According to the Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW holding a house show during Mania week is both for financial reasons and to give some of their talent who work mostly on Dark shows some added experience working in front of a large live crowd.
Since they've been stuck in the same general area as WWE these past months, they decided they might as well try to capitalize on the influx of fans traveling to Florida for Mania week. Quote:

I read it a 3 hour drive from Tampa to Jacksonville. That card is pretty whack tbh. I think it would be fine if there was a proper draw on top though. MJF vs Jericho or idk ... Something worth driving 3 hours for.

Most Mania weekend shows are within 30 minutes of the host city. Regardless of what the card looked like I don't think a show 3+ hours away is attempting to compete.
Most of the Mania weekend shows have attendance caps (smaller attendance than usual, obviously) so this is giving people on the other side of the state a show to go to if they can't get to any of the other Mania weekend shows. More broadly, I said something in the WWE thread about whether or not they'll get back to house shows but I think there is value for AEW or anybody else to run some house shows once the world opens. House show touring doesn't have to be a permanent thing but I think this fall the demand to go to events will be at an all-time high it makes sense to just ride the wave for a bit. |

I think AEW is really doing this for live crowd experience for all the young blood they have on the roster.

For a house show tier event, that card feels about right for it.
Doesn't look that appealing compared to some of the big indie events going on that weekend nor WWE's TakeOver and Mania events but that's not really the purpose of a house show. |

It's a solid House Show card. This was the last WWE House Show I attended. London Ontario at the John Labatt Centre in 2016.
WWE Tag Team Titles Match The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) (c) defeated The Wyatt Family (Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman) Sheamus defeated Sin Cara Open Challenge Apollo Crews defeated Sheamus Cesaro and Titus O'Neil defeated Social Outcasts (Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas) WWE Intercontinental Title Match Darren Young defeated The Miz (c) by disqualification Sami Zayn defeated Kevin Owens WWE Women’s Title Match Charlotte (c) defeated Natalya The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) defeated The Club (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) 3-Way Match - WWE Title Match Dean Ambrose (c) defeated AJ Styles and Seth Rollins |

That's a great house show card Gert. I don't think it's comparable to the AEW card.

The biggest name missing from AEW’s show is Mox, he’s working Bloodsport on Thursday but they understandably don’t want to risk bringing anyone who was at the Collective to the AEW show in case there’s any sort of outbreak.

I'll watch MMA. Love watching MMA. I don't go so far as to know stats, or whatever. But man, is it good to watch some fighting.
Prefer K1, honestly. Boxing can get boring, MMA can get really boring when the fight goes to the floor. Dudes in K1 just keep beating the shit outta one another. Bring back Pride FC - that was the shit. |

Yeah Igor was on the first Pride show I ever saw. He knocked the fuck out of someone.
Main event was Sakuraba vs Renzo Gracie. It ended when Renzo had his back, but Sakuraba spun behind him and in the process broke Renzo's fucking arm. I was hooked after that. |

According to the Observer Newsletter, Ivelisse currently has some backstage heat regarding a recent issue with her and a few of AEW coaches.
That's been the reason why Diamante has been doing singles matches in recent weeks. Quote:

Was a little behind but caught up. Really enjoying Show on commentary. Feel like lots of new guys that come into commentary try to make everything about them. Paul is really smooth, calls matches really well, and really focuses on putting talent over. Had no idea he'd be this good at it.
