Damn. I’ve actually heard of one of those guys. Good pull for a rasslin’ movie.
They’ll need very little hair and makeup help to make that first guy look like a Von Erich. Last edited by #1-norm-fan; 09-15-2022 at 07:00 PM. |

When I think of WCW, I think about the main event guys, the cruiserweights, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Buff Bagwell and Disco Inferno. It probably helped that he had pretty distinct airtime on all the tapes of WCW I rented as a kid. But he stood out to me. People act like he did nothing in the business, but that’s kind of how you get the most out of the best spot you can get.

There are mumblings that Warner Bros Discovery might sell to NBC Universal at some point after April 2024. I wonder if/how that would affect WWE and AEW if it were to happen?

I wouldn’t be shocked if Triple H and Nick Khan make plays for the AEW timeslots when the AEW deal is expiring. I don’t know if they go at it with WWE programming, WCW or NXT, but I can see them making a pitch.

Remember when Disco was Cruiserweight Champ but his gimmick was that he kept having to lose weight before the match to make the weight limit. Good times.

There was an episode of Sunday Night Heat where Christian did that. I think he ended up making weight to challenge for the title and then quickly lost because he was too tired from all the exercise to wrestle.

Didn't Matt Hardy do this also? Was obsessed with making weight for weeks on smackdown in 2003 I think.

I don’t think that happens. It might happen one year, but the story is still too raw. I could see Jess McMahon being inducted. Now that people are back and the show is in LA, I think Batista will be happy to headline. Triple H will probably try and smooth over a bunch of broken relationships and put politics aside for inductions — so I can see Demolition going in. I think he’ll reach across the aisle and try and get Regal in. Maybe Mike and Gene LeBell? Victoria for the women. That sort of thing.

Surprised no one has mentioned Bryan Danielson basically announced he's retiring at a Q&A in Vancouver. Said he will never return to WWE and that his current deal with AEW will be the last he ever signs anywhere. It is a 3 year deal and he started last summer so he basically told everyone he is hanging it up in 2 years. Said he wants to spend time being a dad.
Said the reason he won't go back to WWE is not because of anything negative about them or their product but that the way he lives is to always move forward and do new things and that would feel like a step backward to him. The reason he decided to join AEW specifically was because he wants to work in NJPW some and do one more G1. |

Going back to around 2019 or 2020 Danielson was saying his career as a full-time wrestler were coming to an end soon. And at some point after signing with AEW he implied he’d never fully retire but maybe just take special bookings here and there when the time is right.
Who knows. Maybe he does intend on fully calling it a career. He might’ve never wanted to do that but kids change things. So long as he gets to go out on his own terms. |

Cole on SD mentioning PWG just seems so weird. Was talking about Sami Zayns and Ricochet feuding over there back in the day.
Pretty sure Sami Zayn never wrestled in PWG though. His good friend El Generico did, but I don't recall Sami ever being there. What ever happened to El Generico? Wish he would come back. |
