What’s shocking is that they’re still choosing to team together.

(OR probably they realize they can make more $ and are more "marketable" as a "name" together than apart)

Eh, I know that's the thing about former WWE wrestlers on the indy scene...but it's the fucking Ascension.
They'll be TNA Tag Champs soon. |

In retrospect, it's very funny how Triple H presented them as a legit bad-ass tag team, but Vince took one laugh at them and made them a bunch of comedy try-hards.

They were up there for ages. About five years. They spent more active time with WWE than Eddie Guerrero did.
Konnor got to eliminate DDP from an Andre Battle Royal too. I'm convinced that Konnor let Page fuck his wife. |

Yet it made Heath Slater. That's because Heath Slater is a once in a generation talent.

Eh, they were really hokey in the role. They were pretty terrible.
I was just thinking that it's been ten years of Heath Slater in WWE, baby! Who would have thought that out of everyone in that field, other than Daniel Bryan, Heath Slater would have had the longest stint with WWE? Me, but people would have said I was crazy. We're coming up to ten for Curtis Axel too. He may close in on the time his dad spent up there. |

Want to see Shelton Benjamin & Curtis Axel form a tag team for some reason. Also want to see Heath Slater vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.

Shinsuke Nakamura's recent IC Title reign lasted for 201 days. You have to go back nine years to Cody Rhodes to get someone that held it longer. I wish WWE would still make a deal out of stuff like this. It matters to young fans that are trying to connect to the guys in front of them. Stuff like that used to work on me when JR would talk about how long Randy Orton and Shelton Benjamin had held the belt, long after it was dead.

Closest dudes to a real Grand Slam in WWE are:
* Daniel Bryan, who only has to win the Universal Title. * Randy Orton, who only has to win the Universal Title. * Jeff Hardy, who only has to win the Universal Title. * Seth Rollins, who only has to win the SmackDown Tag Title. * Kofi Kingston, who only has to win the Universal Title. * The Miz, who only has to win the Universal Title. * Heath Slater, who only has to win the IC, US, WWE and Universal Title. |

It would be something if Bryan, Orton, Hardy, Rollins, Kingston and Miz all ended up on the same show as the Universal Title and were all chasing it to become the first guy to have ever won every single active belt in modern WWE.

Kind of slipped my mind that after the last Saudi show is when WWE had the NXT guys on standby to fill the show when they were stranded. Given how close Super Showdown and SmackDown are to each other, it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world to have more NXT talent on hand to help freshen up SmackDown and promote NXT, even if there isn't anything holding up the SmackDown guys.

Fingers crossed for a Funaki Hall Of Fame induction. Have y’all seen his cruiserweight match from the Armageddon PPV? Makes Ibushi - Alexander look like amateurs.

It’s a shame that WWE refuses to acknowledge the Intercontinental title reigns of one Val Venis. Chief Morley turning on Eric Bischoff and defeating Triple H at WM XIX for the World’s Heavyweight title would’ve been ten folds better than Punk winning the WWE title at Money in the Bank or Kingston being given the participation championship trophy at last year’s abomination of a WrestleMania because WWE sucks and I hope Vince gets cancer of the ass.

Would make for an interesting mini title tournament if the Universal Title is ever vacated for some reason. Maybe 2 triple threat matches and then a 1v1 for the title, or 3 1v1's and a triple threat final. Either or.

Why is Guru Dave so obsessed with me? Is it because I called him out for being creepy or because I called him out on crying racism to try and shame people? Flip a coin?

I highly recommend listening to this week's Between The Sheets podcast that looks at Feb 5-18th 1984.
the David Von Erich stuff is so good to get an insight to how his death impacted that area. grown men had tears in their eyes. girls were crying in their boyfriend's arms. you really get a sense just how beloved they were. truly hometown heroes. |

Not at all. So many posters end up obsessed with me that I even need to block some. I certainly didn’t notice, but I’m surprised anyone did when you changed your user name. What do you even bring to the table when it comes to discussion?

I know my taste in wrestling isn't as fancy as yours. I can't appreciate the in-ring prowess of Dough Basham or the incredible Cruiserweight Championship reign of Funaki. For a simpleton like me, Sunday Night Heat was all about Maven. That's right, as far as I am concerned he eclipsed Val Venis in a heartbeat. Venis was a joke. Maven - Mr. Sunday Night Heat for life.

And while we're at it, Essa Rios' booger had more charisma and in-ring acumen when compared to Val Venis.
