Considering the Rumble go-home show is usually one of the higher viewed shows in the year, not a good sign for this year's Road to Mania if it still couldn't get back a good chunk of viewers lost from this past football season.
On the bright side, it managed to beat out both the Cs-Lakers game and its never explained blood rival Love & Hip Hop in terms of rankings. The Cs-Lakers game turning into a blowout also likely helped RAW out a lot. |

Last week's episode wasn't ranked but it did 84k viewers and a 0.3 in the key demo. |

RAW's post-PPV bump (22k) ended up being one of the smallest in years for a post-Rumble show and post-major WWE event.
In terms of the good stuff, RAW took the top 3 spots for rankings and the last two hours were higher than last week's show. In terms of the bad stuff, this year's post-Rumble show was around 300k lower than last year's show and the first hour was slightly lower than last week. Also had a lower key demo rating than last week. 8PM - 2,541,000 9PM - 2,441,000 10PM - 2,224,000 Overall - 2,402,000 |

Assuming it has a similar drop next year, within 5 years RAW would have halved their audience and its all due to how badly WWE botched the transition from the Cena era to the Reigns era and handling of NXT call-ups.
For some reference, within the same time period NFL managed to stay relatively even to where it was five years ago despite the growing trend with cord cutters. Similar to WWE, NFL also had a period where they had the view of nobody could be bigger than "The Shield" or brand but then stopped that mentality once it started to really hurt the ratings. |

That’s a fine number for where they’re at. I don’t think anyone really expected them to them to get over 3 million or anything.

Results for last night's AEW and NXT episodes:
AEW got 828k viewers, #3 ranking, and a 0.34 in the key demo ranking. NXT got 712k viewers, #37 ranking, and a 0.22 in the key demo ranking. AEW won every demographic except the 50+. Old people down by a sizeable amount pretty much was the reason for AEW's drop this week while NXT suffered from young women being down by a lot. |

I predicted NXT would be a lot closer than they were, but it was a pretty cold show.

Pretty terrible for a Road to Mania number especially since there was no major sports competition. Only real competition was the Iowa Caucus election stuff but that did poorly in the demos except for old people compared to RAW.

Results for last night's AEW and NXT episodes:
AEW got 928k viewers, #11 ranking, and a 0.36 in the key demo ranking. NXT got 770k viewers, #34 ranking, and a 0.22 in the key demo ranking. AEW won every demographic except the 50+. Basically Charlotte provided a 58k boost to NXT but she barely moved the needle for key demos especially with women. AEW's gains was mainly due to the rebound from their older demo group but took a notable hit with their rankings mainly due to the Impeachment stuff. |

First time in a long while RAW's 2nd hour was bigger than the 1st hour.
According to Meltzer, peak viewership happened during the Angel Garza match meaning WWE's gamble on pushing him as their new top Latino star might be working now. |

Only problem is WWE has done this song and dance plenty of times before when it comes to finding the next Rey Mysterio for the company.
Wouldn't be surprised if they eventually change their mind and go with whichever big name Latino star they end up signing next. They also have El Hijo del Fantasma (King Cuerno in LU) stashed away in the PC and supposedly he's returning soon from injury. |

Angel Garza's a good looking guy and seems to instantly connect. Andrade is in the same boat, but he's a heel and he's got the hot chick. I kind of hope that is the WrestleMania US Title match.
But you're never going to get your next Rey Mysterio. You've got Rey Mysterio. Just be content with that and bring along the guys with talent as best you can. |

Did Del Rio ever mean anything to ratings or the like? He was also presented as a heel out the gate, but he had face runs that I don't remember meaning anything to the figures.

Not sure since by the time he arrived, Smackdown wasn't on UPN anymore. That channel played a big role in Eddie Guerrero's rise as a big star and Rey Myetsrio cementing himself as WWE's top Hispanic star.
Also WWE pretty much botched his big face run so he wasn't going to succeed as a ratings draw even had it lasted longer than it did. Even if it wasn't botched, he'd still run into the big problem of Vince cutting the legs out of anyone who was getting too close to star status to Cena. |

Eddie and Rey were two stars who happened to be Latino. Everyone else WWE has tried has been pushed as a Latino star. It comes off as forced and hokey.

It surprises me that Raw is the platform they're choosing to try and get these Hispanic guys over.

I remember during the whole original brand split there was an enormous push to always have a Hispanic star on SmackDown because the TV deals in Mexico were much better for SmackDown instead of Raw.
Now they've got FOX Deportes airing the show for Spanish viewers but the only representation is Lucha House Party who are seldom used. It's odd. |

AEW 817k
NXT 757k AEW really deserves to do better than this, they've been putting on killer shows since 2020 started. |

Based on the demo stuff, AEW biggest drop was where it mattered the most while NXT's biggest drop was with older viewers but didn't wreck their numbers as much.
Also NXT had a pretty sizable boost from female viewers this week compared to last week when the opposite probably should have happened because of Charlotte's appearance. |

I'm a bit surprised to see AEW fluctuate between the 800 and 900s so often.
They've really been on a roll this year. |
