How is any of that not a good faith discussion? I genuinely don’t think what you thought we were discussing is what I was trying to discuss and agreed with that.

Austin Theory is a bigger star than just about anyone in AEW right now. Both in terms of how well known he is (due to WWE’s audience) and how featured he is on his programming (“Moose stars in Impact Wrestling”). I’d argue more people are tuning in to see what happens next with Austin Theory than are paying vivid attention to AEW.

Being featured in the more popular show is going to be more culturally relevant than the entire universe of a tiny one revolving around you (like it does anyone down there anyway). I didn’t pivot from anything. I said it then and I’ll say it now: Austin Theory is a bigger star in wrestling than Adam Page.

Interesting. I haven’t seen the segment and I’m not too familiar with Taz’s views on wrestling (isn’t he a bit of a conspiracy theorist), so I’m trying to imagine it and just can’t.

Thunder Rosa was either asked about or brought up the Brock Lesnar dancing to a mariachi band segment on SmackDown and said it “mocked her culture” or something. I don’t know her tone on it, but basically she got a ton of responses basically making fun of her because that was kinda the point of Brock being a dick to Eddie Guerrero.

Doesn’t really count as a “meltdown” maybe, but just a wrestler saying stupid things.

No, you missed the point entirely. They celebrate everything LIKE they are beating WWE. How does doing better than any other wrestling company NOT WWE matter at all? They could have just said they had their best gate, but is just being successful not fun enough? I've been in a LULL with AEW since Revolution. I have a big bone to pick about their booking of Hangman. Think back to when Austin was running hot. Almost every episode was built around him. He'd start the show with a segment, there would be backstage stuff and then eventually he'd have his match or interfere in the main event. He was the through line to the show.

Hangman is lucky to get one segment a week and it's always with Adam Cole. Adam Cole is not a fucking main guy, this has to stop. Adam Cole is not going to bring fans to the product. He's a good wrestler and promo yes but he look's like a fucking shrunken man, this is ridiculous. Almost all of the main stories are more compelling than the Champions story and I am sick of it!

Its been mentioned on various podcasts that the formatting of aew's shows is terrible. As you said, instead of building each episode around a top talent story thread, they're taking time away from said talent to make sure as many undercard guys get a paycheck for the night as possible.

That's very generous of them, but generosity doesnt make for a good show.

I would argue that cole, as a scheming asshole who uses redragon's help to win, could be a top heel talent. Its just unbeleivable in this case because up til now hes been booked like a loser

We have a very different perspective of what was going on. I was not interested in discussing the semantics of what a star is, which is an admittedly subjective term. I think it measures prominence. Austin Theory is a bigger star than Adam Page. Anyone regularly featured on WWE television is. Because they are prominent on a show that is consumed by more people domestically and worldwide.
