Yeah, when I say unfair, I mean doing it on a fresh play without any NG+ items. Like, I'm doing hardcore from a fresh save...

VOS without infinite ammo will be insane. Average lycans take ~10-20 rounds from the Dragoon (depending on your aim). Also, the Duke's stuff goes up in price each time you have to buy something.
If you are a headshot king, it's possible to get it done, but it will be a slog. Otherwise, you won't have enough ammo and despite the lei dropped on VOS, it still won't be enough to buy the stuff you need. VOS introduces new spawns as well. Armored lycans are introduced very early. Good luck! |

Baldur's Gate 3.
So good, and so glad they gave it to Larian to make instead of Obsidian. They've done a fantastic job, even in early access. Still a bit disappointed with having turn based combat instead of real time with pause but can't have everything. They nailed the Baldur's Gate feel while putting it into a more modern package. Love how the early game is really hard just like in the first game but you slowly become stronger and it becomes easier. |

Played through The Outer Worlds DLCs. Murder on Eridanos easily the better of the 2.
Haven't gotten the drive to start over again. |

Dipped back into Monster Hunter World on XBox.
Never did Alateron or Fatalis. Gonna do those. Been having fun just answering SOS calls and helping out less experienced hunters. I'll start a new character and play if anyone wants to join. Think that shits on game pass. |

Yeah Monster Hunter is leaving game pass soon. That said it's probably worth buying, as it's one of the best live service games out there, if you're into that type of game.
Not for me though.. When it comes to grindy loot based game, art design and aesthetic is really important to me. That weird pseudo medieval fantasy design that you see in a lot of jrpgs has never appealed to me, and monster hunter is very much in that group. |

I own it and owned it before Gamepass, so I'll def still play.
I just enjoy the challenge. Doesn't feel "grindy" to me, but I know it is for the endgame stuff. I have nearly 700 hours on my main. I tend to hop on with a Gunlance to help other hunters with hard fights. Good fun. |

Charge blade + Clutch Claw = EZ mode. Seriously. You get an assignment that teaches you how to do it which basically results in infinite Zero Day Discharges (or wtf ever they are called).
The grind isn't as terrible either, since all the additions they made to the Elder Melder. Those hard-to-find gems can all be traded for useless other items that you may never use. Made getting Rathalos gems a fuckton easier, not to mention elder dragons. I'll boost/quest with anyone on Xbox who wants to play, lemme know. |

Tried it a week or two ago but the controls were too clunky for me. (Monster Hunter)
Re-played the Fable trilogy since I heard it's going to be re-booted. Finished the main quest of Outriders. Just beat Donut County a quick fun game. |

I've bought and tried to get into multiple different monster hunter games. I like the premise of it and the systems at play but I have never been able to get over how "stiff" the controls feel. Like your character feels heavy and slow to react.

Had Everspace kicking around my PS library and gave it a try.
Didn't like the whole "Run" concept. I knew I was going to get my ass kicked way more than I should before the game gets "fun". The whole upgrade system was a sham. Elite Dangerous & No Man's Sky are better space games. Wanna get back into Elite so bad, but I'm waiting for the Odyssey expansion to hit consoles. |

The weapon types all have a different feel and it takes some trial and error to figure out what suits your play style. Some are clunky and sluggish but theres some on the quicker end which give you more mobility. Insect Glaive is a flippyboi spot monkey. Greatsword is a slow, lumbering knockout punch. There's only like three weapons I dont totally suck with. I can't even run Sword and Shield or Bow, which you'd think would be basic and easy to pick up. Can definitely see how spending a few hours just finding a weapon style you actually enjoy could be off putting though.

Exactly that. I started witha Gunlance which has long wind up times and slow animations. Played with it for a very long time. Switched to the Insect Glaive (think bo staff) and the difference was huge. Still love mah Gunlance tho. Think of each weapon as a "different character" because literally all of your skills change. |

Playing the new Dark Alliance. Pretty fun for a budget game. I grew up reading the R.A. Salvatore books, so its cool to finally play as these characters. Needs polish in some areas, but there's lots of potential here.
Also commendable that they using the Witcher 3 model for dlc. No microtransactions whatsoever. Just large paid expansions with free new content sprinkled in between. You love to see it. |

Was so pumped for Dark Alliance but then it looked meh. The reviews then came to be meh.
Is there a story mode or is it just a online destroy everything game? |

Big story mode. Its alright. Started off as Drizzt but changed up to the Dwarf Tank and its much more suited for my playstyle.
Just wish they'd let you swap gear mid-level. |

Currently playing Scarlet Nexus. Story is one of those insanely complex scifi stories that technically makes sense...if you can even follow it. But I really don't care about that at this point because this game has something else going for it: One of the most fun combat systems I have ever experienced. The amount of non stop fast paced madness and detailed combinations you can dish out at lightning speeds is just incredible, and yet it never feels like you are out of control or just button mashing. Yes you can get to a point where you are just plowing through enemies with ease but if you do it's because of skill and timing, not because you are overpowered or it got easy suddenly. You can obliterate a 5 pack of an enemy in 3 seconds, or you can get wrecked by a single one of them almost as fast if you botch your plan. Every battle feels exciting as such, even ones that are over in seconds. Just tons of fun imo.

So, I finally bit the bullet thanks almost entirely to the announcement of Advance Wars 1+2 and got myself a Switch (pretty much before it somehow becomes scarce around Christmas time again). Didn't want a vanilla looking console, and found myself a Monster Hunter version. Any top recommendations of shit I should get (besides the inevitable BotW mentions)?

Played Maquette. Dumbest puzzle game I played in a while. I'm curious to know what Bryce Dallas Howard got paid for like 10 minutes of voice work.

Finished the first campaign of scarlet nexus. Gonna break it up with some dark alliance before diving into the second.
Played the first couple levels of Dark Alliance and it's not bad. Was expecting way worse from reviews, but my personal enjoyment of it may have something to do with the fact that I played and actually had fun with the trainwreck that is Godfall. They are very similar games tbh. Chose Drizz't as my character because it's mfing Drizz't, yo. Realized already that I probably made the wrong choice for what is going to be a solo run but I refuse to give in and switch and will grind my way through it. Just have to adapt a more souls like hit and run approach. |

Yeah Drizz't for sure not the choice for single player in DA. I've got me a game plan now and i can get through the battles but some of them take an exceedingly long time as I dart in and out for minimal damage trying to rebuild my ultimate. Upgrading all the main potions has been a big help, as well the extra consumable capacity upgrade I will get after the next level I run. The main issue now is it is very much a slog going through a stage on some of the higher difficulties needed for better lewtz. Ah well, back to the grind.
