Rate the Game: Week 164
Right, so I got this going over on the other forums and I'm just barely getting a chance to get it added over here. I'll do this as quick as I can. I'm glad that I can finally add last week's StarCraft to the list. Let's see it.
Well, I knew StarCraft had a 4.0 overall score, but now I know it ends up at number 50 in the grand scheme of things here. I'd do the drawing from the bowl thing, but like I said, I already did that over on the other boards. This week's game is Sega's Eternal Champions. A couple of you guys have already spoken about it, namely that you either haven't heard of it or played it, but maybe there are some other folks over on this end that have given it a whirl. So do the voting and discussing thing that we do. Also, no double voting. If you vote here, obviously there's no need to do it over there. Anyway, hopefully things go smoother next week! No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes... ...again. |

Hell yeah. This is the reason I wanted a 6 button controller on Genesis. Enjoyed Xavier and Shadow the most. Larcen was great too because his stage fatality was one of the more simple ones to execute and involved a drive-by.
Outstanding game for it's time. 4 |

The pain of him realizing you go back down the ladder when you lose is delicious.

It was fooking hard! And if you lost on the way up, it knocked you back 2 spots did it not? Those were on the endurance fights which required you to win 1v2.... I think.

Yeah, never mind the fight against the Eternal Champion itself where the timer is locked and he has 4 forms and it's game over if you don't beat it in one go.

Either that or Kaiser Knuckle's General. Or Mortal Kombat 2's AI.

MK II's AI was just h4x
That was the last fighting game where I had memorized everyone's everything. I recall writing my own "guide" with all the moves for each character for my oldest brother who was going off to college. He ended up winning some money with dorm tournaments and shit. But man, on very hard, you had to cheese or lose. That was the only difficulty I never did konquer. |

30 years later, and Mortal Kombat's AI is still an input reading cuntbag.

Mortal Kombat 2 took it further. It's not so much input reading, but what it does with the information. Getting thrown right out of a sweep or getting knocked out of the air from Mileena's Sai Throw without any charge is high-level, quarter-stealing douchery.
