People are not going to like this take, but…

The Acclaimed don’t seem to be very good. They’re over in front of that crowd and there is potential there. They’re “blue chippers,” but the act is pretty lame and them being so over is an indictment of where everything else is. Billy Gunn being so over is further evidence of that.

The same goes with MJF being a babyface.

This reminds me of when people would crow about R-Truth being one of the best things about WWE — there’s a bit of a problem there.

AEW keeps signing wrestlers. Konosuke Takeshita is All Elite. It’s a pretty good gig for a guy from Japan to get. He works a couple of times a month — once in front of people — gets paid a truck of money.

Given the sheer amount of games that have referenced no mercy during development and turned out to be dogshit, I don't think anyone is fully comitted to the idea that its going to be great.

But videos we've seen of the gameplay, and how it looks in motion, has got people hoping that they've managed to pull it off. Nothing is certain until we get it in our hands ourselves though.

I wish it had another year in the can to get a full 4 year dev cycle though. Its a new engine after all. That said if theyre running off the blueprints of those two games (mechanically they're basically the same game at their core) then you dont need the full time in theory. You already know what works you just have to develop it.

I expect it will be rough around the edges. But so was world tour and look how good revenge was... if this is a good 1st draft maybe FF2 nails it. Most fighting games hit their stride mechanically in their sequels nearly universally.
