Yeah, I used to watch the cartoon and definitely remember being confused one day when my dad was watching the movie on TV and it was not a cartoon.... he was trying to say how funny it was, but punk young kid me was not interested.....

There are 6 Peter Sellars "Pink Panther" films and only the last one is bad. Sellers was dead by then so they just used a bunch of outtakes and made a dreadful hash of it.
I have a box-set but it only has 5 of them, it does include the dreadful last one though so no idea what went on with that... |

Yeah, my 4D experience was essentially me thinking that it would probably just be a big waste on a lot of movies..... Aquaman was good in it though.....
Looked at what was playing in 4D last time I went back home to Toronto, but it was Star Wars, which I thought would just be a big waste |

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) - 8/10
Was actually really fun. Loved the final fight scenes/climax of the movie. I really want a sequel that focuses more on Black Canary/Huntress. Feel like its weakness was not giving them enough time to shine compared to Harley Quinn. Also still have my gripe about Cassandra Cain.... there was absolutely no reason at all to make that character be Cassandra Cain. Might as well just have made her be Misfit or Black Alice or someone..... |

Googled this after it won the Oscar for Best Short film and decided to give it a watch.
If you have 20 minutes would recommend! The Neighbor's Window - 8/10 Funny and Touching The Neighbors' Window - Oscar®-Nominated Live Action Short Film from Marshall Curry Productions on Vimeo. |

Get Out-8/10
Caught on to what was happening pretty early on. But it's a fun ride that's filled with awkward scenes and a satisfying ending. Not as good as "Us", imo, but still a very good film for Mr. Peele. |

Ready or Not 6/10
Bride marries into a rich family, and as a tradition has to play a game of hide and seek, except her new family hunt her down with weapons, looking to sacrifice her to the Devil. Little in the way of tension, and the forced humour falls flat. It's alright if you want to kill 90 mins. |

Midsommar (2019) - 8/10
Very good. Felt very uneasy throughout, which I always enjoy. Liked it a lot better than Hereditary because I didn't feel bored at any point. Good... |

Watched two other Safdie brothers movies (guys who made Uncut Gems)
Both good. Very "New York" characters... Felt like I "know" them Good Time (2017) - 8/10 After a bank robbery goes wrong, a guy tries to get his "slow" younger brother bailed out of jail. Entertaining... Heaven Knows What (2014) - 7/10 Centers around a heroin-addicted girl and her "adventures" in NYC with other characters. Based on the real life of the main character, who also plays herself in the movie. Good acting... a lot of the actors were real people basically playing themselves. The Strange Thing About The Johnsons (2011) - 8/10
This is a short film (29 mins) from the director/writer of Midsommar and Hereditary lol... I recommend this. Very fucked, reaching into comedic territory. Good... |

"Joker" - 4/4
I wasn't excited to see this until I was holding it in my hands. I suppose besides the troubled production history I had no detailed knowledge of it and no clue as to how the plot would be treated or how the story would be adapted this time around. I feel confident after seeing it in full that this wasn't what anyone could have expected when they went in. I wasn't expecting to watch an almost Freudian character study with a sympathetic take on a presumed monster. I wasn't expecting to empathise or to agree with any political or social themes but such is the quality of the film that I have to admit that I did start to wonder towards the ending just how easily reality can be twisted into folklore like that. From the moment the film gets going you know you are watching from Arthur's point of view, everything feels a little bit off. Everything in Arthur's life is like a worse version of reality. You know Gotham is a shithole from Batman, but Arthur's Gotham is even shittier. Arthur gets one broke parent, no millionaires with private butlers here. In fact Arthur's whole life, from the way he is treated as a child to the way he is unsure of everything about himself as an adult until he finally emerges is in direct opposition with the Batman character we all know. Arthur sees himself as the underdog and it is hard to argue in this film. His neuroses are alive on the screen, visions and versions of events can't be trusted. I was particularly enamoured with the girlfriend fantasy, I thought the way that pitch-perfect and was used to full effect. He's not out to hurt anyone, but he will because he just can't see himself honestly. He is his own unreliable narrator. Joaquin Phoenix was physically incredible in this role, he could rival Christian Bale for The Machinist with what he does to himself here. Not only is he physically perfect though, he has every idiosyncrasy refined to an unsettling, sea-sick degree. He becomes a nervous, emaciated, misanthropic anti-hero here and in the midst of some truly appalling violence he emerges a just and true champion for those that would follow him into the Gotham of the future. Some say there are two sides to every story but that seems low to me even just counting Joker's side. |

Sonic - 6.5/10 - Decent, an above average film that was better than I was expecting. Had some decent comedy and is definitely set up for a sequel, and by the looks of the box office numbers from the weekend, could very well be in the cards.

while its true that the tension dies on repeat viewings what remains is its wonderful characters, acting, cinematography, and stage design. This is a film that gets richer over time as the individual flavors and nuances are able to shine after youve stripped the plot away. |

The Godfather: 10/10
one of those movies thats its "how have i never watched this?" ADR from that era can be jarring at times and it does suffer from the fact ive seen decadesof films that built off what was done here but its objectively a work of art. |

The Godfather pt2 - 10/10
what a hauntingly dark journey this was. Truly outstanding. The subplot of Don Vito in his youth juxtaposed with the final scene really highlights who Don Vito was and why all 4 of his children ultimately fail. Each are an incomplete vestige of their father. Sonny is his rage, his fearlesaness. Tommy is his loyalty. Fredo is his love. Michael is his cunning. But each son is incomplete. Theyre swallowed by the shadow of their fathers greatness and all ultimately are alone because of it. |

The Godfather pt3- 6/10
well...this was unfortunate. Im not sure which was more egregious the incest subplot or the helicopter machine gun attack. Feels like Puzzo wrote this while watching diehard on vacation in Kentucky. All the subtlety, nuance and symbolism from the 1st two films are gone and what is left is a cartoon version of the previous entries. The fact this was penned by the same hand is baffling. |

Got a chance to sit down to watch "The Cabin in the Woods" finally. Not something I'd watch again but it's a blast. They should've kept more a mystery but I don't have that much to complain about. 3 out of 4 stars.
