Diesel had been made to look dominant. Diesel rolling over Bret would have hurt Bret WAY more than it hurt Backlund.

You know... just looking at chronology, I guess Survivor Series 1994 was the latest VHS that I had as a kid. I missed all of Deisel's run at the top.
Was probably while he was on the top that I was getting really into watching and rewatching the VHS tapes I had.... and then Mankind/Taker at Summerslam 1996 got me into watching live stuff. |

Diesel's win kicked off a lengthy run of consecutive babyface Champions. Diesel didn't start his turn until after losing the belt to Bret. Bret lost to a babyface Shawn. Shawn lost to a babyface Sid. Sid lost the belt back to a babyface Shawn. Shawn lost his smile and the belt went to Bret, who was in the middle of a heel turn, but wouldn't go full heel for another month. Bret lost the belt to still Babyface Sid, who lost to a babyface Undertaker. Then, at Summerslam 97, heel Bret finally ended the run. Who lost it to a heel Shawn Michaels.
Just a weird 2.5 to 3 years. |

So I was bored. I listened to the Observer radio thing on YouTube about Samoa Joe and MJF, curious to see if it got defended or not. It cuts to Dave’s visual during it. Holy shit. I could not believe it. Anyone who thinks the dude isn’t going through a mid-life crisis needs to check it out.
It’s actually insane. Can someone submit it to Cornette. It needs attention. |

Cody Rhodes is older than Nick Aldis. Something about that doesn’t feel right.

I feel for that old man’s family and/or loved ones. You don’t want a man in his 70s to go like that.

I actually think Piper has more singles wins over Hogan than Hogan over Piper
Hogan never beat Piper in the WWF other than by DQ. They hardly wrestled each other actually. People always talk about their "feud" but it really wasn't much of a feud. Piper beat Hogan a couple times in WCW. Actually, has Hogan ever beaten Piper by pinfall or submission in a singles match? |

Hard to say whether it was to Piper's betterment to never really job to Hogan (even in the instance where he jobbed, he won first lol).
If he did job, would he have just been another villain of the week and not carried the momentum? Then, there's the argument that almost every one of his damned programs had a fuck finish. He just stayed on cruise control, never really moving up the card. I guess he wasn't going to be the top guy with Hogan there, so the holding pattern of "I'm a massive star but stuck in the midcard" was the best option. |

Hogan has claimed that he was always concerned about dropping the title to Piper because there was no guarantee that Piper would return the favor.

In pure wrestling shit housery terms I'm kinda excited for Schrodingers Okada right now. Hes both amazing and shit and which one he will be longterm depends on whether he signs for the company you Stan for.
Him signing back with NJPW feels like the funniest outcome for me. |

Apparently Ken Shamrock is back in the WWE fold? They’re selling merchandise for him or something. He’s a pretty obvious HOF pick post-TKO merger.

Pretty pleased with that. Always one of the weirder “blacklisted” guys given who they’ve had back over the years.

Wonder if Ken Shamrock would "snap" during a HoF acceptance speech. Most certainly he would start "bleeding internally".

I never understood what happened with Shamrock and WWE. There has never been anything about a big blow up or double cross. It is not like Shamrock left for WCW either. He was just gone and never brought back at all.

I know he left to train for some MMA at one point. His Wikipedia seems to reflect that. I know this was the case with D’Lo Brown, but did Shamrock get busted talking to WCW or something? I have vague memories of there being some sort of backstage politics factor involved. Plus he was always a Bret/Rock guy.

Shamrock and his brother are on the outs with UFC, never mentioned. He deserves his shine though he's a good guy.

Then again, Dana hated Tito Ortiz at one point and still inducted him into the HOF. I think Shamrock going into the WWE HOF would be more Triple H doing business without needing Vince's approval. |

Really hoping the Rock return doesn't mean Cody doesn't get too "finish the story" at Wrestlemania now.
Anything but dethroning Reigns kind of feels like a consolation prize. |

If Rock beats Roman for the titles it would be the dumbest decision they could make.

Priest cashes in on The Rock.
Achieves: - Roman being defeated - The Rock not being able to stick around - "fuckery" that will allow Reigns to get right back in the mix - Gives Priest a brag about how he beat The Rock at WM for the title |

I'm down with that.
The mrs and I have started mentally preparing to see Cody (big meh for both of us) win the title in person. What you proposed would be much better for us. |

If they are gonna have multi-day rasslemania, they should make WM day 1 a "tournament" to see who faces Reigns on day 2.
Involve all of his biggest rivals who have been "screwed" and have legit "gripes" with him/Bloodline. Cody Rhodes Sami Zayn Jey Uso Kevin Owens LA Knight Drew McIntyre Randy Orton I guess one more guy needed. AJ Styles I guess. I'd have Sami win, it would be a great way to get him back any semblance of the heat he had last year when he should have won the RR and beat Reigns. |
