WWE at least "threw around the idea" of trying to bring in Billy Gunn for the DX reunion.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, If WWE did actually reach out to AEW is not known, Before Tony Khan has mentioned its not working out with WWE: "I've had a number of interactions with them," Khan told Wrestling Inc.'s Nick Hausman during the "All Out" post-show media scrum. "I've said a lot of nice stuff, and I don't regret saying nice stuff because I'm super honest about pro wrestling. And when I saw good stuff happening there, I'll be the first to say it. But, yeah, I'm just not feeling the same love. I don't wanna get into it but, you know, I just haven't felt the same reciprocation that I have for them." "It had been speculated that an unnamed current AEW wrestler had received an unsolicited inquiry to join WWE, with Chris Jericho seemingly indicating that he was also contacted in regard to re-joining his old promotion. These reported uninvited inquiries caused people to wonder if this was the reason why Khan had felt unfairly treated by WWE." |

Spend 4 years having your entire roster FEDBAD as much as possible, wonder why WWE doesn't want to work with you. Fucking idiot Tiny thinks they are just meanies!

He also picked up talent who left WWE in a huff, which once upon a time would have been seen as bad form. He should have left Jeff Hardy and Toni Storm alone, or consulted them about hiring them.

I don’t get the stuff with Chris Jericho’s contract allegedly being tampered with. He’s appeared on WWE television this year, along with Daniel Bryan and Big Show, for the John Cena thing. WWE would need to have open channels of communication with them to do that. If they’re allowed to approach these independent contractors about doing work with them in that context, I don’t see why it would be completely unreasonable for them to inquire about other contexts that talent can work under.

Someone obviously snitched to TK, but I think it’s more likely to be a no-mark like Swerve Strickland since it would make sense WWE would reach out to him about a Hit Row return.

Yeah every rumor about that I've seen about the snitch that actually dares to name names says Swerve is the one who went to TK crying about WWE contacting people. I wouldn't be surprised if they brought back Hit Row so fast just to fuck with Swerve for it.

I give it a few months before Swerve desperately wants to go back. They might not hold it against him, but pretty bad form on the guy’s part.

The instant TK sends him to Dark catering and quits pushing him in exchange for Mike and Maria Kanellis.

Remember when tag team wrestling was supposed to matter in AEW? They wouldn’t just put the belts on makeshift tag teams that don’t mean anything long-term, right?

Fuck it, I’ll go through them all:
* Sports-like presentation went out with their first match. They were always going to be TNA-lite with their Casino Battle Royale shit. Straight from the mind of Vince Russo. You had Glacier in a match for a World Title shot. In 2019. This was a lie and this direction is a big part of what turned Cody Rhodes away in my opinion. And this philosophy is what is causing the problems in AEW now with The Elite. * Wins and losses matter was a jab at WWE. That’s all. You have to make them matter. AEW can’t make meaning because Tony Khan is not a booker who understands how the things he does have an effect. He’s all about the what. The win-loss records were always a bad idea. They box you in. Now, not only do wins and losses not matter, it doesn’t matter if you’re a champion or not. * The tag teams were always an overblown and overrated element to AEW. Their division has always sucked. Quantity does not equate to quality. The booking has been terrible. It does not mean more to The Acclaimed or Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland than it does to be The Usos or The New Day. Just more anti-WWE rhetorical people were willing to go with for a while. * Tony Khan knows that bloating his roster is a bad idea. He did interviews where he bragged about not making the same mistakes as WCW. Yet here we are. He cannot help himself. Never mind AEW has always been making mistakes WCW made and they were just not aware. This could be Dave Meltzer’s influence and a focus on the IWC talking points. * Yeah, that was bullshit. The contracts are as fucked as WWE. You are Tony Khan’s toy. In some ways, it could be worse than WWE because of Tony’s involvement. He seems to be part of the bullying sometimes. * When you prop up insecure fucks like Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, you are going to get the issues that AEW has developed. This was an inevitability. They were always going to bully and sabotage the moment someone threatened the status quo they had established with themselves at the head. Punk was the guy who called them out, but this clash of philosophies has been going on since day one. * Wrestling fans don’t even have to know who the fuck Tony Khan is, yet he’s all over everything. It was a downright lie that he was too humble and too aware to stay away. He is the very definition of a money mark. |

They could easily fix the tag division by having Butcher and Blade murder everyone.

Tony Khan has signed Chris Jericho through 2025 and has made him a producer, creative advisor and mentor to young talent.

4 title matches tonight. Tony REALLY doesn't want to lose to NXT again. Never forget NXT won the last head to head matchup and Tony has spent about $100 million of his daddy's money since

Feel like all the title matches they constantly do waters down the meaning of the titles. They're becoming "just another match". And having a ton of title matches means you don't really have much time for anyone other than champs and whoever they are feuding with. How do you build people with that?
Wouldn't be surprised if some day TK has created enough titles that everyone in the company has gold. They'll probably act like it's some kind of in joke and/or long term storytelling. |

Smart move for Jericho to sign for another 3+ years. He's getting up there. Probably keen to sit back and collect the fat stacks at home in a couple years when the company tanks and their library gets sold to Trips. Once that time is up, he will be well rested and ready to go do a retirement match in WWE at Mania 43 or 44.

For like a year the anti-AEW talked like Moxley and Jericho were gonna abandon the sinking ship and come crawling back to WWE.
Now they've both re-upped and the goalposts have moved to "lol AEW had to find a way to keep Moxley and Jericho because they didn't make any new stars" Sad. |

WWE used Raw to lead into NXT. Let’s not pretend that both want to come out of this looking good. I dare say WWE’s tactic might be better though. Wasn’t there 3 title matches on last week’s Rampage, and 4 on Dynamite? At this point it’s not a way to load up the show, it’s BAU.

Per the Observer, Ace Steel has officially been released.
Commentary specifically namedropped The Elite as the team that vacated the Trios titles, and CM Punk was briefly shown on an ROH champions montage before the title match. This is the first time either party has been directly said or shown onscreen since the incident so it would seen things might be just about wrapped up. I'm guessing there's a good chance The Elite are back by Full Gear. I still don't think Punk will return, but he's hurt for months anyway so he'll likely remain on the books through his injury rehab and then either cooler heads will prevail or he'll get packaged out. |

If Punk comes back he should beat up and bloody Tony Khan and start a storyline of trying to take over the company. Then get jobbed out to Hangman at the end of it.

It has to be at least somewhat believable. There is 0 chance Punk could beat up somebody THAT high on Cocaine.
