I think it's just gotten to the yearly franchise stage, it's more about churning one out for Christmas than actually doing anything with the franchise.

I agree with that. I've been debating on whether or not to even worry with 3. I watched my brother play a few minutes early into the game, and I liked the idea of running through the forest and such as opposed to the same old buildings from the last few games, but it didn't scream play me. Revelations at least wraps up Altair and Ezio to draw me in, 3 I may get around too eventually but nothing about it stands out to much to me just seems like more of the same.

I think 3 wins on gameplay hands down.
And the setting is very refreshing... Hated Connor though and the fact that the creed is pretty much non existent. Achilles is my favorite character in 3. |

Games I've Beaten in 2013:
Max Payne 3 - 80 Fun stuff, very Max Payneish and wasn't really looking for anything too much else. It seems like there was just enough bad guys to shoot before parts of the game became too repetitive. It is a bit preposterous the amount of bad guys Max Payne kills but oh well. Multiplayer seemed fine but I didn't play all that much of it. The only thing that was frustrating was when it would come out of a cutscene and it put me out of cover for whatever reason or equipped me with a gun with no bullets and I would die instantly. Other than that though it was very Max Payneish and I enjoyed it. Working On: Blops 2, The Walking Dead, Driver: San Francisco, inFamous 2, Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Deus Ex, Spelunky, God of War 3, God of War: Origins, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Assassin's Creed 3, Dear Esther, Trine 2, Super Meat Boy, Metal Gear Solid Collection, maybe Portal 2 co-op |

Finished NSMBU 100%/ Every level, including secret exits and all Star Coins. Now wishing there was something else to buy on the Wii U. I fancy ZombiU but I'm not so sure. I'd prefer something less intense right now.
Might help if they hurried up with the VC. |

Getting back into Skyward Sword. I'm not going to rush it but I hope to finish the story by the time the Hyrule Historia book gets here next month.
Still playing with NSMBU & Evil Genius. |

I got it when it released and it is good. There are one or two tiny tweaks I'd make to it but, overall, it's the best Spider-Man game since Spider-Man 2 on the PS2.

Couldn't see any reviews for it but a couple lines comparing it to Spider-Man 2 and Arkham so I picked it up on a whim in the sales, better than I expected honestly.

The only thing you really need to know is that it does contain spoilers from the film, even though the company that made it said it wouldn't.
It's a pity their wasn't more DLC for it. |

Yeah part of the reason I didn't pick it up was because I hadn't seen the film at the time. It's hilarious how you can swing anywhere even if there's nothing to swing on really, although the swinging around is great.

People complained abut the swinging being doable anywhere and not "realistic" but the guys that made the game said they tried doing it realistically but it wasn't as fun.
I've got no problem with the swinging the way it is. I got the Stan Lee DLC with my game. It's fun to swing as Stan Lee but that's all it is. There is one single mission for Stan Lee and then you're left to your own devices. I never got the other DLC but it sounds more my style. |

A guy with super powers is realistic but the swinging isn't? It's true though, having to swing around Central park etc would just get annoying.
Haven't even looked at the DLC, think I'm only at chapter 5, just defeated Vermin, but playing as Stan Lee can't go wrong. |

Stan Lee is fun purely because it's Stan Lee swinging from building to building. That wears off eventually.

I've had a similar argument with a friend of mine about costumes in superhero films. We're expected to believe a human has super powers but they don't think we'd believe the person would wear a colourful costume. So everyone gets crammed into black or dark blue leather onesies.
I can imagine the movie pitching meeting. "So, this guy can walk on water, time travel and shoot fireballs from his eyes? Yeah, the public will buy that. This red and green outfit and cape? Totally unrealistic. Give him a black leather outfit and bulletproof vest and you've got yourself a movie!" |

Wasn't that the reason behind the organic web shooters in the 1st three films, the idea that a high school student, boy genius no less, creating mechanical shooters wouldn't be believable, the super powers are fine though.

I bought Arkham City a few weeks back. Almost finished it, just need to do the last few AR training things and get all the Physical Challenge trophies. Won't be getting 100% on the game though cause those combat challenge things are so boring so I'm not doing them.

I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised. They need to either commit to reality completely or not at all.

Started up on Skyrim again recently. Going to get Dragonborn this weekend. I heard the dragon "mount" shout is garbage, as it only allows you to issue a few commands and not freely move about. Other than that, made my first ever pure caster/necromancer. Doing Dawnstar quests AGAINST the vampires this time, since mah main is a badass Master Vamp
Game is still great. |

Games I've Beaten in 2013:
Max Payne 3 - 80 Driver: San Francisco - 77 Fun game and was not what I was expecting at all. It starts out that you're in a coma and coma-you has the ability to "shift" into the air, spot a car anywhere in the city, and take control of the car to do whatever you want with. An unexpected mechanic but it's pretty neat. The story is real short and wraps up nicely. I kind of wish the cars would have handled a little bit better. Didn't try any of the multiplayer. Fun game. Working On: Blops 2, The Walking Dead, Shift 2 Unleashed, inFamous 2, Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Assassin's Creed 3, Deus Ex, God of War 3, God of War: Origins, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Spelunky, Dear Esther, Trine 2, Super Meat Boy, Metal Gear Solid Collection, maybe Portal 2 co-op |

Mega man: Day in the Limelight 2 -10/10 Most fun I've had with a mega man game since I discovered mega man. The second one should of been the capcom endorsed fan game instead of that piece of shit street fighter one. Seriously, go play these. They're free and they're fun as hell. |

Games I've Beaten in 2013:
Max Payne 3 - 80 Driver: San Francisco - 77 Shift 2 Unleashed - Holy Shit I Don't Care Back in the summer I got on a driving/racing game kick and wanted to play some of them and I realized I had some in my Goozex queue so I requested them. It's January now and I don't give a shit. Plus I look at that pile of games in my closet (and that you can view below) and I really don't want to waste my time on a subpar racing game. Fuck it. After a little over an hour, I don't care. If it was any decent I would have kept playing but it isn't. The most difficult part of this whole thing will be trying to pawn it off on some poor guy who might request it. Which will take forever which means it will sit in my closet for maybe even longer than when I had requested it. Fuck. Working On: Blops 2, The Walking Dead, inFamous 2, Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Assassin's Creed 3, Deus Ex, God of War 3, God of War: Origins, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Spelunky, Dear Esther, Trine 2, Super Meat Boy, Metal Gear Solid Collection, maybe Portal 2 co-op |

Games I've beaten in 2013:
New Super Mario Bros. Wii Super Castlevania IV I started both of those in 2012 though. New Super Mario Bros was fun except for the fact that we kept getting in each other's way, so, annoying. Also a little lenient with retries and stuff. Castlevania was ridiculous. I was flipping out at the last boss and had to try on three separate days to beat it and kept dying but then today I started from there and beat it on the first try and it was kind of anti-climactic. |

haha! Dracula on Super Castlevania was hard as hell the first couple times I fought him too. If you want EZmode for the future, you can jump off the ledge after you kill Death but before you walk up the stairs to Dracula. Full health / item use, boomerang with triple throw and of course full morning star upgrade
The Boomerang x3 is the real winner there. |

Bioshock Duology series... I think the message of this game is how to be a real father to those little sister kids that were influenced by violent adult egomaniac underwater Atlantis-ish dictator type of dad... Other than that, I got both good endings on this one.. I just couldn't bear harvesting little girls like that.. I've seen enough children being killed or mistreated in games. Great game.. And the Infinite sequel says it might not be the same storyline as these 2.
