Just watched His Dark Materials. I like it. Didnt realize it was a reboot of The Golden Compass when I started but Ibalways thought they should have kept that series going so this is good.

It's not a reboot of "The Golden Compass".
"The Golden Compass" is an unfaithful adaptation of one book in the trilogy known as "His Dark Materials". |

I'm coming to the end of my re-watch of The Shield; into the final few episodes and it is all coming apart for Vic and Shane. It was such a great show.
I am on to the final episode of season 5 The Expanse; it has been a much stronger showing this time round than season 4. I liked season 4, but it was smaller in scale and more interested in setting up the pieces for the current season rather than anything else. I was thinking of pulling out my Deadwood boxsets and re-watching them before viewing the "film" that came out a couple of years ago. |

Walker reboot although it's nowhere near what i expected. The Masked Dancer, spin-off of The real champion; Masked Singer. Also shows like Big Bang Theory. Family Matters on TV1 saved by the bell on E and IFC and other shows i can't remember.

Remember when she tried to hug Jerry Seinfeld and he laughed in her face and said no?
That was very satisfying for me. |

He did not laugh in her face. He was unaware of who she was and did not want his boundaries to be violated like that

We’re now watching the Good Place and it’s pretty good! But I was told it was pretty great. But it’s not bad! And it might get better! Still in season 1 and definitely planning to watch more.

I watched it a bit but it had hallmarks of a show that regresses rather than progresses.
I can't sign up for seasons of dithering around. |

Finished season 5 of The Expanse; enjoyed it as always, and I look forward to the final season at the end of this year/start of 2022.
I'm three episodes into the first season of The Outpost; it is naff, but I will continue to watch it because the lead woman is so ridiculously attractive. I have also watched the first two episodes of The Night Manager; it seems pretty decent for a BBC drama. |

I found the charm of the novelty/whimsy kinda wore off for me after season 1.

Season 1 of The Watch wrapped up on BBC America. Not bad. Left things on a cliffhanger.
Think I'm going to jump into Netflix and start watching Lupin. |

I've finished The Night Manager. I don't tend to like BBC dramas, but it was a solid "espionage" series. Tom Hiddleston's easy charm carries the series, along with good performances by Hugh Laurie and Olivia Coleman.
I have also finished the first season of The Outpost and I have started the second one. If you like fantasy-based programmes, I think you will like it; plus, the lead woman is a smokeshow. It feels a bit naff at first, but stick with it whilst it finds its footing. I recently finished season 5 of my re-watch of Scrubs. I think this was the first season where there was a definite drop in quality, and a general sense of fatigue in the show. Perhaps it rebounds in season 6, but it is sometime since I watched that season. I'll probably save seasons 6-8 (season 9 can fuck off) for my 14-day self-isolation at the end of March, when I relocate for my new job. |

A TV channel over here in the UK has been reshowing Malcolm in the Middle; I'd forgotten how good it was, particularly the early seasons.

i was really reluctant to get another streaming service but a friend of mine kept going on about ted lasso so i took the plunge and i gotta say, it was worth. great show, binged the heck out of it
so while i was at it i also churned through mythic quest, which was also excellent, and am currently making my way through central park, which is a good time but for sure more niche in appeal than the other shows. but i like me a good musical comedy so i am on board otherwise, wandavision is the weekly appointment atm. been catching up on barry also, as i fell behind a bit all of these shows are Very GoodTM |

I'm half-way through the first season of Raised by Wolves; a superior sci-fi series. Check it out. The only person I recognize in it is the chap who played Ragnar Lodbrok in Vikings.

There is only one badly played character in this show and it's Vic's wife.
Her acting is atrocious. Genuinely bad. |

Vic walking into a hospital waiting room with his jacket zipped up to cover his bullet in the guts from his children after not seeing them for months...that is fucking high level.
You can't fuck with Vic. |

It is a very well paced show. The dialogue is hokey as shit and the acting can be a bit gamey but overall it hits the emotional spots so perfectly that you have to give it credit.
The dialogue is so on the nose that it becomes an exercise at times but it is good. |

I've finished the first season of Raised by Wolves. If you like sci-fi with a trippy edge to it, you'll like it a lot.
I'm going to have to go back to watching the second season of The Outpost, which is going to feel rather inadequate in comparison. |

Turns out the one bad actor in The Shield is married to the show's fucking creator. What an arsehole, she is awful. |

I think I may have suggested this to you before, but just in case I haven't, I think you'd like the 1980s TV adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisited, with Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews. I watch that series once a year; I'm about due to watch it again.
