Fuego is only on Dark I believe. He's mostly known as Sammy's sidekick on Sammy's YT vlog.

No not Ana and Tay. It just needs to end. It's never worked and it's just time to phase it out.

Meh, they've basically taken over Being the Elite and they're popular so I don't mind them sticking around for now.
If they ever do split a proper Uno/Grayson vs. Silver/Reynolds match could slap. |

You are very correct Destor. AEW is very much like ECW in the sense their core audience thinks all of the roster is huge stars based on the their perception of said wrestlers inside that small bubble.
If they had a bunch of stars, they wouldn't keep bringing in WWE castoffs to try and gain attention. They wouldn't need to run 72 wrestlers out on a 2 hour show. They wouldn't need to partner with Impact or New Japan despite having WCW levels of contracted wrestlers on the payroll. They wouldn't have stopped growing the audience. None of their let's call them original talent are stars. Putting a bunch of old retired wrestlers with them does not make them stars. The Elite themselves, are any of them really stars? Cody booked himself out of the title scene, and seems far more interested in reality TV and behind the scenes while keeping himself just relevant enough to keep getting outside offers. The Young Bucks feel like they are only winning because they are in charge, moreso than any other wrestler I can think of, including HHH. Kenny Omega has been an utter failure since leaving New Japan. His title run has been garbage, his best 2 matches have been losses, and he is working a midcard faction gimmick based on something from like 5 years ago. Adam Page has shown flashes, but they seem more interested in him being a comedy gimmick then actually pushing him. The WWE guys have all flopped with the exception of the early 3, Jericho, Moxley, and Pac, and even with their success in AEW, Jericho is really the only actual star of the 3. Nobody outside of the established fan base knows Mox or Pac at all, and we saw the bad reaction to Jericho after that NBA game lead in. Their biggest star power comes from the announcers table, and Sting. The so called casual lapsed fans from 20 years ago aren't going to say "Wow Sting is back, I have to watch". They are going to say "What, that dude still wrestles? WHY???" I rally against the overbearing fandom far more than I do the actual product, but the actual product is a clusterfuck at best, and at worst it feels like an overhyped TNA with a bigger budget and a larger sense of unearned smugness. |

I agree with a lot of what you said there. This is a short list of the some of the talents I would like to see highlighted every week (matches or angles)
Inner Circle The Pinnacle Death Triangle Mox Kingston Hangman Christian Paul Wight John Silver Sting Archer Cage Starks Butcher & Blade Best Friends & OC Jungle Boy Cody Britt Baker Anna Jay Tay Conti Serena Deeb Statlander ............ Pretty much everyone else I'm good with being relegated to Dark until they come up with something good for them. ............ I'd really like to see the following hired. Andrade ACH Lio Rush Davey Boy Smith Jr. Chris Hero Rowan Jimmy Havoc Marty Scurl Authors of Pain Cain Velasquez Tessa Blanchard Jordynn Grace |

Out of that hiring list, Smith Jr. is already rumored to have signed with WWE.
Think Havoc retired shortly after his AEW release. Also can probably cross out Scurll and Blanchard since both are not worth the negative baggage they'd bring it. Even NJPW backed off from wanting to use Scurll after word leaked out they had him at a taping and the huge backlash it generated both within the Strong locker room and online. Only one I'd really bring in would be Grace since she'd be a great addition to AEW's women's division. Maybe Andrade as well assuming he's not going right back to Mexico as its been hinted. |

I don't think AEW working with other companies is a bad thing. It's fresh to see it on a major televised wrestling show.

There are not and never have been any actual stars in wrestling outside of Hogan, Rock, Cena and Austin.
In terms of people the average wrestling fan wasn't interested in and now is, within AEW, those I mentioned fit the bill as stars for AEW. They are people AEW fans tune in looking forward to see. Not a hard concept to understand. It applies to any tv show that has any type of fandom. |

Also fits with them being way more open minded than WWE when it comes to working with other companies and embracing a world of wrestling outside of their own. Same for the mindset when it comes to embracing wrestling history. |

Sammy Guevara's spot can be taken by Ricky Starks and very few would notice. Wait, that's not true. People would notice that the guy who used to be Sammy is suddenly a better worker and talker. Jade is green. she needs more time. John Silver is a joke. Dude is only slightly larger than the Child, and puts nothing on his shit. It looks bad. As for Fire Ant, he does some interesting stuff, but his form is the drizzling shits. I don't give a fuck if it is his gimmick. There's a reason why you don't hit the ropes without your arm grabbing the rope. Look up "Larry Zybysko vs. Larry Winters" for a good reason why. Britt Baker is the Female Kenny Omega. That is not a compliment. Because both wrestle at the level of their opponent. Give them a good opponent (Thunder Rosa, Okada), and they look amazing. Give them a terrible opponent (Big Swole, most of his AEW opponents) and their flaws are very apparent. Britt's talked about for 2 reasons: 1. She bled a lot and 2. She was in a great match with one of the best women's wrestlers in the world. |

I wouldn't go as far as to call her great in the ring. She's improved from being the drizzling shits, but she's still got a long way to go.
Agreed that her character work is stellar, tbough. |

Well "Great in the ring" could be considered a subjective opinion. For me she comes off like a skilled worker, usually her matches have a struggle to them that comes off more realistic than most women's matches in AEW which are more focused on hitting the choreography that's been planned out. Baker seems to tell a story more and present a more realistic approach to "her moves" in the ring.

Pretty cool to see a lot of the AEW talent putting over WWE talent for Mania Saturday work. The animosity that lived between WWF/WCW doesn't have to exist for AEW/WWE.

Outside of your Baron Corbin types, the two locker rooms are mostly very friendly towards each other. Makes sense since they've also been partying and hanging out a lot together because of their close proximity during the pandemic. |

Ivelisse got released from AEW.
Based on tweets from her and responses by others in the company, the main issue seems to revolve around backstage issues and resentment she was still having with Thunder Rosa ever since their infamous match. Also her beef with Rosa wasn't new and instead dates back to their time together in Lucha Underground. |

The only two the average person who doesn't watch wrestling might have heard of, other than the people above, are Undertaker and Ric Flair. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people didn't know Batista was a wrestler.
If you ask a random stranger on the street who Roman Reigns or Sasha Banks is they'd have no idea what you are talking about. |

That doesn't mean they aren't stars within the wrestling business. The more accurate statement would be that there are no cross culture stars other than hogan, rock, Cena and austin. Though I would throw Macho Man in there too. I feel most people know of him as much, if not more so than cena.

People not knowing stars from the past doesn’t mean they weren’t stars in their day. A guy like Gorgeous George for example was a star even if people on the street don’t recognize him today.
But even if current popularity with the average person is your standard for some reason: Andre, Flair, Piper... Last edited by #1-norm-fan; 04-14-2021 at 11:26 PM. |

I guess my main point was there are WAY more stars in the history of wrestling than those four you mentioned regardless of your standards.
My secondary point (and I think Destor’s point) is that there’s a huge difference between the star power of those guys and some people the existing AEW audience enjoys. A star is someone who draws people to the product. Not someone who is just enjoyed by the existing audience. If any of those people quit tomorrow, it wouldn’t matter. |

Yeah I'd like to read more but ultimatly I don't really care about what she has a problem with. She seems like trouble based on her past.
Last night at Dynamite was great, but it was also a great investigation into the biggest flaw on Tony's booking. Complete over booking due to many stables and massive roster. The inner circle/Pinnacle stuff was an example of how it can work and make sense and progress the story. The Dark Order/Archer/Sting/Scorpio/Page getting involved in Darby and Hardy also made SOME sens, but ultimately was definitely too much. Did it hurt the match? No it didn't. But it was a weak excuse to further whatever storyline the are pushing for Archer and Sting. They need to make time for Archer, he should be considered a major star in the making not a side player working his way up. I definitely was feeling some Russo era WCW vibes during these large clusters. Not that I hated them, it's still refreshing from WWE, but we know where Russo style booking took WCW. Another complaint I have is the lack of selling from The Bucks and Fenix. They do so many cool moves and yet they don't matter for as soon as they've happened. They move into the next sequence immediately. Combos combos combos. They do some of the sickest spots you've never seen (and a lot that you have) and nobody sells anything. They just pop up and transition into the next killer spot. This sucks that The Bucks are EVP'S be at nobody is going to force them to change. They keep treating every match like a PWG show. It's very frustrating because obviously they could be so much better than what we get if they would just take the advice of every veteran who's made money in the buisness and just slowwww dowwwwwn. |

I also think they have too many no dq, hard-core style matches. They lose their impact when they're used too frequently.
