Jim Cornette is the best judge of wrestling in the world today. Months ago he would have gone back and forth between AEW and NXT but now he’s given multiple AEW shows rave reviews while bemoaning having to watch NXT. Seems like it’s official.

Lmaooo he’s not going to address that head on. He projected something to happen that hasn’t happened before and didn’t happen when he predicted it, and he’ll dance around it and try to find a new “a ha!” moment that hasn’t happened yet.
Idk how anyone could argue with Cornette. While I think a lot of his schtick is just that, I also think he’s brutally honest and him looking what AEW has been doing of late is genuine. You can heart the excitement in his voice. Imagine they keep doing well enough to get him to cameo and punch out Dan Lambert for gimmick infringement. |

I dont listen to Cornette hardly ever, but I caught like a 30 second clip where he was making up lyrics to Punk's theme, I got a good chuckle out of him going "Like Mussolllllllini, and Seth Rollllllins"

I'm really hoping that AEW adds a big match for tomorrow night. I think that not capitalizing on last weeks mega show with at least one major star on for this week is a mistake. Give us a Punk vs Hook, Danielson vs Matt or Nick Jackson or even Brandon Cutler. No Mox? No Jericho? AEW has several actual big money draws and they should be using at least one per week.
Also, AEW needs to focus on pushing Malakai Black and Andrade El Idalo. Those two are money and are on the cusp of being considered stars, keep the push going! Get Andrade involved with Mox or Jericho, something major. Malakai and Cody can continue I guess but I'd really like to see Malakai get into it with The Pinnacle if they don't mind to have him get a babyface style spotlight, he wouldn't have to change at all, MJF would just be a great heel thus making Malakai the babyface. Malakai vs PAC also would be incredible. Malakai vs Orange Cassidy/Best Friends could be decent too. But Malakai should go up from Cody so let's just pull the goddamn trigger and have Malakai clean CM Punk's clock with that kick and start the money feud of the year. Punk and Malakai is a dream match for me, Black always reminded me of an evolved version of CM Punk. Let's fn go! YEAH |

shit, we haven't been able to watch the "grand slam" editions of Dynamite/Rampage yet. no one told me a newborn would hinder our TV watching so much.

i enjoyed dark elevation last night. spent at least half of the episode doing promo/interview stuff related to the grand slam shows. the men of the year backstage promo especially stood out.

According to Fightful, Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota is currently interested in hosting a Dynamite show in the future.
For some wrestling historical context, this was the location of WCW's first ever Nitro show that featured Lex Luger's surprise return to the company after spending a few years in WWF.

Starks vs Lockhart was very good on Dark, and I am not really a "workrate" guy. It also told a good story.

They’re not even part of the Noid demo. That’s only rich black people and... giant Indians? I don’t remember. I may be getting my arguments mixed up.

It's really amazing how over the past years we've seen some drop in promo's from territory legends on TV. In WWE we've had Michael Hayes and Mick Foley drop in to set off some really intense promo's. When they get to "that point" where they let off a bomb that just totally blows away the depth of what the modern day superstars talk about.
In AEW we've got some really great promo guys from Jericho and Cody who have delivered some of the best promo's in recent history. Don Callis and Omega who are more than capable, and MJF and CM Punk who are probably the only guys who can approach that level of intensity that someone like Arn, Hayes or Foley brings to a promo. Good shit Arn. Way to make this angle matter because it was going down the drain in some aspects. Not as far as what they've done but where you could see it going. |

I was actually thinking of the period when I watched TNA from roughly 2006-2007 I think.... and I think they probably actually had a better show going on than AEW does right now.... at least I remember being more entertained by the shows and stories on the whole than I am by AEW thus far....
