"The costume is a flag, but the way we're getting around that is we have Steve Rogers forced into the USO circuit," Johnston said. "After he's made into this super-soldier, they decide they can't send him into combat and risk him getting killed. He's the only one and they can't make more. So they say, 'You're going to be in this USO show' and they give him a flag suit. He can't wait to get out of it."
He added that "When he does go AWOL, he covers up the suit but then, after a few things happen, he realizes that this uniform allows him to lead. By then, he's become a star in the public mind and a symbol. The guys get behind him because he embodies something special." Which leads to a new costume: "In the first USO sequences, the frustrated patriot will be wearing a version that is closer to the classic Jack Kirby-designed costume, but then later as the super-soldier hits the war zone he will be wearing a sturdier, more muted version that he makes himself that is more like battle togs. The stripes across his mid-section, for instance, will be straps, not colored fabric." |

The director talking about how they'll explain Captain America's... colorful pride.

I'm sure they'll go for the darker look too. Same basic scheme, but the blues and red will be much darker. Navy blue and darker red.
Just like they did with Spidey |

I thought for a moment they'd simply give him the current suit Bucky's wearing to make him 'hip', but it's cool that they're staying classic and explaining it. It may end up looking like the Ultimate version anyway (a reasonable variation).
Although if there's anything the Superman Returns and Spider-Man movies revealed to me, it's that people don't really question the logic behind the brighter stuff. I guess they're well aware what they paid to see. Still it's best to tackle in some sense, be it some justification (Superman's suit is the rocket ship's inner fabric), humor (X-Men's "yellow spandex" line), or straight logic (Batman Begins). |

I was sort of skeptical about the choice of Joe Johnston, but I'm warming up to it. The stigma of Jurassic Park 3 is strong, but he has made some fun films otherwise. He seems like a cool dude
Pumped to see The Wolfman too. If that's really good I'll feel much better about the choice. |

Yeah but Superman and Spider-man have the most iconic costumes in all of comics. When you think comics, even if you don't read them, you think superman and spider-man. Nobody questions using the bright stuff in live action, because thats what everyone expects. |

Hopefully they don't change Captain America's costume TOO much because it too is iconic in my opinion.

Regency is developing a new Daredevil film, according to Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood. David Scarpa (The Day the Earth Stood Still) is writing the script, according to the report.
The first Daredevil movie was released in 2003 and starred Ben Affleck in the title role with Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Colin Farrell as Bullseye and the pre-Iron Man Jon Favreau as Foggy Nelson. It did $102 million in U.S. box office. |

Cool. I really liked Daredevil, VERY underrated film. It was loyal to the source material and generally well acted by everyone. Hopefully this will be a sequel rather than a reboot. Even if it doesn't have Ben Afflect in it.

After seeing The Dark Knight I was thinking a Daredevil film, thematically, should have a similar tone.

I don't know why it gets so much crap like it does. Daredevil wasn't that bad a movie. Electra was crap. And really I think the only real gripe that everyone had was Kingpin being black. But really...it was a good casting decision I thought. I dunno.

Michael Clarke Duncan did a great job as Kingpin.
Everyone was well cast in that film. Ben Affleck seems to get a loada shit all the time, but I thought he did a great job as Matt Murdock. |

Sony has announced that its reboot of Spider-Man (see “Columbia to Reboot Spider-Man”) will be produced in 3D for release on July 3, 2012, according to the Hollywood trades. Once the studio moved off its May 2011 dates and committed to a new director and cast, it was just a question of when a new script would be agreed upon and production scheduled.
A script by James Vanderbilt, based on Bendis’ and Bagley’s Ultimate Spider-Man story of the high school Peter Parker, is planned as the basis of the new production (see “Ultimate Spider-Man Inspires New Film”). The 3D announcement is undoubtedly one of many more that will be made in the wake of the $2 billion+ Avatar juggernaut. |

So... do I have to watch it in 3D when it comes out? Would there be a non-3D option?

There was only 8 years between Batman & Robin and Batman Begins. That was plenty of time. If this ends up coming out in 2012, that's a difference of 5 years. Maybe by then people will be ready. Still, it feels like those few years make a difference. I dunno, perhaps production will get held up a bit. That seems to always be the case with superhero movies anyways. In any event, I'm over it. I'm sure everyone will be ready to go give another Spiderman movie a chance by then. In fact, I think 99% of the people complaining would go see it tomorrow if given the chance. I know I would |

The gray bits seem out of place and the neck is too bulky, but the torso looks better and the triangular chest owns. Uni Beam, bitches.

So they're going to try do shoot a Spiderman movie in 3D on 80 million dollars. They're going for the sure-thing profit, but it doesn't look good for the quality of the film.
