Watched all the Saw films recently. I'd seen the first one when it first came out and I remember thinking it wasn't too bad. Wasn't awestruck by the series or anything but it wasn't as terrible as I've always heard it made out to be. Probably better than most other horror series' since it's actually got some solid continuity throughout.
A lot of pointless gore and some terrible acting though. The last one especially. Feel like the story on the whole could've made a solid tv series. |

Indie Game: 7.5/10
the two guys who created Super Meat Boy were cool, but the other two guys who created Fez and Braid were typical hipster douchebags. Decent documentary though. |

Monsters University 3/5
It was a good movie but to me just seemed to try a little hard into getting laughs and the storyline seemed a little rushed to me. White House Down 2/5 entertaining action movie but thats about it. Not much of background on any characters other then some one liners that they mention in passing conversation |

Prisoners - really good. Was gripped in the story from start to finish. Might be Jackman at his utmost best.
The Mist - Probably as good of a stuff jumping on people film as you can get. Limitless - was alright, decent enough watch but it didn't seem to fulfil its potential. Story seemed to just drop off about two thirds through Cowboys and Aliens - found it really boring which I was surprised about. Was expecting to really enjoy it even if it was just a fun action film, but it just all felt really flat. Taken 2 - it was aight, nothing special though. Didn't really add anything to the first one. Completely forgettable really. |

Oh yeah, saw that recently, too and even though I usually enjoy thoughtless action flicks this kinda sucked. Harrison Ford would be better off retiring than starring in movies like that.

Just watched The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition. I enjoyed all of the LotR Extended Editions (even if they made it freaking long), but The Hobbit Extended Edition really added nothing of value. Perhaps because of the fact that they have already extended one book into three movies. In fact, some of the stuff they added just served to break up the "flow" of the movie. I think maybe only some of the stuff in Rivendell was worth the re-add.
I think the theatrical edition is better, on the whole. |

LOTR: The Return of the King - 10/10
After completing the LOTR series, I am psyched for the release of the second Hobbit movie. I must add that I did not enjoy the first one. Has anyone watched the extended version? |

Wasn't much in the way of plot. Was sure it wouldn't "get" me but I'd be lying if I said I didn't shed a tear. Insidious: 5/10 Kinda lost me with the astral projection. |

Disconnect - Not too shabby film about social networking and how detrimental it can be. Has some pretty sad moments, overall it's worth a watch.
Kill List - I really liked it, but can def see how it can be very polarizing. The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover - Pretty good. Quite slow at times which made it feel like it was dragging on a bit, but a decent enough watch. Use of colour was sweet. The Hunt - Brilliant. Really hard to watch at times but couldn't take my eyes off it. Really "gripping". I highly recommend it. This is The End - Okay. Get's that much just for James Franco. Don't really remember it making me laugh |

Watched The Life of Pi last night.
It was quite good. Not the cinematic masterpiece people claim it to be. Can see how it would have looked amazing at the cinema though as opposed to just on my TV. 7/10 |

Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa - Best comedy I've seen in years. Laughing throughout, even at the cheap "Guy with no pants on" toilet humour that I usually just cringe at. Coogan had all the tried and tested nuances down and it worked brilliantly in a longer story. Gonna have to go back and watch all the shows again now.

Ender's Game 7/10. Felt like I was watching a teen kiddie version of Full Metal Jacket minus Gunnery Hartman in his tirade swearing in the 1st half and a bit of Hunger Games-ish in the 2nd half.
