According to Fightful, NXT is also getting the wrestlers as the crowd treatment starting with tonight's episode.

WWE should do a fight pit tournament before the quarantine ends (i don't think they could pull off the cage like they had with a crowd)
It couldn't be worse than Brawl for All |

Texas joining the small group of states opening things up for sports and wrestling next month but unlike Florida and Arizona, they are allowing limited fans in attendance. Only Oklahoma has considered plans to do the same for June.
Also according to Fightful, WWE is freshening up their bloated NXT scene and weakened main roster brands with more call-ups planned over the next month. |

It doesn't make sense in kayfabe. The goal of wrestling shouldn't be to have a "great match." I guess you could call Hogan vs. Andre a "great match" in terms of that promotional tact, so maybe they're going for that, but why Edge and Orton? Like, even if you like both guys and take their careers in kayfabe, it's still not, like, "the biggest" or a dream match. And it does sound like it's setting them up for failure. You don't set up a joke by saying it is going to be the funniest thing you've ever heard in your life, and you don't set up a wrestling match by promising quality. You present it as something people want to see and let it unfold. I'm honestly feeling like it doesn't happen. Or not in the way the WWE is leading you to believe. My first thought when I heard about it was that it's going to be a bait-and-switch or something. I'm expecting The Undisputed Era to crash it and attack both guys or something. Even so, it's still an awful and weird promotional tactic. Quote:

No doubt Hogan will of course have a different recollection of events. |

Taker doing all sorts of interviews and podcasts in the past few months still feels like the weirdest fucking thing even though he's pretty much gone back to the American Bad Ass.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's announcing his retirement soon since that was the original purpose of WWE's Last Ride series and he did hint in a recent interview about something special being in store when the series is over.

The timing is, well, not perfect -- he's been around a long time, haha -- but appropriate thematically. Survivor Series is 30 years of Taker. Could be a good place for a final match, or for him to announce a final stretch into this third decade, incorporating the Royal Rumble, probably Saudi Arabia and WrestleMania.

Pity he couldn't have went out a few years back before his age really started to show in the ring. He could do a tag match or something and be relatively ok, but a 1-1 unless its only a few minutes he starts to go downhill after around the 8 or 9 minute mark.

There’s evidence to the contrary that he’d be ok in a tag match...

Watching NXT's "Pit Fight" and it could and maybe should be the future of pro-wrestling.
Keep the 10-count, Submission and add Pinfalls. It's very camera friendly and allows mat-based, submission and high-flying styles. Room for video/production too. |

I stand by the idea of a pit fight tourney ppv while they still have no crowds.

New wrestling biographical book based on Vince McMahon is currently in production with a potential 2022 release date.

I think he's exactly the sort of guy they'd want to make it, so they'll give it a real shot with him.
Had a feeling that a Vince McMahon book would be coming with the XFL. |

Ha, fair. But the story of the XFL coming back is pretty good framing for a Vince McMahon story.

The most interesting thing about it is that he looks like a Simpsons character. |
