Yeah it's a little ridiculous to make constant excuses. How about blame the fact that there was nothing interesting booked for the show? I didn't watch this week and it doesn't sound like I missed anything at all.
They gotta up the ratio of must see episodes of Dynamite. It confuses me how they have Christian working programs that mean absolutely nothing and Big Show tucked away on YouTube. Get it together. There is a good amount of great talent and interesting characters but they aren't always using them in a way that is drawing me in. Part of it also is Kenny, he's very hit or miss. I don't feel like he is a major star at this point. They probably shouldn't have tucked him away in a tag team for nearly a year. |

Remember when Smackdown did great ratings when it first aired on Thursdays, up against NBC's "Must See Thursday" line up when EVERYBODY watched it. Sure didn't hear a lot of excuses then.

Weekly ratings discussion is easily my least favorite thing about current wrestling fandom.
Doesn't matter if AEW or WWE are doing good numbers or bad, their fanbases always end up arguing over the numbers every week. It's so fucking boring. |

Like if a show was struggling badly enough in the ratings for a prolonged amount of time where cancellation seemed possible, that might be a discussion worth having. But none of these shows are at that point so they'll just keep plugging along yet people will keep arguing or gloating or getting defensive or dick measuring over numbers. I don't get it.

The 800k area isn't "bad" for Dynamite in my opinion. It's probably above or near average. I'd just like to see them over 1 million each week. I don't care about the demos personally, it's the total viewers that gets me intrigued. Though I'm glad they do well in their demo because that's what the broadcasters care about most. Regardless if I love a particular show or not I really want AEW to be around for years and years to come.

Until they solidify that young core, going to see these spikes keep happening in both directions and not just because of AEW having a hyped up gimmick show or something major happened outside of wrestling that week. |

I wonder where BigCrippyZ is at these days? I can’t wait for him to tell me how things matter in AEW. You know, like War Games and the World Title, which is just about to be contested by Adrian Neville and their version of Santino Marella.
So fucking good when you’re right after a bunch of smug cunts try to pressure you into thinking what they do. Big men would apologize. |

Not a fan of Orange Cassidy, but what's wrong with PAC? He's one of the better wrestlers in AEW, both in ring and on the mic. And he's booked fairly well, although the pandemic definitely put a wrench in that.

Nothing’s wrong with him, per se. Very talented guy. Was in my top five workers a few years ago back when he first turned heel. He hasn’t been presented any better in AEW than he was in WWE though, and he’s never been put in the proper position where he can earn cache as a potential draw. He’s not exactly the act you’d think would end up in a big four PPV. He’s a TV main eventer in stature right now.

PAC looks like a star when you stand him next to Omega and Cassidy.

I have zero doubts that Pac would be a vastly more interesting World Champion than Kenny Omega. That said, I think it would be more so because Kenny has been a Flop instead of Pac being a huge draw.

Christian has been booked horribly so far. I don't get it at all. He debuts with Kenny and now he's in the Casino Battle Royal and his first match was with Kazarian. Stupid.

I can't understand my own feelings on Kenny. Obviously his big matches are fun and really good but I hate his run as champion so far. My favorite thing he's done was that promo at Blood and Guts. I don't know how his star fell so far from his NJPW days to now. I've always attributed it to anime. He was like a live anime character in Japan and that is their nerd culture so the fans loved it. But here he just comes off over the top and stupid.

It's not so much that. He's just been booked really shitty co.pared to his run in Japan. I imagine he has a lot of creative control, so it's his own fault.

Christian got the worse of it since his debut was too close to Big Show's AEW debut and got overshadowed by it. Plus the hype surrounding the mystery person debut ended up being way too massive for someone of Christian's star status. The stuff with Kenny was never meant to be more than just a tease at a potential opponent for Kenny down the line and not him actually feuding for the belt right out of the gate. Had he actually feuded with Omega, the complaints of AEW being just like TNA in regards to WWE rejects being booked in prominent spots would have been even more louder and annoying online. |

No she's a lot less of a zombie and more like someone who is deranged in the head and thinks she's some sort of undead being.
Sort of like Aleister Black's previous persona of him being heavily implied to be a Satanist or occultist despite him not actually acting as one for his character. She's probably closer to Bray Wyatt's "Wyatt Family" cult leader persona in terms of twistedness and spookiness but minus the supernatural powers bit. WWE portrayed the zombies at Mania Backlash as being actual zombies and had them acting in a stereotypical manner like the ECW Zombie back in the day. Jericho's comments were also in response to PWI claiming several within WWE said AEW's version of War Games "set the industry back 30 years." |

Yeah she's also closer to Rosemary in terms of her gimmick, especially if you took away all the supernatural stuff Rosemary has done in Impact in recent years.
The closest zombie-related thing she's done in AEW is bite people a couple of times. If that counts as being a zombie then NJPW's Yujiro Takahashi counts as one since he's always chomping on people's fingers during his matches. |

I don't know why, but the NBA is the one I didn't go back to after the Covid shutdown. I could do without it bumping wrestling that's for sure.
