Thinking about actually starting Bioshock Infinite tonight while waiting for RE4 to come out next week.

If it wasn't for the dumb storyline swerve around half-way to final third of the game, Bioshock Infinite likely would have been remembered a lot more fondly than it is.
Went from being a critique of sorts of America's history of racism post-Civil War to early 1900s to being pro-racism of sorts because of that really dumb swerve. The game's Columbia setting and gameplay with the elixir powers was really good. Last edited by Emperor Smeat; 03-16-2023 at 07:08 PM. |

In the center is the Country Club. To it's north a military base, to it's south, the water towers, Supermax and Toxic Waste Disposal. It's flanked by Recycling Centers, Waster to Energy Incinerators and nine fusion power plants. The water supply for this area is cut off from the main town's water, for the express purpose of running the main water line through the Toxic plant first, and then all around through the nasty shit, until finally, the line ends at the Country Club with all that gloriously polluted water. |

Think I'm about a third to half-way through Skyrim but probably going to drop it very soon.
Started losing a lot of interest in wanting to continue due to the game being full of weird quirks, bugs, and questionable design decisions. Like the game's help system in terms of marking go to spots on the map and the magic path power randomly will stop working from time to time. Spent like 2 hours one time on just a quest to find a book because the helpful show path power bugged out. Kept passing the one spot needed to continue without realizing it until I gave up and looked up a video walkthrough for it. Then there were a few other quests where the game lets you start them but conveniently forgets to tell you that you actually need to do other stuff first before the quest actually activates. Spent a good 30 minutes trying to find a certain key before also giving up and finding out the quest isn't meant to be activated yet despite it being on the playable quest list. |

While I think Skyrim is a good game I also find it to be extremely overrated.

I spent a few hundred hours doing nearly everything in Oblivion then found myself to be completely uninterested in running around a bunch of slightly nicer looking ruins and hills for another hundred hours with some dragons

Caught Star Ocean: The Divine Force and Valkyrie Elysium on discount. Starting with Star Ocean. Digging it so far. If you've played SO before you know exactly what to expect. Voice acting is a tad whack but that's par for the genre at this point. Pretty game with some good world design thus far. Think a more grounded in reality version of xenoblade environs. Combat is fast and furious with the new traversal mechanic at play which borrows heavily from the warp function of FF15, but the battles feel kinda uneven. One minute you are wrecking things, the next you've been inexplicably wiped by someone else. Boss battles being the main offender there because they'll drag you face first through hellfire and brimstone not 10 seconds after you one shot the most powerful mob in the dungeon. The bosses would be perfectly acceptable as is honestly; it's the mobs that need to be bumped up a bit.
Also there is a minigame called E'sowa that has some serious promise. Its like a weird combination of chess and triple triad almost. It seems kinda simple at first, and the difficulty on the early opponents is fair. When you beat someone you get a new piece though and you'll quickly notice those new pieces allow you to absolutely crush the early competition. You'll be rolling over everyone like half way through the master ranks. Then you get to that second half of the master ranks (btw master isn't the top, there are at least 2-3 more ranks) and suddenly you'll get destroyed outta nowhere. Somewhere around the first level 5 master probably. They start getting stacked decks as well and a lot of really useful pieces that will tear you apart if you don't plan for them in advance. Really like this little game, nice diversion. Last edited by Sepholio; 04-16-2023 at 08:44 PM. |

One gripe I have, and I'll always have this gripe: Why have a super in depth crafting system if the results are random? No matter how much you level up a particularly craft and all it's associated skills, you still have absolutely no idea what you are gonna get when you start your craft. Sure, certain things become more likely outcomes, but there is never a guarantee or set recipe for anything no matter what. You can't even reliably craft trash items when you need them for quests. Such a dumb flaw for what could have been an absolutely incredible crafting system with all they have there.

Downloaded Horizon: Forbidden West to get ready for the Burning Shores DLC dropping tomorrow.
Exploring Yellowstone in the Frozen Wilds DLC in Zero Dawn was great. Hope Guerrilla hits it out of the park again with L.A. |

fwiw, Star Oceans end game was a letdown compared to prior entries. Yes they had the 2 bonus dungeons, if you can call one of them that, and they had the 2 recurring super bosses. But it was so much easier this time. There is no real grind. You craft some gear that will level your whole party to max in 10 minutes, you should already have the best endgame weapons and armor considering you can craft them before half way through the story if you actually use crafting, and you destroy everything. The bosses can be a bit of a health sponge but they weren't remotely threatening. Almost feels like I could just stand there and tank it all in their face. Was expecting more of a grind and more challenge :/

I just can't bring myself to do it.
I told myself after I finished RE4. I would actually try to finish RE6 since beside Code Veronica it's the only mainline RE Game I haven't finished. |

I'm revisiting Skyrim, focusing on the places I didn't spend too much time exploring the other several times I played the game, 10 years ago.
Kingdom Come Deliverance is on my to-do list; bought it 2-3 years ago and barely touched the game due to various reasons. |

Yakuza like a dragon is addicting but I broke the game due to doing the entire business simulator early on and making way too much money

Trying Redfall since its on gamepass.
It's not terrible or anything, but given the studio's previous efforts, it's very pedestrian. |

If I told you guys there was a F2P Soccer/MOBA mishmash with shockingly attractive character designs that didn't play like complete shit would you believe that?

Used a gift card I got for my birthday to get Town of Light on the Switch. If it ends up being bleh, no skin off my nose as it was basically free.

I actually accomplished what I thought was impossible, for me at least, by actually beating the original 1987 Street Fighter. If I ever touch that thing again, it'll be too soon.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Spent the first couple of days just playing in the tutorial Sky land area and took my first dive into the regular world. First dive off the Temple of Time launch pad area ended up with Link splatting himself on the ground and dying because I didn't pay attention until right near the end to where I was located in the little lake area below. I thought I was far away enough from land to safely fall in water and spent almost the whole time instead looking away at the scenery of the world map while in mid-air. |

Finished Metroid Dread. Fun times.
I'll dip my toe into Season of the Deep for Destiny 2 and report back if it's something fun. But I'm just biding my time until Final Fantasy 16 drops in a few weeks. |
