Black Widow is being fast tracked for 2020, making it a Phase 4 movie. Interested to see what this means for other dates, or how free Phase 4 was looking (per my theory that Marvel had jack shit for a macro-arc after Infinity War, hence their hastened acquisition of XM and FF).

ABC rumored once again to have cancelled Marvel's Inhumans TV series. ABC hinting the official announcement will be made when the May sweeps list is released.

Also seems ABC had no Plan B when it came to comic-based shows since they have no other comic shows planned for this year.

Inhumans rebooted as this big race in the 616 was Marvel's near ten year contingency against Fox so Marvel Studios can have 'people with powers' in mainstream media. This is also why X-Men (with FF) were getting shafted in books, story arcs, and even merch for years (to this day for FF). X-Men got a resurgence a few years ago with tons of books and with them back home, I guarantee Marvel doesn't care about Inhumans failing as a show. Not anymore. Watch them get thrown back into obscurity in the books, something like Inhumans vs X-Men will not happen again. Like ever.

But they do need a new mainstream MCU show on ABC, not a streaming thing or r-rated thing. Agents may not return (though there's whispers of a chance) leaving a huge gap.

If it was up to me, I'd put FF in that slot. And reignite the #ItsAllConnected thing. Make them really interact with... Everybody.

There are 173 pages in this thread, so I'll apologise now if this has already been addressed.

I was looking on IMDB earlier and saw that there are 7 Marvel movies being released this year:

Black Panther
Avengers: Infinity War
Ant-Man and The Wasp
Untitled Deadpool Sequel
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse
Venom
X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Depending how long the Disney/Fox deal takes means we have at least 5 new MCU movies in 2018.

On the other side of the coin, DC has 2 movies coming out this year:

Teen Titans, Go! - to The Movies
Aquaman

TTG is a kids cartoon (and not a very good one at that) and the common perception of Aquaman is that he is a joke. Sure, Jason Mamoa looks good, but Aquaman doesn't have a good reputation, especially for casual fans.

To make matters worse, Aquaman is coming out 1 week after Spider-Man. Who thought THAT was a good idea?!

DC, this is why you are losing.

Warner Brothers has owned DC Comics since the 1960's. They could have had there cinematic universe up and running 50 years ago.

Marvel started their cinematic universe in 2008, when they didn't have full, if any, control over their big names. That's why they had to start with Iron Man. Disney bought Marvel the following year after Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk had already been out, while Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers had been anounced and were in at least pre-production.

I don't really have a major point here, it just boggles my mind that a company with 2 of the biggest icons in comic books history can't get their act together.

Those colors do kind of fall in line with Kree colors, so it's likely something to do with that and not the main costume.

Potentially has a legally safe move depending on the details of the final deal, the (potentially final) FoX-Men move will NOT have 'X-Men' in the title. Instead going by Dark Phoenix, with the X emphasized in the logo ("Dark Phoeni(x)").

There is a POSSIBILITY that some remnants of FoX-Men other than Deadpool can still continue on, with only certain characters actually being integrated into the MCU (if the deal goes as planned, and even then after 2019-20 at the earliest since Phase 4 is pretty much set).

Spidey's sub-series is being speculated to build up the Sinister Six - who may get a push as big MCU baddies rather than strictly being a Spidey problem. At least ONE source in the wild believes Spidey's corner of the MCU wipl grow as its own sandbox (like the Guardians going more cosmic in Vol3). While I've only seen one ditzy source say this, other regular (and frankly reliable) sources all agree Jessica fucking Drew the Spider-Woman will be introduced in Spidey 2. If this is the case along with the potential for Miles and Gwen (European now) - that one source may be on to something. The current approach to female characters will likely not have Gwen waiting to fall to her death, instead opting for the Spider-Gwen or even Gwenpool inspired versions of the character. The last parts about Gwen is my personal speculation, tho.

On Jessica Drew; word is she'll be her highly deadly agent self. I wonder if she'll be a SHIELD alum. Also basically every source agrees that Mysterio is almost certainly the villain - who's working for a "surprise" baddie. If it's a Sinister Six thing (Oct or Electro), that wouldn't be a surprise at all... though it fits with that one beat about the villain team building up.

But this is taking place in Europe (at least in part), and what villain is across the Atlantic that would make us lose our shit..?

Anyway this next phase is the first with neither Cap, Iron Man, or Thor movie. That's not to say it won't happen.

On the TV front Daredevil S3 wrapped, Punisher S2 is filming now, Luck Cage is coming next, and wouldn't you know - Kristen Ritter ALSO thinks Jones was a drag and wants her to lighten up. Seems some of us weren't crazy after all.

Agents of SHIELD, by the grace of god, lives on for a 6th season. It'll be a mini-season has officially reported and will premier nearly a year from NOW rather than the Fall. Word is they kinda have to address not only their finale, but the Snappening as well.

Kevin Fiege and the Russos have IN FACT seriously considered Luke Cage lending a hand in the New York battle in Infinity War. But a short cameo wouldn't satisfy fans (their words) nor do they want the general audience to feel like the Netflix heroes are requisite viewing.

The Silver Sable/Black Cat movie is shelved for now. Sony wants to rewrite it. I'm gonna call it canceled.
