Yeah. Vince kept saying he listens to his audience and wants to make stars, yet he blatantly pulled the rug out from under Cesaro, cut off or tried to cut off both Punk and Bryan's momentum, and consistently depushes guys as their getting over.
My wife commented on these comments and chuckled when he stated he wasn't out of touch. |

Funny how they kept calling it a podcast. It's only a podcast if and when they release it on audio.
It's an interview. |

I'll sum up Vince's philosophy here:
"We listen to our audience in order to to give them what they want...except for when we think it's not what they really want. We give them what they really want...and if they don't like it they're critics, and we don't care what critics think." It was a great show/interview and Vince almost had me convinced that he isn't massively out of touch. Until you think back to the start of the year, when every arena they went to was going wild for Bryan...and they had him pencilled in for a match against Sheamus at Mania. Cesaro is another one. Yeah, I agree he's not great on the mic, but he got over inspite of that. Find a work around. Don't kill the momentum. And the whole deal about how "nobody in the back wants it nowadays"? What!? You're telling me a guy like Ziggler who goes out there and bumps like crazy every night, trying to steal the show every night, doesn't do it to get noticed? Because he's hungry? I get the feeling Vince thinks everybody should be like him; a top-dog, alpha male who will trample anybody to get what he wants (then act like it was their fault they got trampled), so when you have a guy like Bryan - who's allegedly quite laid-back - he passes him off as "not wanting it bad enough". I dunno. It was a great listen, and it'd make a great series of interviews but there were some things that just didn't sit right/make sense. Maybe Vince has toe the line too much to conserve public image. |

Did the Minute Men in GTA come before The Real Americans formed? Cesaro always makes me think about the foreign member of those missions.
Cesaro was doing his five language gimmick on the Survivor Series Pre-show. If that doesn't show that its the writers who are killing him I don't know what will. |

Cesaro is alright on the mic, it's the fact everything is written out that seems to be the stumbling block for a lot of the talent. give them bullet points and let them sink or swim on the mic, at least it doesn't sound forced then and they might catch fire with a catchphrase.

Yeah Cesaro is better on the mic than Reigns.

That's another thing. Vince stated he looks for charisma or it factor. Reigns has neither. He's piss fucking boring in the ring and on the mic.

The perfect wrestler right now would be if Reigns (who is a good worker) had Ryback's charisma.

I'd also argue this about Cesaro: If Vince ever watches the JBL show enough to see Cesaro's work there, they'd see he's actually got a casual charisma that would work more towards being a face.

I think Reigns is a perfect tag team guy, the arena explodes when he gets tagged in. But as a singles wrestler he isn't much to write home about.

He's not. And even with Ryback, they give him these boring big guy promos with short lines instead of something more real, like the promo he cut with Brandy about WWE needing a hero. That was leaps and bounds better than anything they've actually aired with him on Raw.

But that's Cesaro's fault, I bet. Along that same line, Axel should at least have been a solid midcarder by now. Instead, he was put in the role for Heyman that J&J Security is in for Rollins. Getting a couple flukey wins then getting jobbed ad made to look like a dumbass lackey isn't the way to follow through with touting a future star. |

I'd say, if nothing else, have a bit where Swagger is getting beaten down by Rusev, only for Cesaro to make the save. Reunite the Real Americans as faces, but have them do things in singles matches on occasion.

Axel was screwed from the on set. They had a chance to legitimize him in his match with Triple H and had Triple H beat him up to the point where his concussion symptoms gave way. Real awesome way to give a needing superstar the rub.

Here's my issue with the Vince/Cesaro stuff. I don't have a problem with his comments about Cesaro not having the "it" factor or charisma. He's right. But... you've got this Andre the Giant battle royal that you wanna start doing every year. Why the fuck do you make the inaugural winner someone who you don't think has what it takes to use it as a catapult to being a star? Then you throw him with Paul Heyman for a couple months just to change your mind and drop it out of the blue. So now you've already made winning this yearly WrestleMania battle royal mean shit from the start since you've shown that winning it doesn't mean you're going anywhere and you've made being a "Paul Heyman guy" mean shit for future Paul Heyman guys because the guys he's been managing outside of Brock have gone on to not do shit.
If you don't think he's got it, then just pick someone else. Don't ruin potentially meaningful accomplishments for any future guys by giving them to a guy you don't think has what it takes. It's fucking retarded. |

Still laugh at how much they hyped up the Andre trophy being a really prestigious thing to own while in reality it barely lasted a week before getting destroyed and quickly forgotten by commentary.

Reigns has the "IT Factor", it's the rest he needs to work on. Cesaro has the rest, it's the "IT Factor" he needs to work on.

Really want Rollins to get that title shot just to see the possibility of a MitB holder cashing in on his own match. Rollins can lose by DQ but soften Lesnar up (with some help) and cash in right away. Can make Lesnar a bigger beast if he can overcome that or go in a new direction for Mania's title match if the WWE still has cold feet on Lesnar's reign. |

I don't see how Reigns has the it factor. I remember JR mentioning how guys like Buff Bagwell were great in an 8x10 but offered little else. This is how I see Reigns. Looks great in photos, looks great walking in the ring, then, once the light turns on, it's over. Any appeal he's garnered to that point goes poof. That's why I don't understand what they see in him.

Slightly off topic but do recently released WWE stars have to wait a year to sign with another organisation as per contract rules etc?
