Did anyone else mark out for Jack Swagger as much as I did on RAW? I'm not even American. I've never been particularly itchy for a Swagger face turn either. Good shit.

I would like it if Swagger defeated Rusev at Battleground. Give the guy a face push and see where it goes.

Swagger becomes the first to break out from the accolade and manages to put Rusev into the patriot lock. Lana runs in and causes the dq. Both men are protected.

I dont think having a guy break out of your finisher and being saved by a woman protects Rusev.

Ask them all about their favorite Christian moment, and why Christian isn't a 16 time world champion by now.

They fucked up so badly with the Nexus, and had several opportunities to save it but never managed to do so. Having them lose at SummerSlam in their first "big" match was just a terrible idea...especially the ending where Cena went into full-on Superman mode, was down 2 on 1 against Barrett and Gabriel, got DDTed on the fucking concrete outside, and still shrugged it off with ease and won clean.
Didn't help that they kicked Darren Young out right after SummerSlam when I felt it was too early to drop members even the "weak link", and sure enough Skip Sheffield broke his ankle within a week. How Barrett didn't get a title win during that angle is beyond me. Hell even if you get past all of that they STILL could have saved it had they not totally botched Cena being in Nexus. If they played their cards right Wade Barrett vs. John Cena for Cena's freedom could have been one of the top billed matches on the WrestleMania 27 card, if not the main event itself with Barrett winning the title beforehand. |

Cesaro wasn't scheduled for the match, but Paul Heyman slipped him in as the 31st entrant and he won the thing.

I can forgive the WWE for not putting the WWE Title on Wade Barrett in 2010. I still think that the best booking for Survivor Series '10 with Barrett facing Orton for the WWE Title would have been Cena brutally attacking Wade Barrett. The stipulation was that Cena was referee, and if Barrett lost, Cena would be fired, but the Nexus was banned from ringside. I always said that having Cena attack Barrett, because his morality overwhelms his selfishness, would have made perfect sense. Barrett underestimates his virtues and ends up beaten down without the help of his allies.
Barrett could have then challenged Cena to a match at the December PPV (TLC, but I wish they had used a different name), where he orders the Nexus to stay in the back, because he wants to rip Cena apart himself. Barrett could have won that match cleanly, or won with Nexus aid (he's a heel after all). Build Barrett up for a strong showing in the Royal Rumble, where The Undertaker returns and makes it clear that he doesn't plan to let Barrett and the Nexus get away with burying him. |
