The Other Guys-8/10
Happened to be on Netflix so I gave it a watch. My brother told me it was a spoof, so I didn't take it seriously, and I'm glad I didn't. Laughed a lot during it's 1.5 hour run time. |

7/10. Uwe Boll's only non-video game film despite the title is also named after the Rampage 80's arcade style yet the cover seemed like a CounterStrike artwork cover. Really enjoyed how the young dude goes from a very innocent calm guy working as a grease monkey by day but later, becomes a SWAT wannabe shooter maniac. |

King Kong (1933) - 10/10 First time I watched this today. It was superb. I liked the animation with King Kong and the other monsters. |

Biutiful - Wasn't expecting a lot from this cause I thought Babel was just awful and kinda prententious, plus this was hammered by a lot of critics, but I actually quite liked it. I read some of the critics reviews and they attacked it for being too bleak, which is dumb. It was a little overlong and some subplots could have been taken out but the cinematography and score were amazing. Bardem was fantastic as well, def made the movie, he is one of the best actors working today, he also looks like he has a huge head, I mean that literally too, like his cranium/mandible looks massive.
The Phenix City Story - Really entertaining B Noir from the 50s. About a town corrupted by crime and a father/son lawyer team who fight to clean the town up in the name of democracy or whatever. Really dark for it's time, there is a scene where a twelve year old black girl is killed then thrown onto the lawyer's lawn. It was also based on a true story and I was dissapointed to find that the younger lawyer John Patterson apparently went on to run for governor of Alabama, and ran a segregationist campaign that was to the right of friggin George Wallace(who was a pretty big racist). But he also endorsed Barrack Obama so who knows. |

Pirates: Stranger Tides 7.5/10
As a big fan of the previous 3 movies, I really liked the 4th installment of the series. I would rank it as my 2nd favorite of the 4. My only complaints were the mostly recycled soundtrack and the film couldve used more Blackbeard. I hope they continue with these one off, adventure type films for the next sequels. |

True Grit (2010) - 10/10
I had to watch this with subtitles cause Jeff Bridges was so hard to understand in his Foghorn Leghorn accent. Other than that, it was friggen excellent. The girl who played Mattie has a bright future ahead of her. |

The Maltese Falcon - 8.5/10. Humphrey Bogart absolutely kills it here as the flawed hero Sam Spade. Noir movies are far from my forte, which between that and the fact that it was made in 1940 may have held me back from REALLY appreciating it...but still a really excellent film.

That film is rather strange, and I felt oddly compelled to keep watching it until 2am in the morning. Quite dark in some places as well. |

O.C. Babes & The Slasher Of Zombietown - 0/10
The soundtrack was so loud compared to the dialogue, and so high-pitched, that it caused me physical pain. Possibly the worst movie I've ever seen, although they did splice in 20 minutes of Night of the Living Dead, for some reason. |

I regret already rating anything a zero, because this is the worst thing ever produced, in the history of mankind, by a long way. |

I watched Las Vegas Bloodbath with Jabba (and Afterlife and Vindicator). I literally spent the last twenty minutes punching myself in the head to try and make myself forget that I was watching it.

Really liked it. At first the first half was boring. But, the 2nd half was good aside from the usual love story. Lots of old Spielberg references, E.T. Goonies, Jurassic Park, Close Encounters, and a bit of Cloverfield alien style. It even had a titanic-ish scene where the amulet of the boy's mom photo in it, gets magnetized on the metal pieces that were flying to reform the spaceship. Yes, it felt like Goonies only instead of treasure pirate hunters, we have high school zombie filmmakers. And stay for the end credits because of a short film of the main protagonists' school film project called, "THE CASE" they made throughout the movie ala 80's zombie style short film. LOLZ stuff. :P 8/10. |

Driving Miss Daisy - 6/10 No idea how this one best picture. Went in bit biased because it one best picture year Do The Right Thing wasn't even nominated, more furious over that situation now. Movie had some moment I guess, but overall just nothing special.

Reservoir Dogs - Why is this filmed in a nonlinear pattern? Why does it take 5 minutes for a simple thing to happen? Why is The Lime In the Coconut the credits song? It's so out of place. Why is Steve Buscemi doing such a great acting job? Why does Quinton Tarantino look like a real life version of Beavis?
I don't know what I should rate this. The acting was awesome, the plot was great, the pacing of a Tarantino movie was slowwwww and it I didn't care for some dialogue, and I was hoping it would hurry up and be over at times. I guess I'll say 7/10 |

Exam - 7/10. Minimalist study of the human person under pressure. 8 people get offered a high profile job at a Fortune 500 company if they can only answer one question in an 80 minute window. Some basic rules are set in place as to how people will be disqualified, and off they go...until they find that none of them actually have a question on their sheets. How things unfold are interesting, if not a bit contrived. Ending is kind of a letdown, but overall worth the viewing.
Also, not understanding Jabba's fascination w/ watching shitty C movies. Dunno why one would put themselves through that. |

Horrible in every way. It gets a point because it was clearly made by school kids, who at least tried to make something interesting, with no budget. |

fucking awesome. I could care less about the distracting CGI 3-D stuff. Had funny dialogue too.. Wayy up there with the humor of Iron Man. Hal Jordan by Ryan Reynolds is almost as cocky and a prick like Tony Stark.. His humor too. :P I loved the part where he tried reciting the Lantern Corps oath when he tried on the Green ring by quoting, "TO INFINITY AND BEYOND ALA TOY STORY TO HE-MAN, "BY THE POWER OF GRAY--- WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSE TO SAY?!?!" LOLZ moment. And stay for the start of the end credits roll, another scene for a sequel involving, SPOILER: show 10/10. Last edited by Raven Reaper; 06-17-2011 at 09:13 PM. |
