The Predator - 2/4
There are beats in this that are crass and out of place, there are moments where proven performers are used poorly and to their own detriment as well as that of the film. But... it's not the pile of shit that it was made out to be. There are some good hard laughs, some glimpses of an interesting story behind the stupidity of this particular plot and the performances are good enough to provide some real entertainment. The film begins better than it ends, in fact it would be entirely possible to forget the last third of this mere moments after it is over. I'm already struggling to remember how various people came and went... Overall it is a mediocre installment in a mediocre franchise. Predator 2 is the real highlight for me, so having that in mind you can see why the corny shit in this is more attractive to me than the overlong CGI fighting. Furthermore Sterling K Brown and Boyd Holbrook deserved a hell of a lot better than what they got here but Boyd helped keep it from losing my interest entirely. Jacob Tremblay should not have been in this. He has regressed rather badly as an actor and I can't see him making it if he keeps hurting his brand with roles like that. |

Venom - 3/4
This was friggin' hilarious and provides plentiful evidence that Tom Hardy could have many creative outings in comedy films if he truly wanted to. I hope he does, another string to his impressively strung bow. The story was fine, the CGI was impressive and it was well paced. A quiet first third then increasing amounts of crazy until the end. Michelle Williams took me out of it a few times because honestly - it should have been her not Heath in that casket, but whatever. I suppose she has value to the same fuck heads that thought Rene Zellweger was talented. That's her act now, ripping off late 90's Rene Z with that stupid voice and face and... Dargh... Anyway everything else was solid, it just wasn't groundbreaking or hugely exciting. The thing that kept me involved was Tom Hardy as a man near the edge of a complete breakdown after a career and social free-fall. It was almost as funny as Thor: Ragnarok minus the appropriate mesh of adventure and awe. I felt no awe. The awe was missing. Michelle Williams took my awe. |

Avengers: Endgame 8.9/10
Anyone who thinks Aquaman was better than Infinity War and Endgame, can go suck a big fat dick. |

Avengers Endgame-10/10
It's not a perfect movie. Dealing with time travel is tricky, and inevitably leaves plot holes. How fucking ever, this movie was everything any movie and comic fan could likelyever ask for. The acting is superb. Particularly with Hemsworth, Downey Jr, Rudd and Evans. There's a scene at the end battle where a beat to shit Cap wills himself up, in the face of defeat no less, and looks to push thru despite being hopeless in winning. It's a shining moment for the character. Many of these characters get to have awesome moments. But it's the story, the weight of the circumstances involved and the devastating finality for the core members that sets this film apart from any Marvel movie ever. It's funny, clever, and the set pieces are great. But I cannot say enough about how great it was to see these characters act in such desperation towards a common goal, and see a different version of Thanos that's still so charismatic, just as he was in the previous installment. Easily, this is the best movie Marvel has ever done for me. It's not a perfect film. But it is a perfect ending for the core they've established. And though there's new threads for Thor to explore, as a whole, this was a perfect sendoff for 11 years of work. Well done, Russo brothers, you magnificent bastards. |

Laughed at reading a 10/10 score followed by "It's not a perfect movie"
Isn't that the definition of a perfect rating? |

Yeah I think he means "It's not perfect writing... BUT" because he clearly means it deserves 10/10 for enjoyment.

Exactly that. It's not a perfectly written film because there are some holes and even the tone goes up and down. But from a pure storytelling standpoint, payoffs with a decade build and an amazing 3rd act, it's perfect for what wanted to be.

The Intruder - 7/10
Dennis Quaid pretty much ensures this will find a cult audience w/ his very unique performance. There are some scripting issues and Meagan Good's character is essentially a perfect human -- but it's a fun time at the movies. |

The Predator (2018)- 2/10
Fucking hot garbage. Predators (2010) wasn't a great movie, but it wasn't terrible. But this shit? This regresses back to the AvP bullshit. It's just a corny, generic, comedy monster movie. Nothing of what made the original so great. It's like they tried to make a marvel movie, but with Predator. SPOILER: show Seriously why the fuck can't anyone make a good Predator movie. We're fucking 1 for 6 over here, god damn it. Last edited by Fignuts; 05-07-2019 at 05:49 AM. Reason: Your Mom |

In the interest of fairness, if this wasn't predator, it would probably get like a 4/10. It's a dumb, stupid movie, and if that is what you are looking for, you may enjoy it a little more.
But I'm not looking for that in a Predator movie. Even if I was, it's still not very good. |

I gave it 2/4 because it was inoffensive generic action fare and it didn't piss me off nearly as much as Predators did. I left the cinema mad after that one.

Dragged Across Concrete 7/10
Wasn't nearly as good as Brawl in Cell Block 99 but was still pretty good. Was kind of slow moving and needed some more action. |

It has a decent cast; I particularly liked Tilda Swinton, and I don't generally gravitate towards her. But, before even the first hour was up, I was checking to see how long was left before it finished.

Hahaha.
I liked Tilda's northern accent; seemed absolutely random. I definitely got a Terry Gilliam vibe from it; kept thinking of Brazil. Not going to lie: I think Alison Pill is hot. |
