Where is this documented? Honestly don’t remember seeing any actual stories about this outside speculation treated as fact by the usual anti-AEW cultists who will run with anything whether it’s true or not.

Thanks for posting 12 links all referencing a report from one source to make it look better. Genuinely forgot that though.
Pretty sure Punk has also talked about talking to WWE at their behest months prior to this but ultimately not liking what they had to say. His agent then reaching out months later and Vince being like “Fuck it. Can’t work with him.” isn’t really the “gotcha” you (and soon Derpfect) think it is. Of course you’ll say Punk’s lying and Meltzer knows all until he doesn’t when he says something that doesn’t fit your narrative. No end in sight here. Maybe we can discuss this all on that podcast RTD has suggested and screech has agreed to help produce. I understand your hesitation because it will require you to have original thoughts not supplied by your Circle Jerk/Smart People Forum but I’m down! |

I can also try to explain that whole 2020/2022 dilemma you’re having via spoken word since your reading comprehension seems to be a big road block when I try to type it out for you.

Its been a while, but Kenny Omega with another classic AEW Twitter Meltdown LOL
https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/20...dom-wrestlers/ Exactly how you want an exec to act, freaking out because Disco Inferno doesn't like Stardom |

The funny thing is, that even though the spot Disco referenced was a dumb comedy spot, it was still executed more smoothly than most womens wrestling in the states, outside of what you see from the handful of top talent each promotion has.
That said, Stardom doesnt need Omega to go on a rant for them. At the very least he could have posted his own clips of stardom being good ( of which there are many), instead of just attacking disco like moody teenager. |

Riho doesnt come from Stardom. Shes from the shitty promotion that holds events in apartments.
Thats why she sucks. |

Also, yes, Stardom is probably the best overall product in womens wrestling, but Meltzer is an asshole for stating it plainly with no context.
Because while it is superior, its completely unfair to compare it to western promotions for a number of reasons. |

Even though he had high profile matches, he was never the guy. During his lengthy title reign he was playing second fiddle to Cena vs Johnny Ace. He was never the main event. People complain but the fact remains that Cena vs Rock II had more appeal than a watered down triple threat with Punk to appease internet marks. |

I was just thinking about how superior a wrestler Bryan Danielson is compared to CM Punk. They're not even in the same league. Even in WWE, he was overshadowed by superstars like John Cena who is arguably a better fit and representative for the company.

Punk's DVD should be a mandatory watch for wrestling students on what not to do in the industry. I cannot get behind a person after watching that. No thanks.

But he was good enough to give the Rock, Taker, Cena and Lesnar some of their best matches of their careers? It can’t be both, guy.

You don’t advocate working hard, getting better at your craft, making a name for yourself, standing up for yourself and your beliefs, grind yourself to the top of the card, walking away when you weren’t happy and then coming back for a huge pay day abs being happy again? Very odd take.

As a recently outed follower of thuganomics, I can honestly say Cena vs Punk from MITB was probably Cena’s best match.

John Cena has had great matches with all the wrestlers you've mentioned. Doesn't make him a great in-ring competitor. I'd argue Cena's better at in-ring storytelling when compared to Punk. |

Punk came across as a very jealous and bitter individual in the DVD. He belittled Miz who paid his dues and overcame the toxic work culture to main event WrestleMania before him. He was arguably a bigger superstar than him at the time. Besides that, his view points on people who don't have tattoos and shunning the use of modern medicine while recovering from a concussion were asinine. Not to mention he was gloating about it too. Also he thought fried chicken was a good source of protein. |

Now though, bro Tony gives him the creative freedom to really show off his amazing wrestling character! With that freedom Punk TOTALLY overhauled his wrestling character, getting to do all the things he wants like having the same music and tshirt and moveset that WWE NEVER let him do, because again, FEDBAD DUBGOOD!!!!!!! |

Meltzer’s take on quality wrestling is the fucking shits. Omega fucking sucks and I’ll take Disco Inferno any day. More people watched and cared about a Disco Inferno “enhancement” match than have ever given a flying fuck about Omega vs. Okada. Fact. I don’t think I’ve seen anything as overrated in wrestling as modern Japanese wrestling. |

Why would Vince not want to take back a whiny malcontent who bitched about working with The Rock, being champion for over a year, and couldn’t understand why Vince McMahon wouldn’t let him plaster Y2Stacker logos all over his gear. The same whiny malcontent that butted heads with his son-in-law, management and slandered his medical staff. A malcontent who went to the UFC and embarrassed himself. The same malcontent who was a single PPV buyrate in wrestling despite the push. Someone who didn’t get why it was important for the champion to be doing the PR appearances John Cena was.
How could Vince McMahon say no to bringing that guy back and putting him over your already established and largely grateful roster? |
