I gave Justice League 2.5/4 which was pretty generous in retrospect. I have seen it twice since then and it's probably more of a 2/4 film.
Zach Snyder seems to be trying to destroy Superman for everybody. |

I seem to have rated it an 8/10 at the time. Would probably go a bit lower now.
But I did actually enjoy it. Not great, and nowhere near what a Justice League movie could be or should be..... but many a Marvel movie that I would rewatch Justice League over rewatching them. |

Read a thing the other day that the Justice Society is gonna be in the Black Adam movie, and depending on how well Black Adam does, they are "keeping in mind" the option of a future JSA movie (nothing in development, just that they are open to it).

I put all of my eggs in the Shazam basket and I regret nothing.
Though Aquaman really was a good film. It has a few runtime issues but it's up there, easily the best besides Shazam. |

Imagine being the studio head that thought "I'm giving Aquaman to horror auteur James Wan" just before he made them a billion dollars.

Haven't finished the last season of The Flash, but the actor who plays Elongated Man has been fired from the show for some racist misogynistic tweets he made in the past or something.....

Sounds like the issue of Batman w/ Punchline (Joker's new girlfriend) has been selling extremely well, might be the most bought issue of Batman in a long time

DC canned it's long-time relationship w/ Diamond, who distributed all of DC and Marvel comics. They are using two smaller publishing houses now. A lot of people wondering if this will hurt or help comic book shops, because they will have to pay more money on shipping now to get comics in, especially outside the U.S.

bleedingcool.com reporting all previous plans, like the big 5G "age out all the heroes" stuff is off the table permanently now that Didio is out.
Bleedingcool hinting DC is looking to get away from monthly printed comics in the next several years because ATT/WarnerMedia see the fast turn around time for printing, rushed editing and it just doesn't make sense in 2020 financially....Said in the next few years expect DC to shift more towards Original Graphic Novels, especially geared towards teens, as recent OGNs have sold really, really well (slik note: I liked the Catwoman one, "Under The Moon") and there is no rush to get them to press. They also won't have to worry about continuity, as all OGNs take place in their own, contained universe. DC recently signed a big deal with book publishing magnate Penguin Books, who will help market and distribute all future OGNs. Moving away gradually from monthly comics is rumored to be part of the reason they canned Diamond as well. BleedingCool.com speculates if monthly comics exist in a few years, it will be less titles and likely all digital release only. |

To give you an idea of what that future might look like....Here all the recent original graphic novels DC has done so far (the art in the Dick Grayson one was cool)

Read the Mera one.... and that's it....
I think getting away from monthly comics is actually not a bad idea.... just been chugging along for so long.... goes through so many peaks and valleys in terms of storytelling..... graphic novels allow them to just tell stories "as they come" and "develop them more".... Something like their Earth One graphic novels would be good.... like instead of monthly Superman/Batman/Etc.... you just get occasional graphic novels that form a continuity.... (and then you can continue to do all the non-continuity graphic novels too) |

Like, I think monthly comic books "peaked" a long time ago, like early 2000s maybe..... and since then just been awkwardly dragging things out, rebooting, reshuffling, retooling, just trying to fill every month with content..... still have some good peaks in there no doubt, but overall just doesn't have that "momentum" behind it.....

That's my take too @Damian Rey
The endless 'event series' have sort of done me in too...their next one by Scott Snyder, DEATH METAL, is supposed to somehow tie in ALL of DC History but here's the thing....that is like EVERY DC 'event series' now. It gets so silly after a while when DC is like, ok let's make our little mythology even more complex by adding another hidden layer to it and another biggest bad of all-time. I think the last big events I enjoyed were either FLASHPOINT or BLACKEST NIGHT. DC's obsession with it's own continuity has become way too complex. Just tell me a good story. |

I've never bothered reading those because they just seem needlessly convoluted. I loved Snyder's run on the new 52 reboot of Batman. Court of owls and zero year were stellar. I'd love you see more big stories like that in one long read.

I also started avoiding anything to do w Brian Michael Bendis as a writer. When he came to DC as the genius of Marvel, who birthed so many things that found their way into the MCU I thought 'cool, time for a fresh voice'.
Everything I've read he's written in DC so far has been a massive waste of time. NOTHING HAPPENS I want to estimate 80-90% of the time in his plots. And the things that do, are never elaborated on or explained. He has done more harm to Superman as a character than any writer I think ever. Supes was in such a good place too when Bendis took over as it's new creative auteur. The entire Superfamily is a huge mess now, just a massive, massive mess. I wanted to see how he would handle an event series so I gave his Leviathan series a shot and that was the final straw. That was the worst 'event series' I have ever read and the most pointless. NOTHING HAPPENED. It could have been one-issue, not six. The plot, based on a big mystery, which happens off-panel, has a stupid twist no one could guess because the big reveal involved someone who had not appeared in the book. And then it was left open-ended with zero resolution. DC of course stupidly promoted it as something that would change DC forever. |

The positive about doing graphic novels 3 or 4 times a yr is that you can treat them like movies. One big story that'd typically span a year or so if published monthly. Also the writers could take their time.

I think at this point if I'm following DC mythology correctly...The multiverse was created by Perpetua who is the mom of the Anti-Monitor and Monitor and she wants to turn it evil and use it (the multiverse) as a weapon to destroy all of the other multiverses (because there can't just be one) because there is now an "omniverse" of unlimited multiverses created by whatever type of being Perpetua is. And the reason we've never heard of her before during any of the umpteen mulitverse events is because she was trapped in the Source Wall, which shielded DC's multiverse from the omniverse. But there is also, now, of course, THE DARK MULTIVERSE, which is made up worlds deemed not good enough for the multiverse. And Perpetua needs to control the dark multiverse to control the multiverse so she can destroy the omniverse. Or something like that. Until DC reboots with some other god-awful idea that will probably be crafted by Bendis and make zero sense. Definitely not convoluted at all, I can't understand why you have avoided these things Damian! |

Yeah fuck that nonsense.
Agree on Court of Owls as movie villains. Maybe if Reeves' Pattinson led bat movie does well he'll go to them next. Seems to fit his style of villainy. Here's the other thing I'd love about OGN; the art would stay consistent. I hate reading graphic novels that are told thru different character issues. Always takes me out of it whenthe art changes. |

And I like w/ OGNs they could tell the story, through one or four graphic novels and then boom, someone else could tell a totally different story without worrying about continuity. Just focused on good stories and nice art.
