Started Lies of P. Early impressions are that its possibly the best soulslike I've ever played. It's kind of a melsing of dark souls and sekiro. You have all the stat leveling and different weapons and armor from souls. And from sekiro you get the heavy emphasis on parrying on combat. Theres also a skill tree and pinnochio's legion Arm reminds me of the prosthetic in sekiro.

Mechwarrior 5 dropped a new DLC based around House Kurita. Gonna see what that's all about.

Super Mario Wonder.
The game arrived this morning from the mail but only now got around to playing it today. Came with a free pack of Super Mario Wonder trading cards as part of a pre-order bonus for it. The cards sort of feel like Uno cards in terms of how they look with the rounded edges and feel to them. |

Mechwarrior 5 DLC was solid. The new Longbow mech that got included not so much.
Grabbing Spider-Man 2 tomorrow after work. Got all of next week to swing around Manhattan once again. |

Way late to the party (because the game seemed dumb to me until I played it finally) but I'm now officially addicted to the crack cocaine that is Vampire Survivor.

What about retro bowl college? I've only played the game for a few hours so far, but I'm really impressed. The gameplay is just as fun and challenging as the original game, and the college football elements add a lot of new depth and strategy.

I only recommend if you're a big fan of the franchise. Like myself. If not, you'll probably want to stay away. |

A long time ago, I saw a game advertised on the back of one my You Don't Know Jack cases. It was called Backstage Pass: The Ultimate Rock & Roll Trivia Game. It sounded neat and I always like these sorts of game, but I never saw it in stores. Well, after all this time with it slipping my mind, I came across it and ordered it and it came in today, where I'm finally enjoying its goodness.

After trading in Robocop: Rogue City, and having some Gamestop points to spare, I got Assassins' Creed: Mirage pretty much for free.
Regretting it. But I'm getting it knocked out as fast as I can and moving on to something else. |

Beat Super Mario Wonder last night with my nephew.
That final fight with Bowser is right up there with my all-time favorite Bowser battles in the Mario series. Also Nintendo really loves having a final boss or boss in general in their games that is either a floating head and hands or just floating hands. Want to say that might be at least the 5th or 6th time that has happened for a Nintendo game I've played. |

Its probably in the 30s honestly. Every star fox game ends with Andros. Zelda very commonly has one. OoT spriti temple for instance. But its almost as common as the Ghomma archetype. Nearly every game has one. I bet if we sat down and talked it out we'd clear 2 dozen without struggling.

Going to jump back into Lost Judgement. Started out slow plot wise and I put it down. I'll get back into it and knock it off.

Deep into the Vampire Survivors addiction.
Also tried out Rollerdrome, which just hit gamepass. It's basically tony hawk with guns. Very fun. |

Fired up Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak last night. Took a short break because Amatsu was my first "wall".
I beat Amatsu last night. Everyone was asleep and no one cares, but I was very excited. I hate life. |

I finished Sea of Stars and holy shit, what a game.
I knew it was made by the same devs as The Messenger, but I didn't know it took place in the same world. Getting to Mesa Island had me marking out. Also if you have played sea of stars, but not the Messenger, make sure you remedy that. |

My niece got the Splatoon 3 DLC and I was over watching her play it for a bit. Made me really wanna grab it. Got me wanting to finish off the Splatoon 2 DLC first since I never have yet, so been playing that a bunch this week. Beat the main boss of it, and have now done 74/80 of the levels... 6 more to go. This shit has caused me to almost break my Switch about 3 dozen times now. I swear Splatoon makes me rage like some kind of LoL player lol

Rebirth is so much better than Remake. This is the game I wanted. So much stuff to do now too. I'm still in the grasslands around Kalm/Chocobo Farm and there is just tons more world building here than in the original.

It's actually pretty nice to be able to explore without random battles stopping you every 10 steps, too.
One small gripe I have is that the elevation changes of terrain can be very annoying during battle sometimes. Makes you miss attacks/break combos sometimes. It's not so much a problem as it is something I need to get used to. Positioning matters now and I haven't gotten that through my thick skull yet. |
