He’s someone who really found a way to make a place for himself in the industry.

Lol, I remember thinking he was “too old” to put much stock in when he turned heel. That was 11 years ago.

I don't really follow AEW but I know that Page is popular and reportedly good in the ring. Is he charismatic?

There’s something there. He’s not phenomenal, but if he put it all together he could be a big deal. But he seems to have no intention to do that/thinks he’s already there.

He's gonna need to go away for a while, maybe lose the "cowboy" thing and come back as a badass submission machine.

Maybe he can go away on paternity leave and people can just call it “long-term storytelling?”

I read the spoilers for the next two weeks…it doesn’t actually sound half-bad.

Everything seems logical and like it’s leading to a clear program. I haven’t watched in ages, so I can’t speak to the quality of the talent or the matches, but on paper it all tracks.

Tyler Breeze should return to television and help Pretty Deadly. Cue Big E to help out his buds.

Eh, their hand was kind of forced. I haven’t seen much from Indi, but apparently she is horrible in the ring. Roxanne is just green as shit. I think she’s she’s heading towards Elektra Lopez, which is…fine. It’s her first program off the ranks.

Honestly even Cora Jade, her friend turned arch-nemesis would’ve been a better choice. But as things are now, with Roxanne as women’s champ and the rest being a snoozefest, and no Cameron Grimes on the show in forever? Nope
Tuesday nights 8PM-10:08PM (Eastern US time) on USA are not for me right now. |

Everyone Triple H has brought back to the main roster would be better off helping NXT.

NXT is really good at the moment, lotta quality rasslin to be had
it kind of reminds me of ECW? not in the extreme violence sense, but in the crowd energy and the size of the arenas it's taped in. huge chant culture, lots of "you fucked up"s and "let's go ______"s and "holy shit"s, crowd just seems stoked to be there every week something about the smaller setting makes the energy feel bigger than you get in the large raw and smackdown arenas it is obviously a talent farm so the mic and ring work might not always be the best but it's positively overflowing with potential, provides a very cool glimpse of obvious future superstars, and its runtime makes it v easy and watchable dunno, i just have a lot of love for it. its product is flourishing under shawn michaels tbh |

also extremely funny to me at the disproportionate and delightfully petty response from WWE to tony khan moving dynamite to tuesday this week for his birthday
they were like "oh you want to air on tuesday and parade around the fact you have edge and christian together again? cool cool, anyway, here's NXT with paul heyman and cody rhodes and john cena and asuka and rhea ripley and LA knight and finn balor and JD mcdonagh and the undertaker" like at the end of the day the real winners are the audience because competition has always driven WWE to deliver a better product than when it has been an uncontested dominant force but it is still hilarious to see khan flip out every week about WWE and have WWE never acknowledge him directly but just carpet bomb the shit out of his birthday plans |

No Mercy was an easier watch than Fastlane. A lot of the guys who were green 3 years ago are now, frankly, PrettyCool and have progressed past the goobers people used to champion in AEW.

main event was really good. lyra's sell on that manhandle slam was fucking sick but the whole match was v strong and a testament to the calibre of wrestling in the women's division
props to becky for cleanly putting over lyra. none of that charlotte triple threat "i didn't actually get pinned" garbage. becky spent her entire reign elevating younger talent, which is more than can be said for most champions. legend like yeah she won her matches in the lead-up to hand lyra the belt, but a) it gave NXT folks a chance in the spotlight -- and they all performed well to boot -- and b) now that lyra goes back with the belt as the person who beat becky lynch, whoever gets the belt next is the person who beat the person who beat becky lynch, etc. it has a flow-on effect of elevating the credibility and status of the NXT women's championship, and i think it's really laudable that becky has made it her focus, much like cena has with LA knight, to put over other people for their moment rather than try to turn this into an ego-stroke where they refuse to job to nascent talent anyway, good stuff |

I still have a feeling Trick Williams is going to turn heel and feud with Carmelo Hayes. Especially after what happened tonight.

NXT rumored to start touring with the jump to CW. That doesn’t shock me. They were always just waiting out AEW imo.

So I watched NXT this week. If you can get past some pretty hokey acting, um, holy shit.
That main event was fucking insane. Bron Breakker vs. Eddy Thorpe was really good too. Every match worked, I thought. I really like Brooks Jensen and Lexis King. Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes have a Stringer Bell/Avon Barksdale thing going on, where Trick doesn’t realize Melo’s put out the hit. Ooh, Melo’s gonna get that fake heat when he turns. |

I guess I should use the NXT thread for this. Boards are off a lot though, so eh. But anyway. NXT has been a great show the last two weeks.
Ethan Page is like…better MJF. |
