Supposedly this is The Destroyer, one of the villains for the film...

I would love to see how the 'skin/armor' folds. I'm seriously interested in what they did with Thor's sleeve and that guy's armor.

The site I got it from was linked on the shit with the Thor pic. It is not officially recognised like the Thor one, so don't take it as gospel.

The Destroyer there is legit, but it is a production pic - most of these superhero movies look mad silly behind the scenes without filters and such. |

Fair play.
I guess Thor looks good, and as small detail as it is, and it will make me sound gayers, but think he be better with no sleeves. |

I think Thor is one of the most brilliant "creations" of Stan Lee.
Like he was sitting around one day and was like "*sigh* I don't want to create absolutely everything...... HEY! I know! I'll take a mythological Norse God and make him into a superhero! It already comes with a mass of supporting characters and villains! I'll just... I dunno... saddle Thor with a cripple human doctor alter ego in order to make him humble! The rest writes itself!" |

Production Weekly is reporting that Marvel Studios has already opened an office at Shepperton Studios in the U.K. in preparation for the commencement of principal photography on The First Avenger: Captain America, which is scheduled to begin on June 28th for a July 22nd, 2011 release.
Production Weekly is also reporting that Sony has opened an office for Men in Black 3 at New York’s Kaufman Astoria Studios and hopes to begin production sometime in August. |

Thor is my favorite character ever. Movie costume looks good but holy shit that Destroyer armor is fucking perfect. Pretty much means the final battle is Thor vs Destroyer with Loki's spirit inside, I would think.

I really hope they keep the Asgardian speech. It'll be great to see Thor talking that way to the other Avengers.

The Thor and the Destroyer look great.
I don't know if anyone caught the brief return of the Destroyer recently with Thor. The pic of Thor looks bad ass too..judging from the picture tho..he looks a bit skinny for Thor? I guess not skinny..just not massive arms that can crush the skulls of giants. |

Superman is usually never that buff and he could go toe to toe with cosmic beings, new gods and The Hulk. Thor could be just as strong without having a "Triple H" body.

While I support actors 'buffing up' before taking on superhero roles, I'm tired of the idea that if you're not emulating the uniform bulk of the comic depiction that character will not be that character. Things like this avoid the fact that many of these characters have had decades of personality building and they are far greater than how many muscles an artist draws on him.
And before someone gets all smart-ass, I fully recognize and understand certain character's physique are inherent with their 'character'. Hulk, Juggy, and Doomsday come to mind as characters you can't really get away with short-changing their traditional size. But Superman, Batman, Thor, Wolverine, even Spawn don't have to be especially large when their actual character lies in other factors. I've given myself a headache explaining this to someone who couldn't stand Eddie Brock not looking like a football player in Spidey 3. It really isn't contingent on his concept at all. |

Kaylx, I have been reading Thor comics for about..12-13 years at this point. At this point, I like to think I know the character fairly well. I don't think it breaks the character or the portrayal so far..I haven't seen the movie but from the picture..it still looks killer. Just an observation of size is all.
I mean..to me..part of the awesomeness of Thor is the fact that he is a god and he is big and powerful. I think that is an average portrayal of Thor. I mean..his arms are as thick as Iron Man..not counting the fact that Stark has armor on. |

Yeah kalyx, Thor's size isn't quite as important as the hulk or juggernau, but I believe it's more imortant incomparison to some of the other characters people have bitched about. I mean he's an Asgardian thunder god. Being large and imposing is a pqrt of his character. But destor said is also true so I can deal if guy can act.

well thor is also supposed to be basically a viking.... when have you seen a non-jacked viking? just saying.... i dont really care. buuuut i agree with what kalyx said about some of the characters not needing to be big but one thing that stuck out to me was eddie brock.... while eddie himself didnt need to be big i think venom DID need to be that way, but he also wasnt that important of a character in the movie so whatever

Also, I hate the long wait, but if we're getting Thor in May next year, and then Captain America in July, that'll be fucking sweet. |

I'm excited and all for a new X-Men film, but I wish it wasn't a prequel. I read rumours somewhere that Fantastic Four are possibly getting a reboot. There is an entry on IMDB that says 2013 but nothing else.
Fuck every comic film is pretty much get a reboot these days. They'll probably reboot Iron Man next year. |

I'm pissed that they went and made a movie as destructive to the franchise as X3. They should have waited for Bryan Singer, or at least made a movie that didn't destroy everything in it's path for future installments

Really, I'd love to see X-Men revisited and be as good as it was with X2, but I'm not sure how that can happen.
Killing Professor X, Cyclops and Jean Grey is almost laughable for how destructive it is to the "X-Men" franchise. That's the founders of the X-Men right there, all dead, except for Storm. I understand Prof X "isn't dead" and they can be brought back, but how convaluted is that shit? Come on. The franchise should still be going, but they made moves that makes it dead as a doornail. They should leave it the fuck alone for 10 years and then take another look at things. "The First Class" sounds like a horrid concept, and Wolverine was so bad that any sequels to that don't interest me in any way. |
