Wish they would fucking do something with Raul Mendoza. Guy is fantastic, but he's been booked as a total jobber since the CWC.

According to the Observer, WWE is almost at "idiot proof" status in regards to their future and any potential big mistakes causing uncertainty with investors.
Meltzer also stated WWE is on pace to set a new and massive financial record by 2020 to the point they have no real reason to please crowds or fix their shows in the meantime. Quote:

Pull out your financial support and switch off if you want change.
Are they certain they are going to get that massive rights fee increase and that the Network is going to continue to grow? Aren't subs only slightly up after they tried to give WrestleMania away for free? |

At this point, tv fees are pretty much carrying the company so the more it keeps going up, the less WWE has to care about other areas. Since UFC got a sizeable increase with their deal, the common perception is WWE is going to get a sizeable increase with their new deal.
WWE pretty much gave up on trying to hit 4-5 million subs by now or even be at a legit paid 2+ million which would make any lingering concerns from switching from the old PPV a non-factor. Them giving away Mania for free for years hasn't impacted them at all in terms of revenues. |

Watching old episodes of Heat between 2002-2003. Lol I love how all the low-mid card faces wear generic WWE T-shirts (Tommy Dreamer, D LO Brown etc... )

Women's Title match with Crash Holly as the Special ref lol. Jacqueline vs Molly Holly which I've now seen on 4 episodes of Heat in a 6 month span and they have the exact same match every single time.

I watched the first few episode of heat the other day. Going back the worst parts are the DX promo's or when someone wants to come out and promo for 10 minutes. Best part is all of the wrestling is pretty damn snug and the guys are all big as fuck.

Also there was one point early in the show where the entire ringside was littered with signs from the audience, so unsafe I can't believe they didn't have someone pick them up.

I've also been watching WCW summer 2000. Man this shit is intense. First of all it's nowhere near as bad as it was living through it. Watching the way the deal with Booker becoming champ for the first time on Nitro was fantastic, so if you miss the show then it seems pretty epic. One more thing. Holy shit what was going on during this era? They drop bomb there is to drop verbally and it's not beeped, which is cool. Also go watch any segment with Goldberg and Steiner and watch how fucking hard these guy hit each other. My god, I really undervalued those guys during that time, their work was fantastic.

And he takes like 2 hours to get there.
Also, interestingly enough, I have the symbol on his chest tattooed on my left arm in my sleeve. I always felt like "rat bastard" was an underutilized insult. "Rat fuck" is a close second. |

Yeah it's comparable to that saying "if a tree falls in a forest"... you have to really want to watch WCW at that time to know what happened. While management kept changing in those last years and the direction of the company was going nowhere fast. The physicality of the matches is really awesome. They really started hitting each other to try and pick up ratings. I'm impressed by all the Goldberg stuff I'm rewatching. I used to shit on him all the time. But I don't mind that he's got two moves, they are fucking awesome. They kill people. He's Bruno with moves. Also he comes off like a goddamn football player. The way he grapples with guys is so physical. Really love Goldberg/Steiner stuff. Also love Nash on the mic but man he was bad in the ring at the end. Booker T though, wow what a great champion. He was the man. I wish WCW lived.

oh heres the spoiler: Women weren't even offended by the microtransgression. Like I've watched TV with my white friends before, and white people make a joke referring to black people, and my friends act like "aww man thats not cool man, not okay!" and I'm like "no, that joke was funny. it wasn't offensive. it was in good taste." then they proceed to act fake mad about it, not because they're actually mad, but they feel like they have to be in front of me. If that makes sense. |

In putting over WCW at the end I must emphasize how shit Russo is and how his booking and philosophy expedited the downfall of the company. The thing with Russo is he doesn't really like wrestling it shows. He has no respect for anything the company did, no respect for wrestling. Plus literally nobody gave a fuck to see him on camera, ever.

It was such a stretch to assume the WCW audience would've had any idea who he is or given a shit about him for one second considering he was simple a behind the scenes "writer" for WWF. Its that kind of logic that bombed WCW. There was this moment on Nitro where Madden corrects Scott Hudson for saying pro wrestling "It's SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT now Hudson you know that!" What the fuck!? You are going to adopt the bylaws of Vince McMahon in your own promotion? Is that a tail tucked between your legs or just a very small penis? Also Mark Madden is my least favorite big time commentator of all time.

lmaoooo nah not that far. they're pretty sensible and utilize a great level of common sense. I've known them for years and we met in college when they were younger and much less...."aware"....of the plight of black people. But I can tell when they're putting on a front to be extra mad for show lol

But when it comes to certain racial things, my white friends tend to tread lightly because they're speaking from an outside perspective and they're still trying to discern where the line is. I tell them all the time I'm not sensitive like that if what they're saying/laughing at isn't vicious or malevolent, but they still dont do it out of respect, which is cool I guess. They don't make jokes about me possibly getting pulled over, or becoming a hashtag, or whatever for obvious reasons. |
