Finally playing Metal Gear Solid (PS1) for the first time. Dad never got it growing up, and most people I know talk about it alot. Intrigued to see this experience play out.

More watching than action in that first one. Doesn't take away from the greatness of it though. Now a game you watch and not play? Xenosaga, holy shit..... |

During the XBLA New Years countdown, amongst all the other things I downloaded, I finally picked up "Dust: An Elysian Tale", or as I see it: "Castlevania: Sym-Furrie of the Night". Obviously MetroidVania. Not as expansive as something like Shadow Complex, but still a damn good game from top to bottom. Fairly simple to 100% achievements without some dumb-ass ones relying on luck or multiplayer functions to get. Lots of self-aware humor and cameos. I even liked the "love letter" to Simon's Quest thrown in.
Story was kinda cliche, but that's okay. Everything doesn't have to have a friggin Shyamalanian twist ending or a branching path of what is ultimately a black and white path of morality. It starts, it's fun, it ends. Guess I'd better actually put time into Hitman: Absolution now. |

The cigs work, but they suck-ass in range (you have to damn near trip them for the smoke to pass by, and even then it has to just so happen to pass by while you're exhaling) as well as being driven slowly insane by that annoying ass "health drain" beep while you're smoking them. You're better just finding the infrared goggles first.
"Hey, Snake, there are lazers there!" "OKAY! I guess I'll use these cigarettes I hid in my STOMACH! AWESOME!!!" |

1st Mass Effect on PC... My complaints: playing other characters like sentinel, vanguard, etc.. you cannot have that zoom in ability in all of your weapons.. Restarted the game as a soldier and I can zoom in with all weapons too.. The targeting system is a bit shitty awkward despite yes, I know, Mass Effect started out like this but it improved in the sequels afterwards. Still, the game's no different to the awesomeness of its brethren.
The 1st Normandy ship before being destroyed by Collectors had no capt. cabin or a locker room to custom your armor.. And for some reason, I preferred the Cerberus Normandy... But still, the original had its moments with the crew. The elevator only gets you to the engineering and shuttle bay. That's it.. |

It's been forever, but I think the locker in the first game was in the shuttle bay.

Got started on FarCry3 and me and my buddies are addicted to it. I've done nothing except for hunting and gathering relics and cash. |

Also, no offense, just curious: How can you not have played Oblivion or Fallout 3? Oblivions been out since 06 and Fallout 3 since 08? Finally, just a word of advice about Oblivion: If you don't already have a bought copy, go for the GoTY edition...Knights of the Nine I found to be slightly underwhelming but solid, but Shivering Isles is a must-play DLC experience. |

Borderlands 1. I never was really interested in it, but I bought it last summer just for the coop but my brother and I never got around to playing it so I just went ahead and finished it to get it out of the way.
I bought the GOTY editions of Fallout and Oblivion. Bought them both a year or two ago but kept putting games ahead of them. Actually I preordered Fallout for the PS3 back when it came out. I even got the goofy lunchbox and bobblehead deal, but I never played more than an hour or two of it but Josh (my brother) beat it. Then when my brother moved he took the PS3 with him so I just traded Fallout in. But I had the desire to play it again so I bought it and Oblivion since everyone was raving about it as Skyrim was being hyped up. But they have both sat on my shelf pretty much unplayed for a couple of years as I put other games ahead of them in my list. I may have an hour or two into Oblivion, I'm out of the dungeon and looking for the kid I think. Fallout, I'm almost out of the Vault. As much as I longed for Arkham City I've had it since the Christmas after it came out and I've never done anything more than d/l the Catwoman DLC. Josh beat it after tiring of waiting for me to play it. I've had Mass Effect 1 and 2 and have never played them, and I was about to trade them in today since I never play them. I'm having second thoughts though. I guess I just don't play that often, most of these were beaten in spurts of boredom since they were fairly short, so they just sit there collecting dust. |

Played and beat X-Men Destiny after a couple of days. First game I have played, besides WoW, in a long time. Felt I was mislead by the trailer but worse things have happened. I figured I was going to be in the mansion learning to be a X-Men (Or part of the Brotherhood).
Fun gameplay, short enough to not make it repetitive. That is if you kept upgrading your moves to make new ones/combos. 6/10. |

Save yourself time with AC Revelations. The entire series is amazing..... except for that one. Huge fan of the series, and I ignored the same advice from the dude @ gamestop. 2 days later I returned it. I didnt even bother to finish the story either, it was that bad for me HAvent had a go at AC III yet, but I hear great things. |

I'm not even sure why I bought it to be honest, because I didn't really like AC 2 and I hated Brotherhood. Like you're saying I guess I just wanted to see how the stories ended.
I'm hoping that the big reason I disliked Brotherhood and even 2 was because I played the first 3 back to back with nothing to break up the monotony and ended up getting all of the achievements in 1 & 2. |

That was kind of what I was hoping for. 1 was my favorite so far, but I see a lot of people dog AC1 in comparison to the others and they also dog on Revelations so I'm hoping that means good things for me. I know it doesn't work that way and it'll end up being countless timed, escort, follow, and tower defense missions instead, but there's still hope.

Playing 3 now, camera angles can go fuck themselves. Also seems glitchy as fuck at times, kinda mixed on if I like/hate with a fiery passion the new controls too. Still hasn't stopped me whoring through it though.

Revelations isn't a terrible AC game, it was just boring for me. In Brotherhood I knew why I was running around Rome, in Revelations I just kinda like, why should I care about Constantinople. I think Revelations would've worked better as DLC, in my opinion anyhow.
