Rate the Game: Week 181
Oh, no! It's another Rate the Game! M-A-G wasn't kidding when he said he was back! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

OK, that's enough of that. Welcome to June, everyone. The heat and the summer bods are looming. Best to stay indoors and enjoy some games. We should also do another round of this puppy. Until we can get to that piece of business, we first need to officially welcome last week's Overwatch into our fold and place it amongst the names that have graced our leaderboard from the very beginning. Where, oh where, shall our baby be?




Well, after doing all of the necessary calculations we can assign Overwatch a generous above average score of 3.4. In the grand scheme of things, however, that places it in lower half territory.

Week 181 is upon us, however, and we must focus our efforts towards a new title. What's on tap for this week?

Well, slap my bottom and call me 'Sally Jesse'. We're going to get off of the modern-day flavor that we've been tasting these last few weeks and return to the retro. This week's game is a follow-up to one of the biggest pop culture phenomena to ever terrorize the eighties. Ever wonder about the origins of the idea to gender bend a popular character? I think you can trace it to this. It's Ms. Pac-Man! Setting aside the confusing nature of the name (is Pac-Man his last name or what? I mean, she's a woman, but she's still using the 'Man'), how does her game fare? How does it compare to her Y chromosome-infused counterpart? Is she just as big an icon of the gaming landscape? All questions for you to decide as you determine what rating to give this game. Hash it out and we'll see you next week!

I've played it, but cannot remember it well enough to rate it. Didn't really ever care for any of the Pac Man games.

Maybe I played it? I dunno. Probably. I remember Pac-Man plenty... don't really have any memory of really playing Ms. Pac--Man... but I probably did some time.

Ms pacman is pacman with 4 levels instead of 1. Its more of an expansion than a different game.

Voted 3 but if half points were allowed, would have given it a 3.5

Its a very influential game in the history of gaming and an easy game to play and get hooked it because of the simplicity yet entertaining aspect of its level and gameplay design.

The only real negative is the gameplay loop is really short since the whole game revolves around 255 levels of the same variation unlike Donkey Kong which has enough differences in its handful of levels to make them each feel different enough and the gameplay loop being the whole game itself.

Edit: Disregard everything I said above since I misread the game as being regular Pac-Man and not Ms. Pac-Man. That's what I get for quickly skimming the name of the game.

Also changing my vote to "Never Played" since I think I might have played a little of it via ROM but not entirely sure.
