Guessing they want to do Bucks vs. Good Brothers title for title sometime after Revolution which is why they couldn't put the belts on LAX for now but an LAX title run interests me far more. |

While I appreciate AEW not blowing through their storylines and turning a long-term angle into 2 weeks, I also think they go too far in the other direction sometimes.
They usually get where they need to go but they sometimes the angle's cooled off by the time they finally get there. Gotta find the happy medium. |

Like with the current Sting/Darby vs. Team Taz and Cody vs. Shaq/Jade storylines, they started those feuds way too early for the material they had planned out. Then you have other notable stuff that got stretched a bit too long like the Omega & Hangman breakup angle because AEW wanted to be able to do it when things returned to normal with the pandemic. |

I think they need to hire a continuity person who can also help w/ creative to keep things on track, make sure the narratives are always moving along

The Darby Taz stuff has been fine to me. Darby has ran thru both Starks and Cage, but they keep coming, so now it's a street fight to finally blow off the feud. The only weird part is Cody randomly exiting the story.

Even hiring just a writer to help out would fix some of their creative issues for storylines and lessen the weekly workload. Based on the stories of how AEW's creative process works, its pretty much like early era NXT but without the advantage of a monthly taping schedule, longer weekly shows, and a much larger roster to deal with. NXT's solution to those issues since the move to USA Network has been to just keep bloating their creative team which hasn't been effective in fixing the sluggish interest in their brand. |

Is it just Khan doing the creative with input from the wrestlers involved?

QT Marshall and a couple others help with the writing but not all the time. Think Marshall mostly helps whenever he's not busy with his wrestling school or other stuff. FTR had an interview recently where they broke down the differences between Vince and Tony Khan's mentality when it comes to writing shows and Khan is a lot more receptive to ideas and help from talent for his shows. Well color me impressed as I've mostly enjoyed the direction of most stories. But yeah. Maybe bring a control guy just to help give ideas and keep things on track.

I still think it's much more enjoyable than WWE which for me is completely unwatchable and self degrading to spend time on. But AEW isn't perfect, there does seem to be some issues that definitely start at the top. From the beginning there were many questionable hires and pushes. But when it's hot it's hot. Thinking back, I can't name a perfect product. There have been times for AEW that were close to it for me though. I think one of my biggest issues isn't AEW exclusive but an issue pervading contemporary Wrestling as a whole. The PWG influence. That style while awesome at times kind of rui s everything about working a classic match. It's the equivalent of dropping nuclear bombs constantly. The over use of strikes that should end a match or knock someone out, the poor use of those strikes that never connect at all. The logicless high flying tope's and the like that offensively make no sense at all. The over use of combo spots that leave no room for selling or storytelling beyond "GASP HOLY SHIT". It's amazing to go back to older shows and watch how a wrestler used to work holds and strikes in a way that had actual results.

They’ve all lost the plot. The only difference between WWE and AEW is that WWE has the name recognition and a deep back catalogue to make money off of for years to come.

But the very real prospect of a great show is enough to keep me going, and even the so-so episodes usually have a banger of a match somewhere in there. I find way much more enjoyable about the product than not. But nah not being 100% sold on everything AEW does = "cracks showing, people coming around on AEW" |

I do miss proper crowds though. One year ago today was probably the best episode of Dynamite to date (well, except the Brodie tribute ep but that was for sentimental reasons). Great stuff all around and the crowd was red hot.

AEW has no plot, they have spots. They hold ropes for their opponents to balance, they stand around for long periods of time waiting for the next flip, and they fall down for no reason when it's time for somebody else's spot. |

Yes. The products are very similar. The psychology in AEW is more bush league and their approach to production is more 2005 WWE than 2020 WWE, but they’re very similar.

They did. Moxley got an eye-patch and was faking, because it’s good strategy to pretend to be blind. Instead of a pot plant they got one of Shad’s cars. Mox did a zany “I’m going to be a bad guy...just kidding” promo that didn’t make any sense.

Am I the only one who doesn’t rate Anna Jay. She’s not a bad looking girl by any stretch, but her look is pretty common over here. If you go onto Tinder here, 2/3 girls look like Anna Jay. Sucks she got her though. Wonder if it’s because she’s inexperienced as shit?
