I felt uncomfortable saying "Fuck Joey Ryan" because I have no watched the video and have no plans to watch the video, but fuck Joey Ryan.

Did he shave his stache for that video in an effort to not appear completely a sleazeball?

Yeah, no, I’m not watching an hour-long Joey Ryan video. Guilty.

Same for her situation being similar to Riddick Moss in regards to how sudden her promotion was and why it was done. Quote:

According to Bobby Fulton's son, Futlon's health has deteriorated and was rushed to the hospital earlier today.
May or may not be related to his current battle with throat cancer. Edit: Fulton's son revealed afterwards it was due to his throat cancer returning.

Weird they actually fired Lance Storm. That seems like a bad decision. You don’t want him to go to AEW and be ignored.

According to PWI, tonight is Kairi Sane's last day with WWE.
She's leaving for Japan after tonight's tapings which is covering tonight's and the July 27th episodes of RAW. |

Seems WWE might be experiencing another coronavirus outbreak at the PC or some other major thing suddenly popped up since WWE's taping plans for today have been delayed big time.

The Boom periods were always because of cultural movements that wrestling could easily take advantage of.

I wouldn't say it will never happen again, because you never know where we'll go as a people.
That said it's not going to happen any time soon because have you seen our culture lately? |

When Spike TV bought the tv rights to RAW, they used WWE's high profile at the time to help boost the profile of their smaller UFC property under the correct assumption that wrestling fans could become MMA fans as well. Once that plan started to bear fruit and UFC took off in mainstream popularity, Vince and WWE failed to both recognize and latch onto it since they saw MMA as nothing more than a fad. The failure of doing that ended up leading to a big shift of wrestling fans moving away from wrestling and into MMA with the repercussions of it lasting to this day. Within wrestling, ROH guessed right that the future of wrestling would shift more towards work rate for popularity but because they never could seriously challenge WWE, only way a new boom would actually happen is if WWE also recognized it. WWE failed to do so because of Vince's stubbornness over adapting to the changing wind in wrestling post-Attitude Era. |

That same argument could be applied to the "Ryder Revolution". Whatever your feelings about him were/are, he was mad over and did it himself at essentially the dawn of social media. He was the right guy in the right place at the right time, and WWE just said "nah".
I will always liken it to an alternate timeline where Austin cut his infamous Austin 3:16 promo, and then in spite of all of the crowd signs and subsequent pops, Vince just wasn't feeling it, and didn't capitalize with the shirts and a push. Instead, he just randomly shows up in backstage segments at catering and does the occasional job on Jakked/Metal/Shotgun. They were stubborn on getting behind a guy they saw little value in, and then almost insultingly, tried to use what he did to create their own less successful knockoff and back their own social media platform just a tad too late on that party. Basically, they dropped the ball twice there. |

Wrestling could have not gone down the slope it did, and it could have enjoyed little pockets of slightly increased popularity, but it was always going to get real cold after Austin shook Vince's hand. And the decisions they made -- namely to promote Cena so hard -- has allowed Vince to become richer than ever before without anyone that can hold a candle to him.
Vince "won" wrestling. Unless another billionaire comes along or The Rock decides to start his own promotion, you'll need Vince McMahon's empire to make you whatever passes as a star in wrestling. |

They'd latch onto social media afterwards but instead of making it feel organic or special like Ryder did, it quickly became just another cog in the WWE machine. Even moments like Fandango's dance and Bryan's YES! chants becoming sudden crazes outside of wrestling ended up being quickly wasted by WWE. |

Objectively, so was Hogan. Precisely why I added the portion about how any reader may feel about him personally. He wasn't the greatest, and neither was one of the biggest stars in the entire history of the whole goddamn company and arguably the industry.
He didn't have to be Ric Flair or anything. And my Austin comparison isn't 1:1 for talent, just circumstance. You can't deny that Zack Ryder tapped into something far bigger than himself in the exact perfect moment in time, and WWE not only just rode right past it until the iron nearly completely cooled, but then tried to blatantly counterfeit it and nobody bought in. |

I know you’re not saying it’s 1:1, but it’s not even close. Hulk Hogan had charisma for days and was a phenomenal worker. Amazing at selling and emoting. Zack Ryder couldn’t talk, couldn’t work and got over as a meme. When they tried to push him even a little bit, it was awful. Remember that promo he cut on Raw after winning the US Title?
Outside of being carried by Christian, has he even had a great match? |

Fandango, on the other hand, is the biggest missed opportunity in the history of the business.

Apparently WWE actually considered a potential Asuka vs. Natalya match for the RAW Women's Championship at SummerSlam.
Rumor going around the net is WWE's original plan was Asuka vs. Charlotte before that got dropped due to Charlotte needing boob fixing surgery. Plan B was Asuka vs. Natalya before that also got dropped due to Natty currently doesn't feel comfortable working due to coronavirus related issues. Plan C at the moment is Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler for the belt. |

I tell you what moment in WWE history I'm surprised doesn't ever get mentioned.
That time when Rikishi did a full-on diving splash from the top of a steel cage onto Val Venis at Fully Loaded 2000. That shit was insane. |

Rumor going around the net is that both FOX and USA Network have grown upset with WWE's sluggish ratings in recent times and are losing patience with WWE.
Vince's response is rumored to be him not really caring despite others in the company becoming very worried. Quote:

What exactly is pulling higher ratings for USA Network right now? Fox probably doesn’t have too much doing better ratings for a Friday night.

Yeah I have that match on a dvd and it's quite the fall. Even my memory of it from the PPV doesn't quite live up to the actuall footage. Val is a true hero for taking that splash. He had to have visions of his own demise. |
