The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - pass
A dangerous movie for a fella like me to get consumed with. Fortunately, there were only a few heartwarming and relatable scenes and too many. It was well shot. I liked it. |

Edge of Tomorrow: 9/10 really loved it, not a giant Tom Cruise fan "in general" but thought ht was great in this role
Pacific Rim: 5/10 idk just did not have a feel for this movie at all, think watching it right after EoT bored me of it. may rewatch again in future and re-evaluate... |

Transformers: Age of Extinction 7/10. For some reason, I can live without Shia's annoying presence here.

RoboCop-7/10
Not a bad remake. Seemed to be more Gary Oldman's movie than the guy playing Murphy. Lacked a compelling villian. Lots of underdeveloped characters. However, enjoyed the look and style of the film. Sound design was great. Theme of Robo keeping/fighting for his humanity and becoming sentient despite his programming was a nice angel. Surprised by the critical reception. Solid sci fi action thriller. Justice League Flashpoint-8/10 Pretty good direct to DVD animated fim, dealing with an alternate universe created by the Flash, who is the main character in this one. Thomas Wayne Batman is a complete bad ass, and the different roles the characters were cast in was a fun take. |

Captain Phillips - solid film, starts really well but thought the second half was a bit "eh" and I wasn't really affected by much that went on. Thought Hanks was best at the very end when he was just shaking with shock and fear.
Veronica Decides to Die - Sarah Michelle Gellar suffers from depression so tries to take her life. Survives, but in the process causes herself to have a fatal injury which she'll die of within weeks anyway. She then begins to see the good things in life and falls in love etc etc. Okay enough commentary on depression for the first 45 minutes or so, but after she begins wanting to live it all seems a bit rushed and convenient. Rest of the cast was really bad. |

Extract - 8/10
Thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Mila Kunis was very convincing as a con artist. Jason motherfucking Bateman was pretty good. Batman was a good wingman (*click* or not). |

And SPOILER: show This movie felt like a very serious yet watered down version of Natasha Henstridge's Species franchise. But still, I really enjoyed her fully naked scenes esp touching herself to experience what it feels to be human. As for this one, I give it 6/10.. I thought it was going to be another one of those teen angst drama movies but they threw into a World War 3 apocalypse scenario. The only plot twist you'll see here: SPOILER: show Insidious Chapter 2: 4/10. Why? the 1st one had definitely a closure ending to it.. Very unnecessary sequel to continue with the hauntings. Under the skin - loved it. Austere and surreal with long periods of silence, my type of movie. Glasgow looks cool too. 9/10
We are the Best! -Lukas Moodysson's first good movie in a long time. The actresses were all really good. Just a really cute movie. 8/10 |

Locke - good movie, Tom Hardy drives to London and speaks with a cool Welsh accent as his life falls apart.

In A Dark Place - 6/10. The ending had me just go "That was it?!?!" I read some interesting IMDB reaction spoilers and I think I'm gonna go with the
SPOILER: show And to some, it felt like a reboot of the 1961 classic, The Innocents. P.S. WHAT THE FUCK happened to Leelee Sobieski? (used to be my celeb crush in high school and pre college days) All I know is she's preggie with a 2nd child and hasn't done movies since then.. And she looks like an anorexic Jennifer Lawrence now. O__o. Nymphomaniac Vol. 2 - 8/10. Haven't seen the first one though but interesting stuff about sexuality and religious teachings message behind this. lars has done it again.. oh, and BONER level 9000 alert! Yet some scenes are like mini-porno videos. And when that familiar music came on in one scene with the baby looking out the window, I was like, "Is this supposed to be a sequel to the Anti-Christ?" And Willem Defoe came out of nowhere, I was expecting another deja vu moment with the woman who also played as his wife in Anti-Christ. Hehe. |

Dunno. Was definitely an ok movie.... just dunno.... feel like it was "trying too hard" to be "different" or "art" or something, if that makes sense. |

Yeah I got the same impression from it. It seemed like Wes Anderson was trying to be a bit too Wes Anderson for my liking.

Pretty damn good for a Korean made film with some American starpower. It's on a limited screen release, so if it's anywhere in your area and you feel like a drive, go for it. |
