Beyond The Curve - 7/10 (Netflix)
An interesting documentary about the most notable people behind the Flat Earth movement. It hints at Patricia Steere being independtly wealthy but never explains where the wealth comes from. Gets into the psychology of why people (likely) believe the Earth is flat - and why they won't ever (likely) change their mind, with interviews from scientists. Mark Sargeant comes across as a loveable everyman. AJ Styles being interrogated by Daniel Bryan for thinking the Earth is flat on SmackDownLIVE makes a brief appearance. |

I'm no big Mission Impossible fan but the new one has a fight scene in it that is easily one of the most exciting, fun and cool things I have seen in a movie for a long time.
It was like The Raid 2: Berandal but all they had were five minutes in the toilet. Top action! |

Fighting With My Family - 4.5/5. It was good, and didn't treat wrestling as dumb or anything, and didn't treat people who may be non fans as an outsider or whatever.

Captain Marvel was underwhelming. The mid credit scene was good.

Captain Marvel - 8/10
It's much funnier than the previews would lead you to believe. Brie Larson is good, she and Samuel L Jackson have terrific chemistry. GOOSE is a scene stealer. Talos is a good villain. Marie/Carol the 'emotional heart' of the film. As a Marvel movie, I'd put it somewhere in the middle of the pack. |

Wonder Woman is a good film but people are having a laugh if they think it's anything more than a superhero movie about a stupendously fuckable broad.
It's nothing new. |

The movie was trying to do way too much. The protagonist was not at all sympathetic and shows no vulnerability at all. Brie’s portrayal was disappointing considering what she’s capable of. By Marvel standards, it was ridiculously bland at best. The way they handled her amnesia, past life and relationships was also subpar. There are some “cool spots” here and there but overall, it was a major letdown.

I think it's apples and oranges to WW tbh
Wondy is a much more emotional film and totally different. And yes, WW is a much better movie. I wouldn't say Carol is 'not vulnerable' in this film, I'd say she was given about the same treatment as Tony Stark in IM 1. She's a smart-ass who has some chops, whose biggest adversary is really internal. |

7.5/10 for Captain Marvel. The first half was as much of a cookie cutter Marvel movie as you can get. The second he really stepped it up and threw in some good curveballs. |

Raiders of the Lost Ark - 94%
First time watching an Indiana Jones movie. Very good. A lot of fun. Disappointed that Karen Allen didn’t have a bigger movie career because she was probably my favorite part of the movie. |

Not to sound like a girl (Guru Dave), but Emma Thompson is enchanting in it, and I can see why she won an Oscar for her performance. Last edited by El Vaquero de Infierno; 03-10-2019 at 05:34 PM. |

Karen Allen was the quintessential attainable girl next door type. I can only name this and Scrooged off the top of my head as films she starred in though. Hmmm |

Manson Family Vacation - 4/4
This is so brilliantly written that I only knew fully what it was about when it ended. For a steadily paced film with no great tricks or flash that puts a lot of value in the script. That the two lead performances were up to the standard of the writing says a lot about the actors themselves. Jay Duplass is as solid an actor as you'll find but he brings a lot to this one. It's easy to highlight Linas Phillips as the stand out but I think the subtlety of Jay's performance brings out the very best and most likeable version of the character Phillips is playing. The best way I can say it is that the film is as open and honest as the relationship between the lead characters, which is to say that the truth comes out in the end... not a moment before. I think the ending itself serves as a way to hurl perspective into a situation which none of us would be prepared for, and it does so in a split second through a fence with a look that hit me for six. I should say it's not a big fiery twist ending or anything, this is an almost purely emotionally driven film and the situation is a strange familial one, certainly not a strangely familiar one... |

Fighting With My Family - 7.5/10 - The best WWE Films production since See No Evil.
Captain Marvel - 8/10 - Enjoyed it, but despite not ever having read the comics, I found it fairly predictable.... Lots of good action and humor as always and set up the next movie in April quite well.... |

Captain Marvel - 3.75/5
It was good. But, Brie Larson. Just didn't fit with me as Marvel's tough bitch Carol Danvers. I kept thinking back to Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road and nobody could play that role than her. |

Linas Phillips in Rainbow Time gives the best performance of a developmentally challenged adult that I have ever seen.
It's a strange film, absolutely brilliant in terms of awkward tension and frustratingly honest in it's depiction of a man who can be very difficult to live with. The laughs are truthful and again, honest. It is a story with it's heart right up in front and it asks nothing more than patience and understanding. This is a laugh out loud film and it's as forthright as any film I can remember seeing. It pulls no punches and actually embraces the aspects of character that other film makers may balk at when offered the script. The plaudits belong to Linas Phillips for this little masterpiece. This is how you make independent films. |

Captain Marvel-7/10
It was good from an entertainment standpoint. But it's forgettable. That friendship angle and the emotion they tried to tie it to felt really tracked on and cheesy. It just didn't land. And honestly, neither did Marvel. Larson was good at times but I don't feel we really watched her character grow. The villains and their plot were also meh. Extremely uninteresting and just kinda there. Overall, I enjoyed it as passable entertainment but it falls short of the best Marvel films and isn't anything memorable or groundbreaking. |
