Reading "The death of WCW" and for some reason I had an idea for a wrestling angle I thought would be cool to see.
Has any major promotion ever done a blackmail/extortion angle where it turns out a Champ is only winning because he/she has some sort of long-standing leverage over a ref? That could work pretty well with some vignettes of the wrestler and the ref having secret meetings. Probably could get 6 months out of that. You'd probably have to teach the guy to count 3 in a not-immediately-noticeably faster time. Like 2.5 seconds. Then you could show a few vignettes of the secret meetings/suspicious activity over time and have a repeatedly screwed contender put together a tape of the fast counts to show that the champ was "a full 3 count away from being the champ". I'm rambling and I have probably just recreated some well known old angle but it sounds good in my head. |

I would enjoy that. I liked when Nick Patrick was the nWo (/Alliance) ref. It would be neat to see a ref "in the Champ's pocket."
I wonder which wrestler/ref combo could pull that off in WWE. Did you have anyone in mind? |

I haven't seen WWE in years mate. I'm just back into watching documentaries and old matches recently.
It would have to be somebody nobody would expect. Somebody over but not near the title scene so that a sneaky fast-rise would look confusingly legit and completely out of the blue. |

If it was done in the 2000's you'd use somebody like Eddie Guerrero. That would have been a great way for him to become champ while he was probably the best performer in the company.

Seems Jason Jordan is dealing with a Daniel Bryan situation right now.
PWI reported he still hasn't been medically cleared yet even though WWE only expected him to be out for a few weeks to a couple months at most. Rumor going online is that Jordan's doctors have cleared him but WWE refuses to do the same. |

I like the idea. Before you said Eddie I was think Andrade Almos, who is WWE’s top Mexican heavyweight. Would be a good angle for sure. It could lead up to him taking the US title which would be good heat.

Almas would be a good pick for this, especially because it would add to Zelina Vega pulling off another great "business move" for him.

I looked him up and his hammerlock DDT looks a bit dangerous.

According to the WWE, the actual details of their deal with the Saudi government can not be revealed due to confidentially clauses in the contract.
Turns out WWE was a bit sloppy trying to hide it in their recent investor's report and its rumored to be in the range of $49 million per year. Basis for the number is a revenue spike in an area of WWE's financial report that WWE left vague for why it happened. |

Lol this got pointed out on a podcast that I listen to and it's so nerdy and stupid, but hilarious at the same time.
When the WWE made gave X Factor the Uncle Kracker theme, they took the first time the word "X Factor" was said and spliced it into the rest of the song because they were too cheap to have Uncle Kracker actually record it |

In Rock's case though it speaks more to his ability as a performer to control crowds like he was the puppetmaster and they were his puppets. He was able to get them to pop with his catchphrases and other mannerisms only to be able to quickly get heat from them again by doing things like yelling at them not to chant or sing along with him. Very few heels nowadays, however, seem to be able to do that to the degree he can...maybe Elias is starting to build to that point but I don't feel he's there just yet.

I just worked out you can put people on your ignore list, so instead of getting frustrated and bent out of shape by the casual racism on these boards, I can just ignore the racists. Fucking brilliant.

Re: Sasha vs. Bayley:
If they weren't going to feud, it seems weird to have them come to blows, but it seems weird to cool it down with all this other stuff. I wonder if the plan was to have them feud one week, and then it changed the next because they remembered they might want a set of Women's Tag belts? |

Sasha turns on Bayley next week because she feels like Bayley isnt reciprocating the love Sasha is giving. And then the Summerslam match is made. |

As much as WCW gets atleast they didn't confiscate signs.
I remember tuning in one night and front and center there was a sign that said "Rather be at raw" |

For a split second when I first saw Strowman's T-Shirt, I actually thought it was Zangief from Street Fighter.

Does WWE still confiscate the signs then? That's a good way to inspire fan initiative.

Happened a few weeks ago with someone with a giant "MAGA" sign who showed it once and then was either moved to a different seat or kicked out. |

What is the story behind The Miz's "Be Miz" thing? Is it a parody of something? He's been using it forever, and I've never really gotten what it is about.

For those who ask "What the hell is a Joey Janella"... these are the promo videos for "Lost In New York" which is co promoted with Game Changer Wrestling. GCW seems to be a hardcore fed, I've never been to their shows but they work here in the North East. I'm going to "Lost in New York" and videos like this is why I'm so excited...
