I don't know that there is a big match for Suzuki on FORBIDDEN DOOR.... maybe MJF? That could be fun.

Also, just want to point that AEW has added a PPV to the list. I wonder if it will be an annual event?

Since we are early on page 230, a new point of discussion!
Opinion - Britt Baker should have never been uncrowned as champion! Britt Baker losing the AEW Women's Championship is a huge deflation to that title! Even though a lot of people cheer for Thunder Rosa, she isn't charismatic enough to carry the main title as well as Britt Baker! If they had better challengers for Baker, she could have been a very successful long term champion in the same way that Roman is for WWE. I think that AEW has some potential stars in their women's locker room but Baker is the only absolute star currently. Now, it's fine for her that she's doing the Owen tournament, and likely headed in Jade Cargill's direction, but it's obvious if she takes that belt, that the TBS Championship will be the top belt in the company for women. In my opinion the only person other than Baker that should have the belt around their waste is Shida, and she has a huge deflation in momentum but being a very long term champion herself, and a great worker and decent character she meets my qualifications to carry the big one. But only those two. Everyone else in the ladies room at AEW need a bit of rounding out to get to any real star level. Baker has the fans in the palm of her hand and Shida is beloved by the AEW faithful. If AEW builds to Jade and DMD, it will certainly turn Britt babyface. I'd like to see DMD lose her first bout with Jade, thus building Jade even more before eventually getting her comeuppance. I really wish AEW had Jordynne Grace though, that's the one they really need IMO. |

You mentioned MJF. I’d have MJF talk shit about New Japan heading into the show. Christian Cage ends up vacating his AEW spot in the aforementioned Rumble to team with The Gunn Club. This allows MJF to worm into the Rumble. He can eliminate one or two guys (Toru Yano and Togi Makabe maybe?), but then he gets the shit beaten out of him by Yuji Nagata and tossed. |

The problem for Britt is she ran out of faces to beat, Rosa included. She did everything there was to do as champ and the run in dirty finishes ran their course. Refresh the belt with someone new until hopefully Serena Deeb is positioned to be the next heel.
Heel Deeb v Baker would be a fun Peruvian so long as Britt is the same character, just going against heels. Britt also likely has a breakup feud with Hayder coming up at some point. |

I hate the idea of Dax vs Cash because I feel like they should be viewed as equal as possible and neither man should best the other but also I have a rasslin’ boner. #hrny

i have to clarify here and say that i actually do like qt marshall as a heel on dark. he's very good at that role, and working the crowd in an "old school" kinda way as a heel. it was more suzuki being on dark that didn't make sense to me.

Funny thing is Dark Elevation matches aren't really announced to the live crowd in advance. Feel like Suzuki's theme hitting while I was sitting there would've been a "mark out" moment since I wouldn't have been expecting him there.

Actually didn't mind seeing Suzuki torture QT. Nice that he at least got a win in an AEW ring after he was really just brought to TV the last few times to put over prominent AEW acts.

Actually it's not terribly different from how Suzuki is booked in NJPW. He always feels like a threat despite the fact that he rarely ever beats anybody important in singles matches.
It's something to be said about his presence. |

A further reflection on the terrible booking of AEW. Suzuki sucks now tho, so it’s ok.

Only reason it makes sense to even do Dark or Elevation is for a future library. No one wants to watch it now.

I understand why people enjoy the quick paced matches and freshness of the product, but Tony Khan is a terrible booker and an egomaniac who insists on doing far too much when he knows nothing about it.
CM Punk randomly wrestling nobodies with meandering promos sucking all the life out of a massive return. Malakai Black’s incredible debut and presentation…to where he is now. Danielson in some shit stable that has nothing to do with his character. He will be the one who sinks the company eventually. |

I bet money Vince would take Punk back in a heartbeat and push him. Punk likely gets pushed straight to the top of the card in any wrestling promotion he decides to go to.

Yeah pretty much everybody thinking they're dunking on Punk would be sucking his dick if he went back to the fed.

A lot of people who dunk on him could simply not achieve what he has either.

He was more than good enough for Vince McMahon to give him huge matches with Lesnar, Taker at Mania and back to back ppv title matches with the Rock. Either Vince is an idiot, which I highly doubt, or maybe Punk is actually pretty good even if he’s not the most athletic or physically appealing guy to ever get as far as he did.
