is they put a cam on one of the dinos that looked like a pathetic poor man version of Dilophosaurus in Jurassic Park. Found footage still trending except with dinos. Ridiculous intro of the sequence saying, "The following images have not been manipulated or changed in any way." Sure, unless you put CGI dinos that looked like they belong in a SyFy TV movie and Terra Nova series. There's a bit of a plot twist to this: SPOILER: show Despite the shittiness, I'm still a sucker for dinos.. And the main hero is a fucking Bieber-ish look-alike in his mid-20s. 4/10. |

Now that's a hell of a gun! Side note, when I was looking for that picture I found the actual prop for sale: http://www.propstore.com/product-SFX...qi-Soldier.htm Anyway... The Prestige: 9/10 I really enjoyed this one, there were plenty of twists and turns in the story and character development; it was really entertaining to see how both of the main characters evolved due to their obsession with being the best magician, regardless of the cost. My only minor nit with this movie was with David Bowie's performance. Overall it worked fine, but every now and then he slipped ever so slightly into Jareth mode when he was talking. It's a small thing, but I found it to be just enough to take me out of the moment. Overall it's a great film, if you haven't seen it I recommend checking it out. I'm sorry, guys. I'll rewatch some of it in the next 72 hours and see if my views on it have changed. It was boring and while it was funny, I just thought it wasted my time. I actually skipped through some parts to get to the end because I lost interest in it, so I'll definitely have to re-rate it.
And yes, that part up top made me laugh. The whole "bloodiest movie ever" bit was my favorite. Other than that......it did nothing. I might as well make an attempt to watch it again now. |
