But yeah I do see this eventually being a way to write Jericho off for a while, could see him taking a break after Double or Nothing in May.
He was meant to have last summer off to tour but the pandemic canceled everything, for better or worse live gigs are gonna start coming back this summer so I think Fozzy will be back on the road for a little while. |

I just hope Jericho doesn’t become the next wrestling tragedy.

I genuinely don’t mean it doom and gloom or to be an ass, but I’ve just got a weird feeling. Yeah, he seems to be having the time of his life, but that often masks deeper shit. And that physical decline he’s had with the schedule he keeps? That’s not good. And just because he’s having fun doesn’t mean his family is. It’s got to be potentially embarrassing to be Chris Jericho’s kids and see him sucking in his gut with women half his age, spreading Covid, claiming he could be in AC-DC, supporting Trump so vocally, and being mocked by people seeing him for the first time in years. I’m being serious. It’s a VERY public mid-life crisis. Sometimes the money you make doesn’t make up for that.
I’m worried that the guys in AEW are such fans of his that they won’t ask the questions. And guys with real addiction problems can get quite good at masking how well they’re operating. They can make it seem a part of their brilliance. |

I'm gonna guess Jericho and MJF win the tag titles, because that's the most interesting angle for the belts and division, and eventually Jericho starts to lose his mister and trust and that's when MJF and the IC give him the boot, only for Sammy to return and clean house.

I think Sammy and MJF are in on it. The boot is coming a lot faster. The whole Sammy quitting thing is a sham and it's gonna end with everyone turning on Jericho. Then hopefully Jericho leaves for 3 months and gets himself in proper shape. |

Jericho taking a break is definitely needed.

Think its way more likely Jericho & MJF lose the tag title match than win the belts since this whole Inner Circle drama stuff is probably leading to the group disbanding instead of MJF taking over it.
Plus they don't really need the tag belts if the goal is to kick out Jericho. Them losing would speed up that process towards MJF becoming the new boss or the group splitting up. |

I don’t think it matters. We all know this is going towards MJF vs. Alcoholic Chris Jericho in some fashion. MJF will win and he’ll be exactly where he was was when he started. Only now he’s lost the “true heel” vibe he had before the awful singing segment.

Sammy Guevara is currently in the dog house in AEW regarding a recent an incident he caused backstage over their current creative plans for him.
AEW originally wanted him to go to Impact as part of his current Inner Circle departure storyline but he refused and caused a big enough scene that word of it reached Impact who told AEW they didn't want him showing up at their tapings place in Nashville. That led to AEW pulling the plans they had for him afterwards and him getting backstage heat over the big incident he caused. Quote:

It feels like it's been 20 years since someone refused to do what they were told. About time.

Sounds like he was going to do what he was told given that he arrived in Nashville for Impact tapings. But Impact didn't want to do the angle if it was someone salty about being there, and I don't blame them.

Based on recent interviews from current and former Impact talent, the locker room there these days is very friendly and happy. All it takes is one grouchy person to start wrecking the cheerful mood over there. Already seen it with WWE recently where it just took 1 bad incident for the mood of their main roster locker room to sour very quickly. They went from being very happy during the Rumble to becoming very angry post-fiscal report based on reports. |

Without knowing his reasoning for not wanting to do the angle, the easy conclusion to jump to is that he feels like going to Impact is a downgrade. If so, not a great mindset to have considering the World champion has done an angle there.

Maybe he realizes Jericho is a fat lazy piece of shit and he doesnt like Jericho trying to send him off to Impact to work angles for Twitch followers.

I don't blame Sammy. If he wanted to go to Impact, he could have signed with Impact 2 years ago. Why should he have to if he doesn't want to, just because Kenny Omega is friends with Don Call is and Tony Khan wants to air stupid paid for by AEW ads?

Also... why is Tony Kahn upset over this thing with Sammy?
AEW worrying about ruining their relationship with Impact is like WWE worrying about ruining their relationship with... well... any company other than WWE. AEW holds all the power in this Impact relationship... really don't know what Impact even brings to the table here. |

I agree. BTW I read on Twitter than Bryan Alvarez said Okada is coming to AEW. In with NJPW and out with Impact please. Their last ppv was headlined by formee WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann vs former WWE Hardcore Champion and 50 year old Tommy Dreamer FFS. |

Doubt AEW was going to have Sammy be a jobber or low tier wrestler during his time in Impact but whatever was Sammy's issue doesn't seem like it was something that could easily be fixed with a quick tweak of plans. I wouldn't be surprised if AEW was also worried about this being a bad look on them with their current working relationship with NJPW. |

But I'm also looking from a corp/business standpoint. This whole AEW/Impact crossover in general has been weird to me. I really don't get the benefit here... I mean if AEW wanted too, they could lure away almost any of Impact's talent, and their currently broadcast platforms are MUCH bigger than Impact's. This is what REALLY escapes me. I mean NJPW could be a reason, but imo a thin reason. This just feels like a giant bowing to an ant. |

Biggest benefit AEW can get with their Impact deal is mostly from Impact's Women's division since that's more notable names and stars that could help out AEW's struggling division.
Plus Impact acting like a minor league system of sorts for them in terms of AEW sending some of their younger and lesser used talent to get them more ring work and experience. AEW's lack of a touring system and a Performance Center-like place really limits how much their talent can improve under current situations. Its why AEW has been more open than WWE when it comes to allowing talent to take outside bookings. |

While I get why Sammy would be upset since Impact is obvs a much lower league, clearly the move was being done to continue to feature him and build up his return back to AEW while letting him do something interesting and getting fresh match ups. I highly doubt he would've been treated as anything other than a big dealin Impact. I wonder if he just shot himself in the foot and ruined a huge push.

Imagine not pushing Sammy Guevera because he hurt Impacts feelings. Aside from maybe MJF, Sammy might have to most your superstar potential of anyone on the roster.
Maybe AEW is trying to position themselves to buy Impact and all there library. |

AEW and TNA total messes. It’s probably a work. It doesn’t make sense for it to be, but that’d be the point.

Turns out Sammy's incident wasn't caused behind the scenes in AEW but in Impact instead.
Same for AEW finding out afterwards what was happening and not the other way around with Impact. Quote:

Tony Kahn been getting heat in the UK for His Fulham league. Apparently they have lost 12 in a row. Fans saying he's too occupied on his pro wrestling company, calling for a change. I don't follow football so I'm not really up on it. Seems worth noting though.

"CrAcKs sTaRtInG tO fOrM" because Sammy had some ideas and Impact got mad? Lmao while Sammy should've just done what was planned, I highly doubt this'll do anything that would hurt his future or AEW.

Yes. Out of everything that could kill the company, Sammy being mad about an idea that another promotion had for him will be the beginning of the end. May as well shut down this and the ratings thread now.

That report read more like "Sammy didn't like the idea and gave alternative ideas and Impact said fuck it, nevermind." This is not a big deal lol.
